Sat in the patio and enjoyed the view. Good list of beers and sushi was good. Our waitress was a little high strung but still good service. Had live music on Thursday nights which was nice.

Fun spot for American-style sushi. Parking can be a pain but the views of midtown are beautiful around sunset. Make a reservation if you plan on eating before 6, as it fills up quickly. The sushi is great, if you like American-style sushi with cream cheese and non-traditional ingredients. The edamame is pretty heavily salted and peppered. The gyoza(fried Japanese dumplings) are the best I’ve had in town. The sashimi is pretty hit-or-miss, but you can’t compare it to fresh fish from LA or New York. The menu has a great selection of rolls and creative drinks.

This is my favorite sushi bar, best thing we live really close to it! Good and drinks always great, Asian boy in the bar«the best»! Friendly and always remember us, not by name but what we like to drink! Haha! Unfortunately; last night, me and my friend decided to step out to smoke a cigarette, we left our jackets and phones on our table, then the girl was waiting on us had the audacity to scream at us from the bar«you guys haven’t pay!!!» In front of everybody! That was soooooo embarrassing since people turn around and keep looking at us! Because of that, next time we decide to go there, if we see her we won’t stay! It’s sad because we need to star looking for a new spot to hang out with our friends! When we have friends from out of town«in the raw» is the first place we take them to show what tulsa have to offer! for that girl! I wish I could remember her name! And I think she was pregnant! Poor baby!

We went for a birthday party on a Saturday for a party of 20 and it was jammed packed. We ordered a bottle of wine but we are sure they charged us for that and some other drinks at the bar. Takes 30 mins to get sat even tho we had reseverations. We order and the food came an hour later. Most people ordered sushi so it should not have been hard to keep things going. My man ordered a salad and it came with no dressing. Took 10 mins for the server to finally come back with it. Not very good service. Food was just okay.

Getting there a little later… 8:00pm, the happy hour crowd had moved on. Friendly hostess that knew what was going on got us seated. Server was knowledgeable, helpful and did a great job. ITR salad, and all rolls were excellent. Highlight of the night was the 6151 Roll with Lobster…$ 28. This place is not for the weak hearted… dinner for 4…$ 150 Still best Sushi place in Tulsa! and the view is awesome!

Perhaps because I’m American, I like tons of crap in my sushi. Rumor has it the types of rolls I like at ITR are not authentic, but what are ya gonna do? Send me out another Nirvana roll, please! The Brookside location of ITR marked my introduction to sushi. I’m not a huge seafood fan, and raw fish — yech! After a couple of visits in the early aughts with friends, however, I finally bothered to look at the menu and discovered that sushi is *not* necessarily raw fish(or even fish, in a few cases). I don’t remember what I ordered, but I immediately became a fan. It was apparently a gateway drug — I’ll order tuna sashimi today without batting an eye. The 61stITR is a fabulous location on a hill with clean modern décor, and a great patio with views over Tulsa. Fried rice, teriyaki bowls, and salads on the menu mean that the squeamish can find something good to eat — although make them look at the menu! I badgered my husband for years and now he’s a fellow fanatic. My personal favorite is the Nirvana roll — the spicy sauce and the blackened eel topping just make that roll. The blackened tuna is good as well, or go for the tuna sashimi nachos. Just be adventurous — you may be surprised by what you love rather than loathe!

In The Raw is a fantastic sushi place. This hilltop sushi restaurant has the best view in Tulsa and slings the sushi to match. Amazing atmosphere, excellent service and some of the best sushi I’ve had makes it a standard I measure all sushi places against. I miss this place since moving away and will always try to find a friend who wants some sushi at In The Raw.

Went out tonight to try something new, and my boyfriend and I really heard great things about this location. Of course there is the view, which is amazing. but it stops there. Got a table really fast the place was loud, but it was a football night. so it was understood. The table we got was really of tilt and or waiter noticed didn’t move us, but fixed it after he saw us trying to. Now the pricing of the sushi is .eh. I usually get a basic roll then something more expensive. Coming out to about $ 17 max all together. Here it’s hard to do that or we would end up paying $ 25+ easily per person. That may be a downfall for others. Also for at 8.50 I got 6 pieces in my roll, and was expecting atleast 8. This is just for those who concider price. Now the service the waiting staff seemed nice, and the waiter we got seemed newish… He was timely everything was good. He said kind of socially awkward jokes, we laughed anyway. When he cleared the table he asked about desert, and I said No thank you(going to the movies after. so popcorn!) Then he fires of one of those socially awkward jokes saying, «Man you said that fast, are you on a diet or something.» I just started laughing out of awkwardness I shrug it off and said, «No, but you shouldn’t say that to a lady.» He then realised. Overall you could get better sushi and atmosphere else where in the town, but I could understand going here out of convince. I wouldn’t make the drive south for this though.

My favorite In The Raw location! Great food and amazing view! It’s fun to watch the sunset over the city. But the parking is a mess! Get there early to get a close spot!

Despite the cackle of children in the table behind me, the sushi was top notch. I really feel like ITR is the best sushi in Tulsa. My wife and I put down a volcano roll, a cody 2, and a keaton roll… and I probably could’ve done more. We like to go out south because it just seems a bit nicer and it’s a great view of downtown. The only downside is it’s a little pricey. It’s the only place to eat sushi in my mind, so we deal with the price.

This location has a great view. You can see the buildings downtown, it’s best during the sunset. I started out with sake bombs(first time trying it this way) & it was good. I don’t even like beer but it goes down smooth with the combination of the sake. They have a special menu of rolls that are not on their regular menu. I wouldn’t have known that if it wasn’t for the waiter(who was quite entertaining). I got the Red River roll. Scallops, special spicy sauce, I really couldn’t remember what it was rolled in but I know it was slightly deep fried, which made it even better. Had some other seafood components as well. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had.

In the Raw South is my favorite restaurant in this part of town(generally in the neighborhood surrounding St. Francis Hospital). It’s not cheap, but the food is consistently good. They offer a few different Japanese dishes, but I’ve only tried the rolled sushi as an entrée, which is also probably true for most customers. I enjoy edamame as an appetizer — they steam it and then cover it in a salty mix that tastes like seasoned salt. This is a great appetizer because you can eat quite a few, converse(because it’s not messy), and not be full before the main course arrives. I’ve had many of their different rolls. They have common flavors(California, Philly, etc.) but also different variations that can be salty or sweet. The rolls with jalapenos are good as well those with avocado. Their tap beer collection is limited — I believe they only have Asahi on tap, which is disappointing. They have an additional list of both domestic and imported beers that are bottled. The restaurant itself is in a fun location because it’s on a large hill overlooking much of Tulsa. You can easily see the towers of downtown as we as a host of other landmarks. Parking is a little challenging due to the hill it’s on and you’ll have to climb some stairs to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is very dark inside and extremely loud when full due to the tile floors. I really like the food of In the Raw South and the great views of Tulsa.

I love this place. Hands down best sushi in Tulsa. We sit at the bar for better service. The décor is pretty and fun, and the view is spectacular at sunset especially. The drinks are good but a bit pricey. Some people feel the menu prices at too high but they are overlooking the quality and preparation. The products are superior and prepared well every time. They are feat at «hot food hot» and«cold food cold” — extremely important for flavor and texture of raw fish.

So my husband and I made reservations for 7:30 on a Saturday night and planned on going after seeing a movie. The movie was over sooner than we expected so we went to the restaurant about an hour early to see if we could get in. We waited about 20 minutes before being seated, which was not bad considering how early we were. We were seated at the window and had a view of downtown. It was pretty, but I bet it would be stunning in the daylight. The restaurant was very loud and our waiter was very busy. He was a bit slow getting to us, but he was very knowledgeable about the sake menu and helped my husband with some great choices for a sake flight. For an appetizer we had Phil’s Diablo Shrimp which is tempura fried and then tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce. The shrimp were way overdressed in what was really just a spicy mayo sauce. They were soggy and clumped together in a bowl, drowning in sauce. Would not recommend. We also had the Chocho Beef which were 4 small skewers of grilled steak with an avocado drizzle and chopped peanuts on top. The beef was so flavorful and tender and juicy. The sauce was a great compliment. We also ordered the Dunwell roll, ID Roll and the Volcano Roll. The Dunwell roll was one of the cheapest on the menu and it showed. It lacked flavor. The ID Roll was probably my favorite and I don’t usually like tuna, but it had seared tuna on top and I loved it. The Volcano roll was also very good, but there was a bit too much spicy mayo on top and I’m not sure there were any scallops on top. If there were they were chopped up into almost matchstick shapes which more closely resembled cucumber. For the price of the roll, it didn’t quite deliver. All things considered, we could have got more bang for our buck at another sushi restaurant in town. This place is trendy and maybe a bit over-hyped.

Here’s the deal. I’ve been avoiding reviewing this place for various but no real apparently good reasons. I’ve always thought of In the Raw as way to «shi-shi» and over priced. The truth is, the atmosphere is a bit on the hipster trendy side and their sushi is a bit over priced; but… it’s good. Everything tastes fresh and I appreciate the fact that the majority of their rolls do not in fact contain crème cheese. And if you plan right, you actually can easily get away with spending less than $ 20 a person. I’ve mostly ordered take out from here the past few months instead of eating in. The wife and I split the vegetable tempura, which provides lots of food for very little in costs(like $ 7) and then we split 3 or 4 rolls. My favorite and recommended rolls are: Cody Roll SC Slug Roll Oh My Goodness roll Stay away from their Rainbow Roll, that is a huge and overpriced mess. It’s essentially a crab salad roll, which is then covered with another wrapper of nori and then an even more obscene amount of rice, then fish. Also, while the view on top of the Tulsa Hills is nice, I’m always fearful of the perceived deadly parking arrangements.

I had my birthday dinner at In The Raw this last weekend. I am a big fan of the restaurant on Peoria and since this one is newer and close to my house, I decided to have my birthday dinner there with my family. Unfortunately, this was not the greatest experience. First of all, this location is awesome. It sits on the hill and overlooks all of Tulsa. It really is a great spot. The restaurant is also very trendy and well decorated. Upon entering we were quickly seated. From there our experience began to drop off. The main problem was our server. He was the SLOWEST server I have ever had. We sat and waited for quite some time before he even came for drink orders. Once he took the order, it took twice as long for him to bring them to us. He then left again and didn’t return for a food order for at least 15 minutes. We ordered a Volcano Roll and a Not Raw Combo, to which he verified a NOT Raw combo and made a joke about one word could get us a totally different plate. He then left. We waited a fairly average amount of time for the sushi to be made but when he delivered it, he brought a Raw Combo. He walked off without a word and we had to call him back over to get him to correct the order. It took several minutes to get the correct order. He left the new order again without a word or apology. We were not given refills at all(and that sucks while eating a Volcano Roll) and he never came to check to make sure everything was good. After we finished eating we waited for at least 20 minutes before the server returned to bring a check. He took our payment and then didn’t return for another 20 minutes or so. It was not like the server was running around super busy, when he left our table he was nowhere to be seen. I don’t know what he was doing but our time and experience was not a concern of his. The sushi was excellent. I have no complaints about the food, but the service was really terrible. We were there for almost an hour and 45 minutes when we should have been in and out in less than an hour. I think if I want to eat some sushi, I will go to the In The Raw on Peoria or try something new.

Amazing view! Patio is a great place to watch the sunset while having some sushi and cocktails. The inside is extremely noisy and would recommend sitting outside if you can. Went once for dinner during the week and the waitress was very clumsy, dropped things, brought wrong drinks with the excuse«they never trained us on the drinks», and then brought the check before we were even finished eating(we would have stayed and dank more) because she«had a migrane». The food was good, so came back. It was a busy Friday night after 8:00, but the service once again was lacking. The waitress greeted us very briskly asked what we wanted to drink. My dad and I were ready but my sister wasnt sure, but instead of offering a drink suggestion, she said she’d «come back» rather rudely. The food came out in a timely manner and the tuna wonton nachos were amazing! The drinks just took so long! They ran out of sake cups, so the server came and apologized but left my sisters martini and her boyfriends beer sitting by the bar for over 10 minutes while she waited for cups for the sake, when we would have preferred for her to at least bring the drinks that were ready rather than leaving them sit. It took about 20 minutes each time to get a drink.

Great atmosphere and awesome view of Tulsa. I love sushi and In the Raw has great innovative rolls and interesting, tasty salads. There’s pretty much something for everyone. If you want cooked foods, you can choose from chicken dishes and wraps… Baked or fried. The fried rice looked amazing too.
