This particular Panera Bread is located in the Trumbull Mall. It has an entrance from the parking lot, which is great if you want to run in(you don’t have to navigate through the mall). I love Panera salads. They are filling and fresh. I also love that they give you a hunk of bread as a side for the salad(or you can have chips or an apple) because I am an admitted carb addict. I do have a rewards card so periodically I earn free drinks or a free pastry. I like to bring fresh bread home from here. Their soup in a bread bowl is a great cool-weather option. Currently I am really liking their chocolate duet sandwich cookie.

Staff is very unfriendly. Food has really gone down hill. I would recommend Cosi as an alternative.

Usually love Panera but the manager at the restaurant is not friendly he rudely said they charge for an extra piece of bread and insisted i go and pay for it, then my friend asked for some butter he gave her one packet and refused to give her more ! Talk about some cheap poor customer service

Not really impressed with this panera. The staff basically couldn’t handle the fact that there were customers in the store, as if they weren’t prepared for people to want to come and eat after shopping? The staff was agitated at every customer and basically pissed off for some inexplicable reason. I tried to talk to the shift leader and she basically talked at me and barely let me tell her that there was a mistake with my boyfriend’s order. She told us it was our fault that there was a mistake with his order. Ugh. We just wanted to have a normal bite to eat and it was kind of a mess.

Very pressed we arrived at 7:20am they open at 7:30am. The manger saw us and opened early. Power breakfast egg sandwich was hot, fresh and not over cooked. Restrooms are spotless. Great place to stop if traveling The Merritt Parkway!

Going to a chain, you would think they would be consistent. Flavor wise yes, they are consistent as to be expected, however when it comes to portions that’s where it becomes subjective. Every time i go there and dependent on whose preparing the food would determine if I would get half a sandwich(when I choose my pick two choices) or a third of a sandwich. At one point i brought back my sandwich to the place you pick it up to see if they could do something about this third of a size sandwich, to my surprise they said nope that’s half a sandwich. Now normally i would take their word for it but I’ve ordered their sandwiches plenty of times to know the difference whether I’m right or not. So consistency is lacking over there, which is sad. Other then that it’s a typical panera bread

I eat here all the time. I prefer to eat at smaller lunch spots but for chain food, I give it four stars because it’s consistent and I’ve never had a poor experience. Staff is always nice, food always comes out quickly and the tables are always clean. It’s one of the better fast-food options in this area, especially if your shopping at the mall(other options are subway, mcdonalds and asian food). My favorite is the tomato & mozzarella panini with a tomato soup. I tried the apple salad the other day and I liked it. Another reviewer said they didn’t like the coffee but I like it and think it’s way better than Duncan.

Went to Panera 7⁄28 in hopes of having a quick dinner before leaving the mall. A quick dinner turned into total disappointment and the worst stomach ache I’ve experienced in a very long time. I ordered just a simple bowl of chicken noodle soup and my friend ordered a caesar salad. My soup was almost inedible. It was extremely salty, the noodles were hard and you could tell it wasn’t fresh. The croutons in my friends salad were so stale he couldn’t bite into them and just ate soggy lettuce with sub par dressing. The restaurant was not very clean– the garbage cans were filthy and the spot where you put the trays down was completely full and stunk. I doubt I will ever come back, if I do it will be for maybe a cup of coffee and the free wifi.

My wife and I went to this Panera on Thursday, 08÷09÷12. The woman behind the counter was very helpful and help us set up our My Panera account which got us a free peach nectar smoothie:) They had several kinds of coffee and the time of brewing was posted on them which was a first for me to see. Good idea! We had a granola parfait and a cinnamon roll too. Both very good. The dining area and restrooms were clean too.
