I was appalled when shopping here. First, we got no service, not even a greeting. Then, once we found something to buy we walked down the aisle to the front and had to squeeze by two associates who were standing there talking. When it was time to be rung up, the cashier was too busy yelling at the other people in line to even pay us attention. The store was filthy… you could tell it hadn’t been dusted or mopped in a long while. Payless, get ur act togeher at southcenter!

I love payless, for myself and my son. Lots of selection and I love their bogo sales. Lots of styles and if they dont have your size they can look it up to see if nearby stores carry them and you get a coupon off the shoes you are in need of. GREAT attention and help from staff. I really have enjoyed going to paylesses my whole life!

After being told by an associate the Airwalk Moc’s in size 7(mom’s size) would fit my disabled mother with swollen feet I was convinced to buy a pair. I bought a pair from the Fed Way store while out and about doing some shopping down there with my credit card. I gave the shoes to my mom on Christmas and despite the counter lady’s obese appearance like my mother who proclaimed she also had wide/swollen feet — the shoes did not fit. I took the shoes to our closest Payless Shoes on a trip to the mall. When I got there I was greeted by a very unhelpful sales woman who didn’t size my mother or give her much help. She was a bit«snubbed» for whatever reason. My mother felt very uncomfortable with how she was treated. She tried on a few shoes without any assistance until she found a pair that she felt more comfortable with price marked for $ 22.99. The sales lady suggested because of her feet width she just wear men’s slippers and was very rude to a disabled senior citizen. The Airwalk Moc’s I bought for $ 26.99; as a note. I brought out my card to the check out as I would at a store so they can track the purchase; even small stores can do this simple task and big large stores like JC Penny’s for example! But Payless doesn’t do this at all they said they can only use a bank statement in order to verify a receipt, which were not with mom’s shoes due to an error from the Fed Way store. I asked to speak with a manager when she offered me a return on the Airwalk Moc’s at 50% of their original purchase price. She rudely stated she was the only one I could talk to and she has worked there for many years at this store. It was either pay a difference of $ 10 loosing $ 13 in the process or having my mom not get any shoes and sell the other ones on eBay or wait until my bank statement pops in mid month. The lady rudely stated that this is to prevent«theft» returns and became accusing and rude with me. I told her she has lost a loyal customer of many years and she stated she didn’t care. I was sold snake oil by the first salesman in Federal Way and literally robbed by the Tukwila store. I will never again shop at a Payless due to their misconstrued return policies. I would never do this to any of my customers seeking a return if this were my store and it is certainly unacceptable business practice and ethics when I showed up with the credit card used for purchase, my ID, and the shoes with tags still on them in their box unworn. Payless you lost a customer who you had for a very long time until the issue is resolved and I will be in contact with my credit card immediately.

Vicky is totally correct, if you’ve got small feet, this is a great spot to check out. My girl was looking for some black boots to wear just for the night, and found a pair here in the size five she needed. What was awesome is that they were 50% off! I didn’t buy anything myself, but she was thrilled to have found what she was looking for outside of a major department store.

Small feet people… in particular, size 5 folks: This is the one Payless Shoe Source that have a big selection of shoes in size 5. Heels, boots, and not just sneakers like usual. I can find the perfect black heels in a size 5 rather than lusting after it in the size 6 row. Woo!
