Don’t go here. Why do I have to wait for glasses I already paid for? It’s not very hard to grab a box and hand it to customer.

MAUIJIM brand will not replace damaged lenses for you… paid $ 265 for a pair of glasses… took them back in for a prescription Lense replacement and Lenscrafters said that they would not do it and I would have to buy a new pair!!! Question… should this not have been disclosed at Purchase?

There is not enough mirrors! I awkwardly had to share a mirror with other guests trying my pair on quickly so they had time to look in the mirror. The guests also crowd the frames, so you constantly have to say, «excuse me» and reach around them. I didn’t actually get a representative to approach me until 30 minutes into my search. By then I already made up my mind to leave since they didn’t have the style I was looking for.

I have needed glasses for a few years now. Since I had a costco membership, I used their optical department, and I was SPOILED! I had to go to Lenscrafters this year because Costco did not take my vision insurance :(:(So I went to Lenscrafters expecting the level of professionalism and value that I always received at Costco, because that is all I had ever known. That is not what I got. I got a McDonalds like experience where everything is overpriced and the employees don’t care. I got rudeness and ineptness as far as getting my glasses adjusted. I paid 5 times what I paid last year for glasses at Costco and the glasses still don’t fit right. I have an appointment today and I don’t know if I will make it because I don’t want to deal with their BS and rudeness. The store isn’t that clean. The employees don’t care. Save yourself hassle and go to Costco. If you don’t have a Costco membership, pay for one. The 55 you will pay for that will save you hassle and get you a nice pair of glasses, even if they don’t take your insurance.

Everyone advertises glasses in an hour and walk in appointments, but when that becomes a necessity in one’s life you would not believe how hard it is to find an an eye center in Tucson actually capable of coming through for you. We have used Lens Crafters in the past at the location across from the Tucson Mall, but in this situation they were unable to accommodate us in the time frame we had. We didn’t realize there was a Lens Crafter inside the Mall until I Unilocaled it. The staff there from the Dr office to the eye wear center were all friendly and fun. My husband choose a, pair of tri-focals which just didn’t work well for him at his job. Lens Crafters allows you a six week satisfaction guarantee so a month later still having a difficult time with them we returned to the store. The staff remembered us, right away. They were as friendly and helpful as they had been the first time. We were able to exchange for a less expensive pair and now he has, a, second pair for reading. To summarize the Tucson Mall Lens Crafters has everything to offer you that comes with its big brand name i.e. choices, brands, prices etc plus they have the feel of a small family business. They make you fell right at home.

I am so disappointed in Lens Crafters. I have been going to this location since I was 12 years old(now 26). I had the worst experience here today. Front staff was very rude and unhelpful. Why is it so difficult to get the correct prescription to the NEXTDOOR eye wear shop??? Oh and not to mention trying to scam me to pay full eye exam… When I had it verified today with my insurance that it’s 100% paid for at this location… Made an appointment else where. My family and I WILLNEVER come back here again… Lol we go so often so please be aware that you will be losing on all of our business!!!

Cheaper than most and a big selection but be prepared to wait 30 mins for EVERYTHING! They are always understaffed. When you do get someone to help you they are rushed and disinterested. I’ll go somewhere else next time…

My recent visit to LensCrafters was fast, efficient and affordable. I think the difference to other reviews was that I had to make an appointment for my eye exam. The days of running in to get a quick adjustment on a frame are long gone, I’m afraid(and maybe that’s at least one sign of a healthy business?). My appointment was four days out which admittedly, is a little foreign to me since I’d grown so used to going in on a random lunch-break. But once I was in, the doc explained my options(it’s almost time for bifocals) and never rushed me. The sales staff gave me some help in trying on different frames, then precision fit them after they were made. I was in for a 12:30 eye appointment and out with two new pairs of glasses by 3:30. I have no complaints and will keep returning to LensCrafters as I have since high school.

Giving their employees the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they’re understaffed. Mid-morning I waited for service nearly as long as they say they’ll make your glasses. When finally«helped» the employee was distracted and not in the least bit responsive to my very simple needs. I left the store and went to a locally owned competitor, Alvernon Optical, spent a few hundred dollars, and received top notch customer service. I got the glasses that I wanted, spent $ 20 less than you would have at LensCrafters, and I don’t care that I’ll have to wait a few days to get them. Eye care represents a significant investment for the typical family, including mine. I’ll never go back to LensCrafters where they clearly don’t honor this fact. Perhaps you’ll find this helpful… perhaps not. Regardless, I feel better…

Ok I have redacted my original comments regarding this particular Lens Crafters. They(LC) have graciously compensated me for the troubles I endured over the past 10 days.

This place was not off to a good start. My appointment is at 10am and the doors didn’t open until 10:02am. I went up to the first available person to see where to go. He led me to the desk where there were 3 ladies. The two at the desk were not welcoming. They were professional, but not that friendly. They were nice to the senior citizen who arrived afterwards. The lady who ran the tests, Miranda was very friendly and sweet. Dr. Schilig was very nice. The staff that was there to help with your search for glasses were very nice and helpful. As far as the selection, very disappointing. This place 5 years ago had GREAT selections. The high end brands are somewhat there with terrible looks. They also don’t carry Bausch and Lomb for contacts. I am only going here because my vision insurance is covering it.

Lens Crafters gets three stars for fixing a problem they created. Let me explain. I came to Tucson for 35 days on a visit and after being here a week, I decided to get prescription Oakley sunglasses from them. So I went in, ordered a pair of gray Oakley 5s. They said it would be approximately ten days for me to get them because they had to send my prescription to Oakley and then Oakley would ship the finished sunglasses back to LC where they would then give them to me. So, after insurance, I paid $ 250 to get them, because I figured at least I could have the sunglasses for half of my time in Tucson(as well as the rest of my life obviously, but most importantly for use in Tucson since my job required me to be outdoors a lot here). Ten days later, they called me and I went in only to discover they had ordered me black, not gray like my receipt clearly showed, and to top it off, the famous Oakley«O» on one side was crooked. So I told them I wanted my money back, to which they replied they would re-order the correct sunglasses and then give me a full refund when the new ones came in after another ten day wait. I said ok. Ten days later, they hadn’t called and I only had a couple days left before I had to leave. So I called them and they said they had them and I picked up the correct ones and they refunded my money. I would’ve given them a two star since they messed up my order and didn’t call the second the correct ones came in(thus almost causing me to have no sunglasses at all before I left Tucson). However, since they did give me my money and the sunglasses when all was said and done, I felt they deserved one more star.

The Unilocal community seems to commonly forget what two stars means. «meh. I’ve experienced better.» Lenscrafters messed up my prescription so I came back to change out my brand new(not correct) lenses for my old, tried and true, lenses. First the lady needed to examine my sunglasses(with the tried and true prescription) to make sure that the new lenses were indeed different from the old. Upon handing me back my Gucci’s I discovered bright pink lip stick smeared across one of the lenses. Next I handed my reading glasses and my old lenses so that she could perform the swap. I told her that my left eye has 20⁄20 vision and the right needs the corrective lens. She commented on this, acknowledging that she heard and understood me, and then proceeded to put the corrective lens on the wrong side. I didn’t put my reading glasses on until weeks later, found the mistake, and drove all the way back to the mall to have it fixed. To their credit, the man who did the final lens switch was very nice. I will never again go to Lenscrafters. Their business model is to get customers in and out as quickly as possible. They don’t take their time and they aren’t careful going quickly. Unless you are uninsured and forced to take their discounts so that you can pay your grocery bill, search for a better optometrist.
