El Pollo Loco

Yesterday I drive thru this El Pollo Loco to get a chicken avocado burrito and 2 churros. This is what I’ve been getting for the past year, I decide to make a quick stop at this location and do my usual order, keep in mind I ALWAYS drive with sunglasses on. The cashier was a nice young man. I get my food and I head off to work around 12:45pm. I wake up the next morning to recover a Facebook message from Matthew. He asked me if I drove through EPL yesterday. I recognized him as the cashier from the drive thrue, I do not know how he was able to identify me that easily since I ALWAYS drive with sunglasses on.
I am afraid that he took down my debit card information to find me. I have recently had fraud issues with my last bank and I had JUST switched over to a different bank THE DAY BEFORE I drove thru EPL.
IF my debit card information was taken down, I am absolutely FUCKING FURIOUS. So no okay.

This location is better positioned in their shared parking lot as far as the drive-​thru goes. The service is also fast and friendly. They are convenient as far as finding them on the drive home. Also, nearby some other stores that I frequent in the area.
The menu has changed, and no longer carries the double chicken burrito that had been my buddy on occasions. So now I just get the avocado chicken, it’s perfect and I actually finish it. There is still a double chicken menu though. It just veered into the healthier choices for those with that conscience.
I’m thankful that they don’t forget to ask if I want any salsas, cuz I’m hooked on the avocado sauce !! I drink them from the container like sake shots, but that’s only due to the commuter dinner status. Must create a neat way of eating while on the road.
It was here I tried the tres leches cake which has been discontinued (sad without tears). It’s okay, their chicken is their signature. And they still have churros — 2 for $ 1.29
For roasted chicken, I like their flavor. Chicken is not dry or too oily or over salty. Making me want some right now. I’d choose El Pollo Loco meals over KFC’s anyday, if I’m craving a heavy grub. And their prices are decent.
Props to Daniel C. who’s helped me a couple times. That dude can multi-​task and he’s like chop-​chop ! Needed skill in this work field. I’ll be seeing ya’ soon ! Keep up the good work.

I signed up for Unilocal specifically for this revew. I went here with my family for dinner. The cashier was sweet and polite. I didn’t want corn or tortilla chips in my salad as I am diabetic and can’t eat it but when I got my salad it was in there. When I brought it to their attention I was told that they could not accomodate my request. I was very disappointed. When we got home with the food. Everything was a mess. The other salads were put together with no care, as if everything was just thrown into the plates. There was a hair in the salad dressing. The sides were ¾ full. The chicken was very skimpy and dry. I used to love El Pollo Loco but this place might have just changed my mind. I won’t be returning to this place that’s for sure.

I was come to this el pollo loco because it’s next to my house and a easy stop off the freeway but I always forget I shouldn’t go because they always mess up my order because they have teenagers who don’t really care about there job. I always order churros and they never have the cinnamon or sugar on them that sucks ! Order no salsa and extra cheese and they always put no cheese with salsa. Then ask how many sauces on the side I want only to not give me what I asked for I mean really why ask if your not gonna give me what I ask or pay for unhappy kid when we get home.

I come here atleast 2 – 3 times a week. If you come during lunch hour it’s faster to just walk inside instead of waiting in the long drive through lane.
I’m always satisfied w my meal (double chicken avocado salad) and it’s always really fresh!
My one complaint is I the customer service isn’t always great and you can tell some definitely don’t want to be there or enjoy their job.
To that I would like to add every time I order drive through with Kenneth he always gives his 100%! He makes the experience enjoyable and always makes sure to check the order and wishes a great day. Always has a positive attitude and that should be carried through out the crew.

Cool people here only. This staff is great. High energy and kind. Catherine is so kind with every customer. I drive thru most often and I always receive great customer service. I have dined inside and the experience is great as usual. Thanks

This location sucks. Dirty everywhere and so unorganized. Other locations offer cilantros, onions, lemon, hot sauce, wet naps, jalapeño, etc. from the salsa bar but this location only offered 2 types of salsa and 2 hot sauce. Chicken was over cooked so the skin was chewy too. Ruined my lunch.

Didn’t want to cook the other night for my family of 7. (we have 5 teenagers) so My husband ordered 16 piece & a 10 piece meal and 6 sides for our family dinner. I was pleased they got everything right with our take out order and We didn’t wait very long. The cashiers & manager were friendly. This el pollo location is better than the others around this area.

Today I was craving chicken so I stopped for the eight piece leg and thigh box. The employee seemed shocked that i was eating there and only wanted one plate. She asked if i was eating the chicken myself. Eight pieces of chicken isn’t much. I finished and wanted more.
They give you a table buzzer for when your order is ready. Mine went off, and They were already bringing the food before I could get up which was cool.
The chicken is only so so and the salsa kind of sucks but I was hungry. The place was clean, and the workers were all nice. I would come back.

Ive been here three times and they’ve failed to have cheese in any of my quesadillas. My co worker told me to «get a CHEESE quesadilla and add chicken, that way you will definitely get cheese.» Oh great idea. If only they thought the way my co worker did. I got my quesadilla, No cheese and dry chicken. Its too bad I dont have time to go back after I’ve waited in the drive thru on my lunch or in the dining area and left without checking my order first.
But this last visit, I’ll specifically ask the girl to make sure there is cheese in the avocado shrimp quesadilla. She laughed and said «oh of course there’ll be cheese in it, its a quesadilla.» Oh ok. Well I’ll get two tosdadas as well since I have a little more time and my co worker is with me. Great! And I’ll have it HERE FOR DINE IN.
Why did it take over fifteen minutes, «we’re working on the quesadilla.» Oh awesome! Im excited, its going to be delicious I just know it! My order was placed in a TO-​GO bag and my quesadilla was cold. Maybe ten strands of cheese. What takes fifteen minutes to make if you aren’t going to heat/​melt the cheese in the ONLY HOT ITEM in my order?! Very disappointed. (I dont know how to post a photo on this Unilocal thing, but you’d be able to see (and count) the strands of cheese and tortilla after dumping the filling into my tostada bowl lid to eat. There is no way the tortilla would be as «clean» as it was if it was a legitimate quesadilla.)

Only one word to describe this place: Ghetto. When it’s slow, the workers are talking loudly/​cursing/​yelling between themselves and just acting so careless. When it’s busy, they don’t know how to handle it. I once waited 15 minutes for a BRC burrito and the lady who served it to me was extremely flustered.
Expect to be ignored after your order has been placed. I always have to wait a couple minutes before anyone notices me so I can ask for jalepeño hot sauce packets.
These people have NO class, especially Miguel who looks like he hasn’t showered in a couple days but acts like his shit doesn’t stink. He likes to make it a point that you are not his first priority. He will be sure to finish his conversation with his coworkers before he helps you.
Luckily the food isn’t horrible but I don’t trust the cleanliness of this place. I’m here now and I was served my food on a tray with mashed potatoes on the side. How do I even know they washed the tray? Gross.
Only come here when you’re really hungry or absolutely have to. Everyone, especially Miguel, is horrible.

I’ve been here three time in the last couple weeks and I definately just loved the customer service, every one seems to wanna be there and that showed me they enjoy their job! My food was delicious and I was just a very happy camper!

just came here and ordered a two piece meal and a side of loco salad. I had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ive ever had! i get this sh** (pic) my girlfriend and i get mad and decide to get off the car. we walk in show the shift leader MATT, and say ‘i dont think this counts as a wing. oh and also. do you see any extra dressing on my salad? yea me neither’ he LOUDLY says that looks like a wing to me. ‘what do want me to do about it.’ my girlfriend steps in and says cmon man, youd be upset if you paid for a wing and got this. the guy says HAHA I dONT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT. IF YOU WANT FREE CHICKEN YOU COULDVE JUST SAID SO. i ask for his name and he says ohh its right there on my name tag feel free to call and tell on me.
No wonder that 30 year old man works at a pollo loco. THAT ATTITUDE AINT GETTING HIM ANYWHERE in LIFE.
oh yeah back to the food right.
SO DRY It’ll suck up any saliva you had in your mouth. Threw it away, didnt even finish chewing it before spitting it back out. Not worth that sad little mans sass!
dont come here. you get better chicken ANYDAY at the kfc across the street, and their specialty is fried chicken and then grilled chicken. Sad huh? beat pollo loco at their own game.

It’s an alright place. You get what you pay for.
Don’t expect a high class meal. It is a restaurant but then again more fast food then anything. You don’t complain about McDonalds shitty service and disgusting food so why complain about something that is actually being prepared naturally and right in front of you.

I rather not have given this place any stars. By far the worst customer service. The cashier who took our order through the drive through was completely rude ! She didn’t even let us finish our order ! We only got to half ! And to top it off one of our orders was wrong. We were the only car in the drive through and once we pulled up Tiana completely turned around and walked away ignoring us when we were trying to ask for another item. I already knew this place was bad but he customer service was shit !

Usually don’t write reviews for fast food, they are what they are… But today’s visit really ticked me off! I went by the drive thru on the way home from work today for a quick and «healthy» dinner for the family. My family meal was $ 32 for 12 pieces of chicken, salad, beans, rice and tortillas. An order of 4 churros also came with it. The chicken was completely dried out and «shrunken», the beans were ok but very watery. Looking at the rice in the sad styrofoam cup… It was as flavorless and dry as it looked. The «salad» was wilted and had a synthetic taste. The churros that came with it were hard and you could taste the grease in each bite. The pimply kid at the drive thru forgot to give me my drink… And I basically decided right then and there my $ 32 would be much better spent on a grocery store rotisserie chicken and a bag of lettuce in the future.: (

As far as fast food restaurants go, El Pollo Loco is one of my faves. It’s definitely healthier than most. Their chicken is grilled not fried and always tastes amazing. You also have the choice of some healthier sides like a side salad or steamed broccoli. They also have Mac n cheese too which is not so healthy, but it’s delicious. This location is always clean and in my experience well staffed. No complaints

I orderd a BRC from the drive thru over a
week ago. when I unwrapped it there was a rat turd. I parked went back inside and got my money back.

I had al kinds of experiences here with a million employees or managers, but I still come back for their broiled chicken, and salsa bar. Hard to order half a chicken since there isn’t a meal for that, until recently I believe they entered that option in their registers. I got more messed up orders from them than from everyone else combined, I even contacted PL directly about that. Their food is good, better than most other chicken fast food joints, and healthier too, meaning that you can get steamed veggies and their chicken is not fried (but it’s most likely raised on hormones and antibiotics like the other guys’). I didn’t get messed up orders lately and I keep my fingers crossed that they’ll improve even more in the future, I would hate to see them close or something.
