I use to eat here all the time then the quality kindly dropped off. I believe they noticed because I went back a few years later and it was on point. Both the grilled and fried chicken were good, fries were good, and surprisingly even the slaw was good. I’ve been back several times since then and the quality has continued. So I would recommend this as a stop especially for lunch.

Abner’s is very similar to a Zaxby’s. Food has always been hot and delivered to the table. I try to shy away from reviewing fast food because there are so many variables to a particular visit, but I’ve never had a bad experience here.

While the original Abner’s is in Oxford, MS this one is in Tupelo. It is much bigger than both of the Abner’s in Oxford. The food was great and we got it relatively quick. The staff was nice and didn’t seem to hurried even though it was lunch and it was packed. The only real problem I had was my wife didn’t know who Walter Payton was. She rode in the back on the way home.

Food is fresh and good! Had to wait awhile, but at least it was cooked to order. Great customer service too!

Abner’s has great chicken. Now that I no longer live in MS I miss it as I think they are much better than Zaxby’s. The Abner’s sauce is great with the chicken tenders. Both the fried and grilled tenders are delicious. My husband and I always stop here for a quick lunch when we are driving through Tupelo on the way to see his family.
