The 3 item combo with chow mein, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, broccoli and beef was below par. the noodles were so plain and chicken chewy. I found myself ready to barf 5 minutes after eating but I still ate my whole plate. I would never go back

I gave this place another try but no, the rice is so gross it’s dried out, the mandarin chicken is salty and the noodles are undercooked I’m sorry but no more

Most of the food you have to order, and what they have made isnt fresh, bad costumer service

Worst place ever. Chicken taste like it has been left out forever and heated by steamed water. Steamed rice is dry. Chowmein taste as if it was cooked with fish. Bad fishy taste.

Don’t try and order from the on-line menu. When you try to order a 3 item combo it supposedly comes with«fried rice and chow mien PLUSANY3 entrees… NOTTRUE!!! Will NEVER go there!!! Staff LESS than helpful!!!

Very delicious food and clean facility only downfall is its way to warm inside the restaurant and a bit overpriced but all in all great food paid $ 12.95 for only 1 combo with double BBQ pork and chow mein and 1 can of 10 calorie sprite soda.

Love the food here. The bbq pork was way way good. Not only that but the dude hooked me up too and filled my to go plate. Customer service was awesome. Not sure about the chow mein though. It was alright. Everything was good. The boba taro flavor is perfect. Go here if you’re hungry and are looking for Chinese food. No regrets here so come on down.

That tofu though! This spot makes a mean deep fried tofu(which basically defeats the purpose of a meatless option) that puts many other veggie dishes to shame. The little fellas cooking in the back keep it more real than virtually any other Chinese spot I’ve been to in Tulare County that adheres to the Chinese takeout code of conduct: always hot, always good and always a little sketchy.

Food was descent overall. Wasn’t very fond of the chow Mein. Fried rice was pretty good and orange chicken was ok. Got the 1 item combo.

I love Chinese food but I’m only giving this place two stars I prefer to go to China inn. Food is way more fresher there, combo meal was pretty expensive here as well

This will be my second time visiting china bowl, food is horrible and old. Go to panda or china inn at least the food is fresh.

Was passing through and wanted to give it a try. I ordered the Tofu with Green beans… it was delicious! It wasn’t oily, the green beans were crispy, and enough tofu to fill me up with a little bit of rice. It came with a side of steam rice(about a cup and a half). Sorry I didn’t take a picture. I prefer the«made to order«food but my kids liked the perfectly prepared BBQ pork. It had the beautiful glaze and smokiness on the outside, while maintaining the moisture and sweetness of the pork inside. If we end up stopping through for Chinese at Tulare, I’d stop there again. The young man that helped me was kind and very informative about the food. He mentioned that they dont use MSG. I also enjoyed listening to how they make their food; they really have the passion to feed people. I also appreciated that he really tried to make sure my entire family was satisfied with their meal. Hey, if you’re reading this review, thank you for the delicious meal and very pleasant customer service. Wish you guys the best!

Very good food compared to panda and all the Chinese places in porterville. Its worth the drive. Orange chicken is just ok, however the have a chicken that starts with a g I forgot the name of it. But I was way better than the orange chicken. Egg drop soup was yummy as well. Very please and will come back if I’m in the area and craving chinese.

China Bowl is an establishment located in the strip mall along Prosperity, in proximity to Evolutions and Lowes. It has plenty of parking. It is set up a bit differently from a typical restaurant, and acts more like a cafeteria with booth seating(very similar to a well-known fast-Chinese-food chain). There is the option to dine outside, which would be quite lovely with the fountain, in good weather. There isn’t much in the way of décor aside from paper lanterns and a waving neko; the beige and green color palette was easy on the eyes. The lady behind the counter was pleasant, but seemed a bit rushed. The prices are somewhat decent(4.89 for a 1 entrée take-out combo plate). We ordered three of these plates, they come with an entrée of your choosing along with fried rice and chow mein. While we weren’t offended by the food, it did nothing to impress us either. The entrees were okay. My fellow diners said theirs were bland, but I found mine to be sufficient. The chow mein consisted of mostly noodles, with very few vegetables. It was passable but a bit gummy(or «underdone» as a fellow diner said). The rice was good. This food is on par with the other well-known fast-Chinese-food place. In fact, it is about a dollar cheaper. I would recommend China Bowl if you happen to be on that side of Prosperity and didn’t want to have to drive to the other side for the chain restaurant or if said chain restaurant is busy.

This place is in no way comparison to the Panda Express! It is WAY Better! I’ve had my fair share of Orange Chicken but this place makes the chicken super nice and crispy most of the places I’ve tried have soggy generic orange chicken. The sauce has lots of flavor and is thick and sits of top of the chicken nicely. David the cook loves what he does and is Great when it comes to customer service very personal and genuine. Need more places like this and less generic franchise places that have below average food.

The owners are great. They do catering and for less than 200.00, you can feed a party of 20 – 30 people. The price is affordable and the food is great. They are one if the few Chinese restaurant that still serve BBQ pork. I will definitely come back and order again.
