The eggs Benedict breakfast was really good. Fresh bread and balanced sauce with herbs over focaccia. The apple jack pancake was stuffed with apples like a pie. Ok view of the lake. The restaurant is part of the Larsmont resort.

I’m a solo diner. It’s interesting how ignored we can be. Baskets of bread were brought to tables, but not mine(nor was I asked.) incorrect cocktail delivered first. My entrée arrived before I was done with my(excellent) soup. My cocktail glass remains empty. No asked if I was interested in wine, yet a wine list resides at my table. Dessert — again, incorrect and sent back. Why are we the neglected ones. We love to dine out just as much as any couple. 4 stars for the food, 2 for the neglect.

Exactly what we were expecting. Great atmosphere and the entrées were prepared perfectly, and the prices and portions were appropriate.(I recommend the Spicy Chicken and Shrimp Fettuccini.) A perfect place for a romantic evening out. Well worth the trip up the scenic North Shore from Duluth.

Absolutely terrible. We waited for our table for over a half hour with a reservation. Our waitress took 10 minutes just to bring us water. The food was not $ 50 worth, my boyfriend literally got a $ 20 bunless hamburger. And then we sat around for 20 minutes just to get the check. We will not be returning.

Was there for lunch 1) Great service. 2) Great view and location. 3) Bad food. I was surprised whenever I found any fish in the fish cakes, and the hash was swimming in oil. Edible only because I was after a hike and was really hungry. My partners burger was better but over and too greasy. Not worth a third of the price

Meal here was great but a bit overpriced. Pretty generic burgers and salada. Burger was tasty but super well done when I wanted medium. Half the food arrives to table less than hot. Four stars on lunch quality but minus a star for value. Expensive for a meal that I was able to eat fully in one sitting.

Our first visit was so good, we came back a second time. The stuffed Rainbow Trout is very good but the Salmon and potatoes is outstanding. I would have given them five stars but our server was a bit spacey: she forgot to bring a glass of wine we ordered and failed to get back to us regarding what the vegetable was going to be for the meal — something we had asked about specifically. All in all, we will come back time and again. And one more thing: while a short menu is oftentimes an indicator of an excellent restaurant, this menu is almost too limited. A lot of fish but very limited selections in other categories.

My husband and I ate twice here during our stay at the Larsmont Cottages, and it felt like a big treat. First of all, staff was courteous to give us a table 2 minutes before closing. Everything we ordered was delicious, from an herbed half chicken, to poached eggs atop sweet potato hash, to a strong cup of coffee. Pro tip: If you’re staying at the Cottages, be sure to check your welcome packet for deals on drinks at the bar! Prices are high for grad students like us, but worth it.

We rave about the maple glazed salmon. But the bruschetta was also a great hit. While this restaurant is part of the resort lodge, it was still excellent and the setting is great. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a great bottle of wine. We would definitely return.

Back again one year later with dear friends from St. Paul and Minneapolis and once again Chef Uriah served up a memorable experience. Exellent presentation, excellent use of the freshest ingredients and all around excellent food.

The atmosphere at this resort restaurant is comfortable and classy. I loved all of the cobalt accents and the gorgeous view of Lake Superior. There is a bar in the lobby of the hotel as well as some nice armchairs to relax in near the fire. I came here for a special event in the private dining room and for brunch. The brunch was great and the service was very good too. We had a large party and all of our food came out hot and at the same time. Our server was friendly and took good care of our table. I can’t say enough about the staff at Larsmont Cottages in general, they are great. We made great memories here and we will be back again.

We had a fabulous meal at the chef’s table, prepared by Chef Alex. Each course was above and beyond our expectations. We also got the wine pairing by Danielle, who expertly chose wines for each and every course. Everything from the amuse Bouche to the dessert and everything in between was phenomenal. It was fun to hear from the chef how he prepared everything. We highly recommend this!

We had a wonderful chef’s table with wine pairing. The chef’s were very nice — good vibe, excellent food. My wife can’t eat gluten or dairy and they made a six course tasting meal for both of us. I am unrestricted, and I missed neither the dairy nor gluten. It was superb! Creative and very well executed. If you’re looking for a special event for a special day, or if you’re food geeks like us, the chef’s table is worth the splurge. Call ahead, and make sure to let them know if you have any dietary restrictions. We also had the normal dinner on a different night, which was also excellent.

If you are looking to use the Unilocal offer for $ 11 off a bottle of wine, don’t come here. I was excited to use the offer, but after dinner the waiter came back and told us the executive chef would not honor it and doesn’t know why it’s still on Unilocal.Sounds like a problem they need to work out. After spending $ 280 on a meal for two, it would have been nice to use the $ 11. I’m disappointed and the food was ok.

Ledge Rock Grill is actually a restaurant in this north woods resort. The dining space has a good view of Lake Superior and the kitchen is in full open view of the dining guests. Since my plane was delayed by quite some time, I wasn’t able to drive here for lunch until it was 2:30PM. By that time the dining room was empty but thankfully they serve brunch every day until 4:00PM. I ordered the walleye cake sandwich with sweet potato fries and their house salad. I was pretty shocked at how small my sandwich was since it was the size of a slider and a small handful of fries. I immediately regretted my decision and realized I should have gone for the breakfast version with eggs. The bright side however was the walleye cake itself was amazing. Very flavorful, moist, and just the perfect amount of binder to keep everything together. Because my dish was so small, I ended up ordering a side salad and that polished me off nicely. Topped off with some local beer, the bill was about $ 20.00 not including the tip. A bit pricey for lunch, but just be aware that the plates may be smaller around here.

It was my month 8÷3÷13 to take Jodi out on our monthly date night. I searched on the internet for places outside of Duluth, and Ledge Rock Grille came up. The reviews looked outstanding, so I looked at their website and was very impressed. They have their menu online, showed pictures of their dining room, and I saw a link that caught my interest about eating at the Chef’s Table. I had to call to get more information. When I called Ledge Rock Grille, the staff worker was very helpful while explaining the Chef’s Table. It’s a six-course meal that the chef puts together himself, and it’s a personal way to show their skills that is different than what’s on the menu. While at the Chef’s Table, the chef interacts with you during the courses. The price to sit at the Chef’s Table is $ 75.00 per person. For the experience, I thought it would be worth it. He mentioned that, since I’m in a wheelchair, the counter will be too high to sit at the Chef’s Table. He said its close to five feet in height, but they would accommodate me with a table close to the Chef’s Table. Before we hung up, he asked if there was anything else that they should know about, like food allergies or any other accommodations. That really impressed me a lot. They made me feel that our needs were a priority, and they valued us as a customer. When we arrived for our reservation, handicapped parking was good. The outside of the Lodge was clean and inviting. We brought my standard size wheelchair. The doorway was wide enough, but my bigger wheelchair may not fit. Inside the Lodge, it was clean and warm. The staff welcomed us with smiles and asked if we needed help. When we got to the restaurant area, we were greeted kindly by the hostess, but we weren’t asked if we had a reservation. I thought they knew, because I made sure that the reservation had that I was in a wheelchair. But, I had to mention it to the hostess. Going into the dining area, the tables were close together. So, I would have had a problem getting through, but the staff moved the tables without hesitation. It may have been a problem, if the tables were full. The hostess sat us at a table near the Chef’s Table. I did go up to the actual Chef’s Table seating, and the counter was too high for a wheelchair. So, I am glad that they accommodated me. To be honest, I think I would rather sit at a table than the high bar stools, they would possibly get uncomfortable during a six-course meal. Our chef for our dinner was Chef Alex. He came over to our table, introduced himself, and explained his menu for the night. Then, our waitress came over and explained about having a wine pairing with each meal for an extra $ 19.00, which I did. Even though Jodi and I enjoyed everything on the menu, we did have some favorites. We both enjoyed the bacon-wrapped scallops the most. They were so good and cooked perfectly. The rack of lamb was very good as well. It was not in a marinade, but seasoned and grilled very well. The raspberry sorbet in champagne was very refreshing, but their famous S’mores cake was a great dessert to end the dinner. It was warm and gooey, just like a real S’more. On the way out, the staff moved the tables, so I could get through. And, they were all kind to us during our visit. And, when going past the front desk, they were kind and friendly, saying thanks for visiting. We felt that our needs were taken care of, and we were treated as a priority as a guest. It was very personal. Ledge Rock Grille also offers a Culinary Club. It’s free to sign up. You can sign up online, or ask your server. 1. Location was private, clean, and modern. 2. Our server was so attentive to us. She had tried the food, so she was able to describe it well, and I could trust her opinion.(I love it when servers can actually give an opinion about the food other than«it’s good»). 3. The food was delicious. I had the seafood puff pastry and my hubby had the seafood cannelloni. Both had very good portions. The vegetables were done well, my rice side had a nice light citrus flavor, and the seafood was incredibly tender. The butter sauce in the puff pastry was perfect. The cannelloni was nice and mild with quite a helping of cheese. Overall, worth having at least a couple meals here while in town.

Once upon a time, «fine dining» in Two Harbors meant a visit to Dairy Queen. These days, with a smattering of posh resorts for the ‘visit Lake Superior’ and ‘get away for a night Duluthian’ crowds, dining has been elevated to an entirely new level. The Ledge Rock Grill is the house restaurant for the Larsmont Cottages, a 40 acre enclave on the shores of Lake Superior, «inspired by a Scandinavian fishing village». The Ledge is open for lunch and dinner seven days, as well as breakfast on the weekends, and is open to the public at all times(in other words, you do not have to be a guest of the cottages to partake). Serving«modern American», chef Todd Torricer, who has Hawaiian roots, also offers monthly special menus, and the August theme features«inspired by the sea». Minnesota lead Burger Reporter Kawikamedia took a couple nights off from burgers, to check out a few menu items at the Ledge. Having lived in Hawaii, his intention was to check out the Huli Huli chicken, but alas, it was not offered the night of his first visit. He started with the smoked shrimp appetizer with a dried cherry balsamic, and then went with the Kobe flatiron, served with parsnip mashed and asparagus, a bargain at $ 31. His second visit was more successful, and described the seared Ahi, from the special August menu, as «out of this world». The plate was Fresh Pacific Ahi Tuna pan seared and paired with avocado purée, sushi rice tater tots and finished off with a wasabi-soy butter sauce. The Huli Huli chicken was very good,(if you don’t know Huli Huli, it is a traditional Hawaiian barbecued chicken, with a sauce made from soy sauce and ketchup, sweeting with brown sugar and a bit of sherry. He didn’t care for the side mash that night, which he described as «must have been doused in liquid smoke.» Kawikamedia highly recommends the Ledge, despite the fact there is no burger on the dinner menu!
