Absolutely great place… love the all red décor, great music and amazing cocktails. I enjoyed the summer pimm’s #4 and loved it! This was our favorite bar in Tucson this visit — great atmosphere, great music, great service and great drinks — a winning combination!

I came here and I was like whaaaaa? And my friend said dayummmm! My brother was like oh shit son! Went to this bar on a Saturday night. Hot girls and guys no homo. I honestly can’t say anything bad about it. If I were to own a bar, it would look and operate like R bar. Hell yeah son.

I really enjoy R Bar, I find the environment to be intimate, romantic, as well as friendly and approachable. This place is perfect for dates and for a gathering with friends. The drinks are also moderately priced, and I really enjoy their centerpiece of Tucson that hits you front and center when you walk through the main entrance

All red everything. R Bar has a cool vibe and pretty awesome décor. Its alley location adds to the feeling you found somewhere unique. Go for The Rialtor if you’re a fan of anything with ginger like me. The ginger, cardamom and lime combo hit the spot for an interesting cocktail that was very easy to enjoy. Seating is a bit limited when it’s crowded, but the patio is great for larger groups. Plus I’m down for anywhere playing The Goonies on their tv! Only drawback was the staff, it was late but is it so hard to be a tad friendly?

Craft cocktails done well in an intimate setting. Don’t forget about the upstairs seating. Rich’s recommendation: some of the specials are worth ordering for the name alone. Cocktail newcomers will benefit from the guide at the end of the menu.

It’s worth going to, just to see the backlit mural. It’s really cool!!! The only negative is how the bathrooms are arranged. Kinda crowded and I don’t like the see thru wall that is the movie screen on the other side. I prefer more privacy when I am using a restroom. Other than that, it’s a really fun, cool, interesting looking place!

Cute place. It was quaint and décor was neat. All red! The music that night was okay, not usually my type of music but they had a DJ there. They had a drink special, the Dark and Stormy. My first time trying it and I loved it! So delicious! Loved that this place showed a movie on the wall. The bathrooms were neat, if you’re a lady, go in and check it out and you’ll understand why I say that. I would come back here again when I’m in Tucson.

Definitely a place with a cool atmosphere. One time I came here and space jam was being projected on one of their walls! The art and design are pretty cool and a good conversation starter. The drinks are decently priced.

The huge desert mural inside of this place makes it very well worth the visit. The cocktails are a little pricy, but not anymore than most places in downtown Tucson. I like the small seating section upstairs and there’s always something interesting playing on the big screen(Bob Ross was painting last time I was there). Be warned it is next to the Rialto theatre so it can be quite loud and noisy. It’s worth a visit if you are looking for a different place to have a drink downtown.

For a first-time visit, our group was treated like regulars. Thoughtful, hand-crafted cocktails made to order. The Pimm’s Cup is fantastic, and the Scotch Sour was made with egg whites instead of sour mix(thank god!). The service was timely, and the décor and music is relaxed. Come in for the drinks and décor, stay for the service.

Great before or after a show at Rialto. It is a little pricey, but the space is intimate and I love the design. Worth having one drink there, just to check it out.

This place has potential and I liked that every single thing was red inside(except the bathroom sink/toilet which were white, should have put in black ones). We went on a Saturday night and they did not have table service so you had to order at the bar. The«bartender» seemed as though she had never made a cocktail before and was not very friendly. In fact the whole place had an off putting vibe. The friendliest one was the security guy who said goodbye to our party of 4. We paid $ 18 for a double vodka with a splash of cranberry which I thought was expensive since we had just left High Wire where we were paying $ 11 at the most for a craft cocktail! With all the other cool bars downtown, we won’t be back to this one.

Stopped in for the first time over the weekend and can say that this is my favorite bar after Club Congress. It’s a small, chill bar, not overly crowded, and the atmosphere is romantic: red decorations, candles on the tables, and a metal mural of the Tucson scenery lit up with lighting. There is seating up stairs, around the bar and outdoors. Drink prices are reasonable and they have nightly specials, my group had the Hula Hoop and Marlon Brando(both were citrusy). We also had cream ale and the Rialtor(came in a copper cup). I will definitely be back!

Came here as the last stop for a bar hopping Bachelorette party and I wish we had gone there sooner! I think this will be a new favorite bar for myself, the bride, and my roommate. Everything is red! It gives the place a very unique atmosphere. And I really liked that they had an old black and white movie projected on the wall. The bartenders were quick, looked really nice(on the way they dressed and they were nice to look at ;) haha) and boy do they know how to make a drink! A lot of places skimp in the booze in favor of mixers/flavors, but not here! But the liquor flavor wasn’t overwhelming either. They have a list of speciality drinks, but will make whatever you want. It’s a small but very clean bar. The chairs are eleqictic and comfortable! I will be going back to try more of their yummy cocktails!

My first visit to the R Bar was with coworkers on a pleasant evening, and we sat outside on the patio, which is mainly an alley connected to Rialto. No service to tables so you go to the bar and and there are many kinds of cool wild drinks to order. I had a couple of Manhattans and they serve them up so strong! Really really strong and tasty. Had a cream ale and some Oatmeal Stouts and they were quite delicious. The inside of the bar is the best part– just go and check out the mural and the attention to detail of Tucson landscapes. And what an experience using the bathroom with that giant television screen showing animé(I think it was animé) on it. Anyway, you’ll have to experience it. I’d go back! It was busy but never overwhelming and the bartenders were good about finding you to get your drink requests. If you’re heading to a show at the Rialto, it’s all right there for you to go in!

I stopped in here late one night after a show at the Rialto(it was a Tuesday) and it was surprisingly busy. The place definitely has a big city-type ambience, reminiscent to me of a hipster Chicago bar in Wicker Park. I really loved what the DJ was playing and even though it seemed a little pricey to me I will definitely be back.

You can go through Rialto theater and get to the R bat via the back entrance. Great way to kill time and enjoy some drinks between the door opening and the acts. Crowded bar which could means some waiting. Decent drinks and lots of options.

This place is super cool, original and hip! EVERYTHINGISRED! Their beer selection is adequate, nothing too spectacular, but they won’t break the bank and you can get your craft beer fill if you’re not too picky. The upstairs area is my favorite to sit on the weird chairs and watch whatever movie they are playing on the big projector-wall(last time it was A Scanner Darkly). Tip: go to the bathroom, it’s kinda trippy.

This is a precious bar recently opened in the alley just east of Rialto. It’s contemporary, with a lovely red hue. While it is loud, it is not obnoxious. It, at times, can be quite romantic. And it is a strong draw for people who like to show all out in their bow ties and bodycon dresses. A group of us arrived celebrating the birthdays of two in our party. While it was somewhere around 11 p.m., we were able to get seated quickly. One boon to this bar is that there is a wonderful host, Richard, who floats about to ensure that your needs are met. What a wonderful touch! Another bonus: you can order from Gio Taco while at the bar. Management has an agreement set up but the restaurant. Good deal! Also, be attentive to the mural. It has a very stark message about gentrification.

I Love, Love, Love this place, and the fact that it is all red is why I used that word so many times. From floor to ceiling every detail is thought of, and just so right and funk. The steel lasered mural depict all that is wonderful about Tucson, using every cliché piece of bad yard art sold in those creepy art fairs. There are the howling coyotes, the baby quail following their mother, A Mountain, Saguaros, and much much more, This is all delivered in over the top Fabulosity. I dig the space and will be coming back soon.
