By far the best Indian food in Tucson! I’ve only been to the food truck once and have been meaning to go back since then! Menu changes every day I believe. I had the baigan bharta and the samosas, both of which were amazing! They also let us sample the chana masala and chicken tikka masala which were both also delicious. I’m pretty sure anything you order here would be amazing though. If you are looking for good indian food, you won’t be disappointed!

The Twisted Tandoor is the best food truck in town. My coworkers and I have concluded that the food at The Twisted Tandoor is better than that in most average restaurants. TTT rolls up to my office for lunch during the week, and the line forms right away. Favorites of mine include the Tandoori Chicken, Kofta Curry, and Kathi Roll(…which is about half the menu. You can’t go wrong!). The Tandoori Quesadilla is an awesome blend of Indian and Southwest Cuisine, and a must try. This review is bittersweet, as I recently learned that Mr. Singh — half of the husband/wife team who run the truck, passed away on Friday, 8⁄21. My thoughts are with with his wife and daughter.

The review is not for a restaurant — it’s for a food truck. Woohoo! As good as it gets! I don’t see those words often on my reviews, but Twisted Tandoor deserves it. They will make your food spicy if you ask for it, but will also caution you to the inherent nature of spiciness in Indian cuisine. My meal tasted fantastic, and it came out quickly as well. The portion was larger than I expected from a food truck. A+ grade food truck, truly as good as it gets.

So good! This place has been on my radar for the last few weeks and I’m so glad I finally scored their food. Having lived in England for a couple years where authentic Indian food is all over the place, The Twisted Tandoor is right up there with my best experiences. My friend and I found the truck right in front of the Dragon Brewing Company which might be a bit of a tough place to find if you’ve never been there before. They gave us a sampler of their chicken tikki masala and chicken tandoori. Both were delicious and is what we went with. When we got our food, the sample size did not disappoint. Like, if you didn’t finish because you got full too quickly, people wouldn’t judge you for it amount of food! The chicken tikki masala is pounding with spice with solid amount of heat(I give it a personal 6⁄10 on the heatness scale.) The chicken is really tender and there’s a lot of it in the curry. Be careful with a couple bites as I found a whole cardamom seed in my mouth with a couple bites. It was a pleasant surprise for me. Along with the side of Basmati rice is an onion, basil, cilantro, etc. salad. The chicken tandoori was just as good. The chicken was packed with flavor and it seemed like there were at least two breasts of chicken in how much they served. There’s the option of having a roti instead of rice. It’s like warm naan bread that has been blessed with additional butter and oil. So good!

I’ve been to many of the Indian restaurants in Tucson, and The Twisted Tandoor is definitely the best. I’ve also been to India a couple of times, and TTT is better than most restaurants in India. Why is it the best? Several reasons. They use the freshest ingredients and spices in the food. Quality spices are so important for good Indian food. They also have a small menu, and I’m pretty sure they don’t serve any dishes that don’t meet a high standard. The menu is always changing. My all-time favorite was a coconut chicken curry. There are several things that are always on the menu. The chana masala and the samosas are both fantastic vegetarian options. I’ve never had better chana masala. The tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala are also fail-safe staples of their menu. TTT serves some interesting dishes that you probably won’t find at any other Indian restaurant. The often have beef and pork on the menu, rarities of Indian cuisine. I’ve been here enough that they know me by name. I’ve also received some advice on how to make my own Indian food better, but nothing I make can rival this place. The price seems a little high at first, but I have no gripes about paying for this level of quality. I would easily consider this to be one of the best places to eat in Tucson.

The masala and the tandoori have been amazing the times we’ve had them. They’re at a lot of the big food truck events such as Second Saturdays. Always worth buying the food, never been disappointed.

Their food is incredible. I can say that I have loved every dish I have eaten there. My favorite is the tandoori chicken. The owners are extremely nice and will tell you about their food and ingredients. I will keep going back.

Being Indian, I’m always asked what is my favorite restaurant in Tucson that I recommend for grabbing Indian food to eat. Without skipping a beat, I always say that it’s a taco truck– and NONE of the restaurants. I love Twisted Tandoor. They don’t muddle down flavors to suit an American palate. They don’t skimp on spices. It’s great food that everyone likes– from those familiar with Indian food to newbies. This place has the best chaat which is Indian street food. I stick to the veggie menu and can’t pick a favorite because they are all so good– chole(to die for) to the kati rolls(drooooool…). Go here. Try anything, play roulette with the menu– you won’t be disappointed.

Have been meaning to write a review on this wonderful truck for a while… I have never really eaten Indian food until Twisted Tandoor and I am so glad I tried it!!! Love their chicken tikka masala and always have to have an order of beef and feta samosas!!! The food off this truck is always consistent and the owners are friendly. Keep an eye out for this food truck, you will not be disappointed.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this food truck yet! Twisted Tandoor sets up at Himmel Park every Wednesday, and it is daaaangerous as it is walking distance from my house. If I had to sum up this review in a few words, I would simply say the following: Twisted Tandoor has my favorite chicken tika masala in Tucson. Alliteration FTW. But if I didn’t have to summarize(why should I?!) I would say that I have tried multiple dishes from them(masala pork chops, tandoori chicken, tandoori quesadillas, samosas) and every single one is a winner. However, that tika masala takes first place. The chicken in this dish seems to be grilled(as in tandoori chicken) and gives the dish a robust smoky flavor. The tika sauce is very flavorful –in fact you often get mouthfuls of the spices used in this dish. Keep in mind that this is somewhat of a heavy dish, with the cream used and whatnot. I feel like this food truck is a bit pricier than most food trucks out there. However, the quality is tops and the portions are very generous. I always get two meals out of whatever I order. Good service and great food from a very good-looking food truck. You can’t beat that!

i was told that twisted tandoor makes the best Indian food in Tucson so I had to try it out at the Food truck round up! the workers were really nice & my food was ready in a jiffy –$ 12 chicken tikka masala: Comes with your choice of rice or bread and yogurt chutney and citrus marinated onions. the chicken was moist & perfectly cooked! i liked the acidity of the onions my only gripe: i wish they served naan instead of that pita like bread BUT overall great indian food!

Had chicken tikka masala, husband had chicken kathi roll, and we shared samosas. Our first experience with TTT was great — this is the best Indian food available in Tucson! We have been looking since we moved here 3 years ago. Chicken was succulent and sauce was flavorful. The portions are big although I ended up with more sauce than rice which made me wish I had some naan to soak in it :) I asked for spicy and I got spicy which made me happy. It was so good even my 2 year old had some and loved it! She thought it was just a little spicy but kept asking for more hehe We will definitely be back.

I can’t figure out how to jive the reviews on here with my experience. I got chicken tikka masala and… I don’t even know what all wrong with the dish. It didn’t taste like any chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had; it tasted more like mole sauce. It was okay for what it was, I guess. I also ordered the aloo mattar with raita. This dish just wasn’t very good at all. The menu said it was vegan, so maybe the lack of ghee could explain its weird lack of flavor. finally, the veggie samosa is really tasty, if a bit more salty than I would typically prefer. I don’t understand what happened. Maybe we just caught them on and off night or something, cause I don’t know how else to explain the disparity between our experience and everyone else’s.

Pros: –Best Indian food that I’ve had in Tucson thus far! And I’m from Boston where Indian food is abundant and exceptional. –The paneer is FLAVORFUL. Not some rubbery week-old cheese that you might find in other Indian restaurants, but packed full of flavor and tastes very fresh. –The chicken tikka masala, as many reviews have pointed out, is the best and most flavorful version of the dish that I’ve ever had. –They seem to be able to handle large crowds efficiently, and the wait time to get your food is a consistent 10 minutes no matter how many people are in line(they cook everything to order). –They give you the dishes in plastic tupper-ware, as opposed to styrofoam, which you can then reuse or recycle. –They post their location on Twitter ahead of time so you can plan your week around where the TT truck is :) Cons: –They can run out of key things. Once we visited them in Himmel Park and they were out of rice! And they are typically out of some of their staple dishes a couple of hours into their shift. –They include raw onions in their wraps which will stay in your breath for the next 24 hours! And one time I asked for the raw onions to be left out and they still put them in. –If you say you want it spicy, you really need to be sure that you mean SPICY. My friend who likes spicy food could barely get through her wrap. –For their curry dishes, they don’t include quite enough rice to account for all of the sauce. I typically end up taking it home and making more rice to go along with the curry. –Each dish is ~$ 1-$ 2 more than I’d like to pay which is why I don’t eat here all of the time. All in all, this suits my Indian food craving whenever I have one, and I don’t feel the need to look for another Indian restaurant in Tucson!

OHMAGAWD. Is that enough for a review? No? OK well, my tastebuds, mouth and tummy are all thanking me right now for choosing The Twisted Tandoor at the Food Truck Roundup at Tucson Medical Center today. We had six different trucks here today and I’ve been wanting to try this particular truck for a while and Lawd Almighty, that day finally came. The chicken tikka masala is to freakin’ die for. Super tender, grilled chicken swimmng in a delightfully spicy curry sauce. Wowza. And there was tons of it in my lunch container too. I also walked back to my office with an order of samosas. I’ve only had homemade samosas at my East Indian friend’s house and they were what I thought to be average size. The samosas from The Twisted Tandoor are giant, puffy, golden pillows filled with savory, moist deliciousness. And I don’t know what the hell they sprinkled on top but YUM. I wanted to keep shoving them in my mouth but alas, no more food could pass these lips. Guess what I’m having for dinner? Leftover chicken tikka masala and a samosa. And guess who’s not sharing.

OK, OK… now I know why this truck gets so many 5 stars. It IS5 stars. We caught them at the Wednesday Food Truck Round Up on Ft. Lowell and Campbell. Outstanding food! My wife and I both had the Chicken Tikka Masala. This is grilled, marinated chicken in a curry sauce. Soooo good. It is somewhat spicy. My wife asked for hers to be «cooled down» a little bit. I didn’t make such a request. :) She had it with rice and I had it with the roti(pita-like bread). The portions were huge! The husband gave us generous samples and answered all our questions and then some. While we were eating, he came out to us and had me try some of the chili spices he was talking about. So cool. I also had the mango lassi, a mango yogurt drink. That was really refreshing to have and the flavor went great with the masala. My wife and daughter DONOT like mango. However, they liked this drink. How about that? It also came with this onion, tomato salad.(?) Condiment? And this sauce that had basil, cilantro, and garlic in it. That was delicious! I’m really happy about the generous portions because that means that I have this great dish for my lunch tomorrow!

The Twisted Tandoor is my favorite food truck in Tucson. My first experience with TT came when I was at the Dragoon Brewery over the summer. I ordered the Aloo Gobi, which I don’t see on the menu often, but if you do see it, it’s a must-try. I’ve also followed TT to Borderlands; the kathi rolls meshed well with Borderlands’ Horchata Ale, and I’m sure the Chana Masala would pair well with a darker brew. The food really is unmatched in Tucson. And what’s more exciting: very vegetarian/vegan friendly. But it’s not just that. For a few months, I was eating TT once a week. During that span, they always remembered my name – still do – and let me try the mango lassi on the house. Great people, excellent food, fair prices – does it get any better?
