A business area’s homeowners association. It’s a good thing! I don’t have the inside scoop to fees and what not but I’m betting the ads the MGS produce are a lot better than the ones individual businesses could afford. And it’s great to visit my old stopping grounds with the great face-lift.

So many locally owned businesses down here! Main Gate houses over 60 shops, restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, tea shops, salon services, bars and more, and the majority are locally owned. Yep! An entire stretch of awesomeness in the middle of the University area that’s pedestrian friendly too! With the modern street car construction parking has been a bit tight, but they’ve got 2 garages and offer parking validation, so there’s no need to drive in circles looking for a spot right on the boulevard! Plus, parking is free on the weekends! I love coming down to Main Gate(aka. University Boulevard) because it’s always hustling and bustling with University students and locals shopping around. The variety of shops and restaurants is so diverse it’s impossible to find something you don’t like! I enjoy Wilko for great cocktails and atmosphere, and Pasco for creative farm table food. Grand Central and Pitaya are also fun locally owned shops, but those are just a couple! Throughout the year, you can enjoy FREE outdoor concerts and other awesome entertainment. I’m looking forward to the completion of the modern street car so that I can ride it from downtown all the way to Main Gate and hit up all the locally owned shops along the way! If you haven’t been to Main Gate, GO! It’s a great place to do some personal shopping as well as gift shopping… ahem…the holidays are here! Lot’s of options my friends.

I went here for Starbucks and volunteered for Ben’s Bell. We painted little stone flowers… I believe and it was fun. Not too hot but the sun was up. It is very relaxing here; especially the atmosphere; makes you want to just lay on the grassy area and read a book or look up at the clouds. Sometimes, there are people playing their music here; very soothing. They also have default bird sounds and it sounds legit. I thought there were actual birds living around there until someone told me it was just a recording. Other times when i come here, there are some events and it is very nice. I believe Bear Down Fridays, they have live band playing. Check it out; there are numerous stores and restaurants all around because it is the University’s street. Come here, sit by a bench or the grass; grab yourself some coffee or tea or water…(but why torture yourself?) and just enjoy.
