I do not write poor reviews, but after Friday and again last night I am not impressed with this location for their service or food. Friday, there was only one girl working and about 7 people in line ahead of my husband and I, two of which were paying as we came in. 5 people, you would think maybe 10 at most 15 minute wait… No, 30 minutes later we were finally able to be helped and all the time watching this girl in the same pair of gloves handling food, then money, the computer, food, money –repeat– never changing her gloves the 30 minutes we waited. When we approached the counter you could see the tortillas sprawled out, edges drying and stale, counter was dirty from previous spills, some ingredients had a crust over them. Still we proceeded thru, why, I can’t tell you other than 30 minutes later we were hungry and have drove 20 minutes for a freaking burrito!!! Between the wait, the favoritism to two other patrons, a burrito dropped on the floor while preparing(only to pick up what hadn’t touch the floor and redo fillings that had fallen out), the lack of cleanliness you think we wouldn’t go back… Your wrong, the girl was fairly sweet and we figured it probably was a fluke that service was so lack luster. Nope, went back last night at 7:30pm(suppose to close at 10pm) only to find the door locked. No problem, except a woman next to me in a brash tone«they close at 7». Thanks lady, noticed when I saw the sign and realized the door was locked. As I walk away the woman who had spoke to me is let in as her friend inside, employee, and her laugh, look back at me and then go in locking the door behind them. Long story not so short, will not be going back. I would rather drive another 10 – 15 minutes out of my way to go to another location then tempt the chance of having another burrito at this Taco Del Mar. If I were the owner I would seriously reevaluate my employees and their work.

Not a fan of the location since it’s off a busy intersection and kind of secluded but I guess it’s nice that the hotel next to them has this option. We came at 7pm and it was pretty slow. There were only two other people in there and compared to how large it is inside, that made it look quite empty. The girl who helped us was nice and friendly. I got a beef burrito that was pretty good. Their chips are just okay. The theme they have with the pictures of Santa Monica and surfing are pretty cool. It’s definitely different for«Mexican» food. Overall, I was expecting my food to be mediocre but it was good enough that I’d want to come back.

See my original review below. I went back after being contacted by the manager who explained that my experience was do to the gal working there needing more training on some of the equipment. On my return visit I ordered the enchilada platter again and asked to have it heated. This time there was no problem and the food was great! In fact it was better than at other Taco Del Mars because it was heated once thoroughly where at other older locals they have to steam it twice or three times to get all the cheese to melt. I’ll be back! :) — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Original Review: I’m a fan of Taco Del Mar so when I was in Tukwila I thought I’d try this new location out. I ordered the enchilada platter. I was surprised when the girl did not heat the enchiladas. I asked her about it and she said that this new location had new equipment that did not permit her to heat it. She did say that other locations would still heat it. This did not make any sense. But what could I do? I like the melted cheese but I had no choice but to eat them cold. I won’t be back to this location.
