Best sushi I have had to date in Tulsa. Very fresh and innovative. Staff was super friendly and attentive. They have a great rewards program too where you get $ 10 for every $ 100 — great deal if you eat sushi a lot. Prices were reasonable as well. Took my mom who doesn’t eat sushi and they had a great variety of standard Asian fare for her that was also really great and large portions. Highly recommend!

Kirin was great once again. Had the American dream sushi roll along with Hunan chicken lo mein this time. The roll consists of spicy tuna, avocado topped with salmon, tuna, white fish, eel and yellowtail. It’s really hard to decide what to order here with everything on the menu being so appetizing. The food at Kirin is above par, fairly priced and is a solid choice for an Asian fusion option.

After finding the wait at Yokozuna to be one hour long, we went to Kirin for the first time. We were seated immediately and the food was delicious! Being new, Kirin is like a hidden gem. I want to praise it so it stays in business, but, of course if it gets busy, I won’t be seated immediately, next time! Given the tradeoff, I prefer it to stay in business and potentially wait for a seat. :)

Ate here twice in Nov, in the area for business. I liked this place so much the first time that I returned the next evening. Service was great, food was delicious – fresh, and hot. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I had lunch here with a groupon a few weeks ago. Food was good, though they did mess up my order the first time and tried to blame it on me. The real culprit though was our communication gap. Also, when you see something on the menu and it says deep fried don’t automatically expect that it has a batter — for example when we think of fried chicken, we expect batter — but the meal I ordered(so sorry cannot remember the name) said it was deep fried but did not have any batter on it whatsoever, but it was still very delicious. My daughter had the sushi and she loved it. We will probably go back at some point but we don’t live in the area so it won’t be a regular eating spot for us.

This is my new favorite place to eat! The sesame chicken is by far the best I’ve had, it’s such quality. It doesn’t taste like cheap generic Chinese food. Their lettuce wraps are phenomenal, just as great as P. F Chang’s lettuce wraps. They have really good egg rolls too! My fiancé got their sushi, and it’s also very delicious and fresh. You need to try this place! Right now! :)

This place has good food, service leaves a bit to be desired but as long as you order something AS-IS it’s fine. If you have it modified you may or may not be well suited. Sometimes they remember or know to write it down(or understand you, depending on the server) and sometimes not. They do well with correcting your order for no charge though. Good food just a tad too much hassle to know what may be known(like vegetables they have) or forgotten(leave sauce on the side).

Finally decided to try out Kirin, since there was a good Groupon deal! We ordered the kimchi fried rice, shredded pork in garlic sauce, and mapo tofu. The kimchi fried rice was good; however, I wish there was more kimchi flavor, more color(it looked a bit bland… Maybe more scallions or kimchi to liven it up?), and I wish it was served with a fried egg on top. I don’t mean to put the dish down because it was very good fried rice! but I wouldn’t consider it «kimchi fried rice.» I would say the fried rice was the 2nd best out of the 3 dishes we ordered. The shredded pork in garlic sauce was good and very flavorful. The mapo tofu was the best out of the 3, and probably one of the best tofu dishes I’ve had in Oklahoma. The tofu was perfectly soft and the overall dish was rich in flavor and spice. I would definitely return just for the mapo tofu! I had a really good experience and I’m looking forward to trying out the sushi menu!

This is a new place that I like. I love the southwestern roll and the eggplant, highly recommended! Also, this place is very new, clean and people who work there are all very nice. It is very comfortable place.

Great lunch place! ‘Haven’t been here for dinner, yet. I’ll also be back to try the sushi. My favorites are the vegetarian egg rolls for an appetizer and for the main course: Mapo Tofu(favorite!)* — and rather hot, too! Eggplant in garlic sauce. Note they also have free wi-fi, so you can get some work done while your there if it’s not during their peak lunch time. The background music is a nice touch, too. It’s always jazz or singers and standards from the 40’s — 60’s. The prices aren’t always agreeable. Those delicious vegetarian egg rolls are $ 2 each and I just can’t live without at least 2 of ‘em.(Tip: They offer a _great_sriracha sauce for those egg rolls instead of the gloppy sweet stuff! If you like hot, try it! Awesome flavor! BFM

Had lunch here today and everything was excellent. Service was great as well as our meal. We shared a spring roll and egg roll – both of which were very delicious! I ordered the lunch sesame chicken(a generous portion for lunch option!) and my mom ordered the shrimp tempura roll. Both meal items were delivered timely to our table and we really enjoyed them! I used a groupon I had found online – still thought the food was a fair price w/o the coupon. Atmosphere is calming and clean. I would gladly eat here again & would refer friends and family here for a nice meal.

We started with the Crazy California roll(Cali roll topped with eel). It was excellent. Then had hot and Spicy shrimp, Mongolian chicken and broccoli chicken lunch entrees. The shrimp lived up to its name and tasted great. The beef and chicken were both very good. Lunch prices were a real value. Will definitely try at dinner.

I probably wouldn’t have known about this place were it not for the $ 12 Groupon for $ 20 lunch for 2. Decent sushi and kids meal. Desert was pretty good too(cheesecake). Atmosphere was nice and not too busy on a Saturday afternoon.

Update: Last time we were here, I gave this place 5⁄5 stars. However, I needed to come back and update my review. My brother in law was wrong about the sushi. I ordered it here last week and was very impressed by the freshness and presentation. Still a 5⁄5 star restaurant despite the surly waitress. 8÷22÷15 Pros: Tried to eat at Osaka, but they were way too busy. Always see this place on our way to Osaka and decided to give it a try. A friend had tried this placed months back and said the sushi was OK. After glancing through the menu, I knew right away that I wanted both the crispy soft tofu and the Chinese eggplant. It didn’t disappoint. The eggplant was flavorful and had a good texture. The tofu was also very good. I will definitely get those two items on my next visit. My husband got the hand made dumplings. He paid the highest compliment to them, «they taste like my dad’s.» Hubbie also liked the pad thai, «there was meat with every bite.» Apparently, the pad thai here has chicken, shrimp, and tofu. I don’t understand the complaints about service? Our waiter was great. Attentive and patient. The manager was very understanding about this embarrassing situation we had – the baby sitter dropped the kids off early ATTHERESTAURANT and the kids brought Arby’s with them. The kids may have brought food, but they didn’t eat any of it. Instead, they gobbled up what I ordered for dinner. My brother in law and husband liked the décor. Cons: Brother in law got the sushi. Sushi was OK, but the actual food was way better. Maybe all the Unilocal reviews complaining about service were about the female server. She didn’t directly wait on us, but she looked like she was having a miserable day.

I came in for lunch with a group because one girl had a Groupon(purchase $ 20 of food for only $ 12). I ordered the pepper steak lunch; it was alright, to me something about it didn’t taste good. A couple bites in, I found a sticker on a piece of bell pepper… Like those stickers that come on vegetables and fruit when you’re at the grocery store. Had to send the dish back and they remade another one for me fairly quickly. Still, same taste that personally I didn’t find pleasant. A friend had the sesame chicken and I really liked it. Very much regretted what I ordered. Oh, also I got the Valentine’s roll and it was delicious. The presentation was very nice and luckily the taste matched the look. I’d definitely go back for the sushi. Everyone else at my table enjoyed their dishes, I unfortunately ordered something I didn’t quite enjoy.

I feel bad writing a two star review for this place because they really are trying but the food was just plain awful. Neither of us finished our meal. Our waitress was not knowledgeable of the menu. When I asked what vegetables came with the plate she would say«whatever you want.» I asked her if the kung pao came with broccoli and she said«yes, we can add it». So again I asked what actually DOES come with it and she said again«whatever you want.» When we received it didn’t have broccoli. It was not tasty and the quality was poor. The positive here would be the décor, the portion sizes and the kind, yet poorly trained/menu educated service. We actually cancelled our second Groupon and got a refund.

Nice décor, peaceful atmosphere. Went during lunch time and it was semi busy. Only had one waitress on the floor but she managed the tables well. Food came out fairly quickly. The rolls were ok, good size, ok flavor but I’ve had better elsewhere. Not a bad place on this side of town for a quick Asian lunch or dinner but probably wouldn’t come here if I didn’t have a groupon.

We had spring rolls and pan fried pork dumplings for an appetizer. The spring rolls had a great peanut sauce, but very little shrimp. The dumplings came out after our garlic shredded pork, which was disappointing. This being a Tuesday night, our waiter seemed inexperienced and not very efficient. The dumplings were ok. Nothing overwhelmingly great. The main course had a lot of flavor. We will try again!

Writing a review for Kirin is a little difficult. If I were going to write a review based solely on the food, then I think a four to five star rating would be appropriate, however, based on the service, a rating of two or three would be more on point. So meeting somewhere in the middle, I would say that a three and a half star rating would be about perfect. Since I can’t give half star ratings(and giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt since it is newly opened) I will round up to four stars. We went in on Saturday at about 5:00 to get an early dinner. We were seated immediately. The menu was large and had pictures of many of the dishes. We ordered Orange Chicken, a Volcano Roll, and a Philadelphia Roll. The Orange Chicken was really great and served with steamed rice. The Volcano Roll was fried and had a little spice to it, but it wasn’t as hot as it could have been. The Philadelphia Roll was standard but well made with a nice smokey flavor on the salmon. Our meal totaled $ 36(ish) and included two drinks. The service was subpar. Our waiter was a little overbearing while trying to take our order, and then basically vanished once the food was served. We sat without refills for our entire meal, only getting a refill after we had finished eating. We also waited for an extended period of time for him to bring us a check, even though he had cleared our table of our plates. I finally handed him my credit card as he walked past for the tenth time to signal that I was ready to pay so that I could leave. The restaurant is clean and well decorated. It has nice atmosphere and tons of potential to become a regular spot, but the service needs to be reeled in a little bit.
