Delicious!!! I came to this area to watch a movie with some friends. There was an awful lot of Filipino restaurants so we decided to give this one a whirl. I got the BBQ Chicken with white rice, and the Adobo. The BBQ Chicken was out of this world — so juicy and had a flavorful marinade! The adobo was also really good(this was my first time having adobo), but I did notice that there was an incredible amount of fat on all the meat. For the price you are paying and amount of food you get — it is well worth it!

This place was a hot mess during the lunch rush. The line was a big problem despite being run cafeteria style. The aunties tell you after they hand you your order, ‘you can pay now.’ This to me gives the impression that I can head over to the register, but really you just stay in the line you’re in bc everybody else is waiting to pay. It wasn’t just me, people were constantly trying cut. This explains why when I got there the line was so long and bunched together. The tables were a nightmare. When trying to hold a table for 6, two employees jumped onto our table and had their lunch break at our table. Looking around I noticed the tables were dirty due to the rush and there were plenty of Grill City and Seafood City employees sitting around and eating on their break, but nobody attempting to clean them. So if you eat here and your food falls onto the table, don’t eat it anymore, who knows when the tables were cleaned last. My relatives and I were at Grill City for several hours and in that time I didn’t see one table get cleaned. To be honest, it was not my idea to come here. Since I’m visiting from San Diego, my relatives dragged me here to eat so I had to order something. I ordered the Chicken BBQ with rice and a soup on the side. That soup ended up being a medium size Sinigang. After seeing and eating my dish, I could not believe that it was $ 7.50. The Chicken BBQ was alright, but nothing to brag about, the sizes of the chicken were small compared to the kabobs displayed on the monitors. The soup ended up being sinigang and it was undercooked! Every meat slice in my soup was either really tough or covered in fat. I couldn’t cut it with my fork and spoon(no knives available in the utensil section) and chewing took some effort. The same goes for my green beans, those were really hard to bite into. Yeah, this undercooked ‘soup’ was not worth the $ 7.50 either. I also shared some bibingka with my aunts and uncles which could’ve been so good but their egg bits were SOSALTY that my eyes squinted. Why Grill City? I was trying to give you a chance! Overall, I struggled to finish all my food out of courtesy for my relatives who were taking me out. But under my own accord, I wouldn’t go here. My Chicken BBQ was worth less than their $ 7.50 they charged, I’d say $ 4 – 5 with how small my kabob was. Service was okay and for that I’ll give them an additional star but really, people need to clean those tables. Seriously questionable.

FILTHY, RUDE, VOMITUS– the dining hall, the servers, the food and in that order. This Labor Day holiday I took my family to Southcenter Mall for some shopping and lunch. We often visit Seafood City for the cultural affair that it is. This visit was especially different with 3x more visitors and 0x more civilized behavior. Grill City dropped the ball and let itself go with first the filthy tables and floors, the only thing missing was an open sewer; then the servers who showed absolute disdain for their jobs; and now the food … The rice was cold, the fish was dry and the chicken adobo was off(FIRETHECOOK!). If Grill City has little respect for its business then it can be surmised that Grill City has none for its patrons.

I used to be a big fan of this place when it was fairly new. They had great choices of Filipino Authentic dishes and desserts. I think they still do but I think I got here pretty late– Filipino time that is. I got here and half of the stuff were gone. Just so ppl know, they don’t make «Crispy Pata» any more.(Besty loves this stuff!) The lady described it as being«peace out». Funny. I really wanted something they make here but it was all gone. :-( Lining up is a process bcs some ppl are just very picky and can’t make up their mind as to what they really want. Then the line doesn’t move. Frustrating especially when I’m very hungry. Weh weh weh Before I come here, I have pictured in my head what I want and hoping it’ll be there, «and» I always have a plan B just in case things don’t turn out as they should. I know. that’s just how I do things. Nuff whining, I do love anything grilled here especially their stuffed squid. Now, be careful… very high in sodium. It must be the«Ajinomoto»(MSG) This is why I detox during the week and it’s a must. On the weekends, calories should never, ever count! This is when I come alive with my palate and when I am most happy. I rarely come here to indulge on my Filipino foods, it’s far from Edmonds. Grill City is where most ppl come to to sit and eat – there are other Filipino restaurants in the vicinity but this place make the best foods and they make a lot of foods. Best time to come is when they first open up. Everything is fresh and hot, less ppl. When you get here by noon, You are late and missed out on great foods. Make sure you ask for everything you need all at once, otherwise, you’ll end up lining up again. I hope this helps. Btw, this is located inside Tukwila Mall by JCP. Visit and enjoy!

The grilled stuff tastes really good, though the 2 entrees with two cups of rice are nothing to rave about. I make better adobo than they do! But when it comes to the BBQ, chicharon bulaklak, and crispy pata! YUM! I just get«sticker shocked» coming from my Philippine vacation how expensive food is here in the states! The could re-arrange the 3 cashier registers to be more efficient is getting customers paid faster instead of bottling up. They really didn’t think this thoroughly.

MGABASTOSATMAYAYABANGNAKAHERA!!! Translation, rude and overly arrogant food servers! I have half a mind to report all of those workers to the Department of Immigration! It is shameful and disappointing. The food is cold! The steam rice is dry! The price is unreasonable and to top it off the servers are nicer to FUCKINGWHITEPEOPLE. Especially that BEKING(faggot) server! who talks down to you as if their product is the best. I hope it closes down! DONOTEATHERE!

I’ve been to Seafood City Tukwila many times everytime I visit my daughters in Bremerton. I ate at Grill City once and all pretty good food and my wife loves the BBQ skewed pork. I was tempted to eat there again but the menu board was changed and is the reason that keeps me from going in line. It’s a lot more confusing than looking at the sisig ingredients. Can;t it be simplified?, like you get this and that’s how much it is. Yes it’s chaotic during rush hour, like you’re in a school cafeteria. Not a very effective production line for the servers. The U.S. Navy ship chow line was more effecient. TIME is money folks specially if you only have a 30 minute break! I’m giving their servers 3 stars because I’m lenient :-).

I was first introduced to Grill City after visiting IKEA and Costco down south with the college friend. My initial take of the cafeteria style hotel pan/steam table stations was — I want one of each. Fortunately, if your eyes are bigger than your stomach(since these folks serve ginormous servings), just pack it up for later! Met up with family driving from Bremerton who were planning to do some serious Filipino grocery shopping at Seafood City(by the JCPenney side of Westfield’s Southcenter Mall in Tukwila). But I was there first and decided to have lunch plus scout out a table for everyone. This second visit was consistently delicious and with much better service compared to my first visit. It’s a weird thing to clearly understand the Tagalog spoken to me, but I reply back in English although I did say ‘salamat’(=thank you) at the end. Anyways, I bought six monstrous grilled/barbequed pork sticks(meat on a stick!) for $ 14. One for lunch and rest to haul home. In addition, I ordered a two entrée classic combo for $ 7.50 which included two giant scoops of steamed rice with my choice of dinuguan and pancit palabok. Other family members also had similar dishes, but also slices of tender pork belly and batchoy. Note to self — buy a package of puto from Valerio’s next door and eat with Grill City’s dinuguan. I ended up literally camped out at a Grill City table for nearly two hours, so it was great people watching. Solos, pairs, families with small kids, lots of manangs and manongs gathering over lunch, groups of co-workers. There was even two tables close by that literally stopped here to eat after picking up people from Sea-Tac International Airport. Yes, the majority of diners were of Filipino descent, but there were other ethnic groups present knowing a great culinary deal to be had. The portions are extremely generous which allows for sharing and sampling different entrees from others you’re seated with. The food presented up front, plus large colorful signage helps even the Filipino cuisine novice. Clearly very popular as the line grew snaking around the corner by Valerio’s. The staff here have quite the system going, so the service is fast and efficient with new batches of food coming out periodically from the kitchen. It was a good thing that I was so stuffed, when later I saw a huge pan of pork lechon come out. For me what didn’t score a perfect five is the huge volume of Styrofoam generated at Grill City. Tiny cups for just having water, the food containers, even the utensils and napkins, none of it were compostable. Most cities northbound know that routine, including sorting out one’s trash at bussing stations… guess Tukwila is not one of those municipalities. And despite me sitting there from ~11:30am to 1pm(watching family members purchases and shopping cart), no tables were wiped down after diners departed. At least diners here are on autopilot and actually bus their tables and benches when their done eating. Your food is served in Styrofoam containers placed on a tray, so the chances are pretty low of any icky cross contamination. Oh and turn down the air conditioning… I’m a big sized Filipina and I was chilled sitting there for two hours. If I wasn’t camped out with the family’s stuff, I would have gone searching for hot coffee or stepped outside where it’s warmer! Hours later — I’m still full. The best Filipino food is still from your respective family unit(direct, extended or otherwise). It’s just a good thing that Grill City is located way south in Tukwila. This will make any future trips from Shoreline a well anticipated treat.

I went there for lunch yesterday. I ordered a chicken BBQ skewer combo. I asked if I could add some roast pork to my order, the server said no and that I have to select from certain area of the steam table. I selected the chicken adobo. I got 2 scoops of rice, BBQ chicken and chicken adobo for almost $ 9.00. The BBQ was at room temp and the adobo was swimming in oil and was tasteless. Their cooks should dump that oil and fat out add some spices to flavor the adobo. I ended up throwing most of it away. I should’ve returned it for a refund and went to Beacon Hill’s Kusina Filipina where the food is great and hot. King County Health Dept., should pay them a visit and do a drop in inspection. I would hate for people to get sick from eating their food.

I never think of coming here to eat since it’s so far from the food court. I ordered the Grilled Tilapia, it came with rice and ‘naked salad’. The fish is whole and is stuffed with diced onions and tomatoes. It’s lightly seasoned and comes with a sweet dipping sauce, which I didn’t care for. I think it would have been better if the skin was crispy. I like the salad, it was just a bunch of chopped veggies with tofu(jicama, carrots, cabbage, green beans and garbanzo beans). Generous portions for only $ 7.99(plus tax).

Best lechon(crispy fried pork) I’ve ever had! I love fried foods. Such a weakness of mine. This crispy, tender, fatty, fried pork pieces are seasoned perfectly! The halo halo is rich, creamy, with a good balance of sweetness. The service here needs some improvement as they always seem to be understaffed. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

This Grill City branch is located inside the Seafood City market in Tukwila, Washington. Definitely, the largest Grill City that I have been to. Big dining area with plenty of chairs and tables. Line was long, but service was fast. This is what we had on our visit. Grilled pampano for $ 8.95 plus tax. Not a bad choice. Just watch out for all the little fish bones.(3 stars) BBQ chicken combo for $ 6.50 plus tax. Tasted okay.(3 stars) BBQ chicken skewer is $ 2.50 a la carte. I enjoyed this more than the other food that we tried here. Good flavor.(3.5 stars) If you are craving Filipino food(and you are in Washington state), then Grill City is a fine place to try. Do not expect anything fancy though.

Not being from this side of the US, I will be the first to admit to ignorance but is seems like this is THE place to go for«authentic» Filipino food. It is VERY busy everytime I come in here. We’ve always managed to find a table no matter how many there are in our party though(3 — 6 people) so the good news is, there is always ample seating. I don’t know why but eating at this place reminds me of eating at a school cafeteria or your typical«turo-turo» restaurant — ie., everything is already cooked and waiting for you and all you need to do is point at the food you want, let them know how much or how many you want and presto! in a matter of minutes, your«authentic» Filipino food is in your tray(yes, just like in the school cafeteria!) and you move along and buy some more food or get to the end of the line where you pay for your food and ask for eating utensils. I think it is «homey» that way. As far as food goes, I think that some of the food are not really«authentic» Filipino. It is really a mix bag. Their«barbecue» for example, is a little lack-luster in flavor but if you get the«Sinampalukang Manok»(tamarind or «sampalok» soup with chicken«manok») the sourness of the broth is pretty good. Definitely not to write home about but will have to do if you’re feeling lazy to cook your own food. The old saying definitely applies here: Nothing beats a home-cooked meal.

I haven’t had too much Filipino food before so I don’t have much to compare it to. I ordered the pork skewers and they had a nice marinade and flavor to it. Slightly chewy but tasted pretty good. I also ordered the fried pork and the lady gave me some sweet sauce for dipping. I thought it was a little bland not to much flavor but it was crunchy and tasted better dipped in sauce. There were some pieces that had a lot of fat that I just couldn’t eat. Overall it wasn’t to shabby and I would come back and try something different next time.

At first glance this place looks dirty. It actually kind of is dirty but that being said: the food is REALLY good and very reasonably priced. I think the employees are probably not so into white people(maybe English is just bad?) as much as the Filipino population, but treated me with respect and kindness just the same. I liked everything I ordered. I recommend this place especially if you have no exposure to food from the Philippines. If it was clean I would have given it 5 stars; the employees were just talking among themselves and could have been wiping down dirty tables. TRYTHEBBQCHICKENSKEWERS

There are not a lot of Filipino eateries in Seattle, and Grill City, located in the Seafood City supermarket at Westfield Southcenter, fills a need in a rather underserved culinary niche. THEGOOD: Wonderful selection of authentic Pinoy dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff. ROOMFORIMPROVEMENT: During busy periods, the serving line can be very chaotic. They also need to monitor supply of foods better, as they ran out of BBQ chicken at 11am(!) THEVERDICT: Great source for authentic Pinoy grub. Try not to hit them during a rush.

Not a bad place for Filipino food if you are in the mall. Lately I’ve been having the grilled combos. The prices vary depending on what you get. I’ve gotten the pork liempo and bbq pork skewers, which are very good. They come with two scoops of rice and your choice of sinigang, shrimp or chicken. I’ve had the chicken sinigang twice and each time it was very sour. I like sour but not to the point where you get that twinge in your cheek and have you puckering for several minutes. Each time I could only handle two spoonfuls and would end up tossing the rest. The cook’s got a heavy hand with the tamarind. I just may skip it next time. They also have the regular combos which you have a choice of pancit, rice or half of both and your choices of entrees such as diniguan, pinkabet, lechon kawali, sisig and much more. I’m picky about diniguan and here it is actually pretty good. Just the right amount of vinegar and peppers. Also available are desserts such as halo halo, turon, puto, cuchinta and carioca or cascaron, whichever you prefer to call it. Since they’ve been showing Filipino movies at the Parkway Plaza and AMC, I usually crave homeland eats so I stop here for a bite to eat. And as all Filipinos know, if you want really good Filipino food, eat at home or your Inay’s. Haha. 22⁄30

Tasty pork… Love the pork dishes and the combo especially with rice noodles is a good deal especially in the Mall. I wish some of the meat available by the pound were available for the combos. Part of the AMC theater ticket promotion(free soda with movie ticket stub).

Filipino fast food. Located inside Seafood City, this place is very popular with Filipino Americans and it’s always busy, the food is only so so, but prices cheap for the amount of food you get, specialy if you order a combo. It’s also open for breakfast.
