Recommended by both my Dad & family friends — I had to try it while in town visiting. Arrived a little after 11am on a Sunday, and the place was already buzzing with patrons from ages 6 to 70. Quieter seating is available in the front. Around the corner there are picnic tables for groups, retro tables and chairs, plus cozy booths, and even an arcade. The floor plan layout is smart and accessible — catering to kids, seniors, families, and/or a hangout for teenage friends. The employees are friendly and attentive. About every 10min or so, a staff member is walking around to check up on tables and booths. Order the curly fries!

I came here the first time with my family and thought my residents would live it. They did not disappoint! Service was fast. Burgers were great! Food was plentiful! Highly recommend!

I had the Texan burger for my first time to the restaurant. The burger and bacon on it had a good flavor. Crunchy jalapeños also come standard on this burger. I do love grilled onions which are also on the burger, but the onions were hot yellow ones. The taste of them will be with me all afternoon. I hope the consider using a sweeter variety. $ 6.99 for the ½ pound burger.

This is a great local place to eat at! The prices are good and there are a lot of options on the menu. Even with the speciality burgers you can do a lot of customization with the dressings and bun options. The jalapeño ranch dressing is amazing!!! They have different kind of fries too. I didn’t like my malt shake to be honest, but I do want to try their strawberry shake. The staff was really sweet and funny. I will definitely be back!!!

My family ate here last night and it was very Tasty. The burgers were very fresh, sweet potato fries were great, fried mushrooms with ranch were very good, the curly fries were just plain but not bad. All the burger toppings and buns were fresh tasting. I noticed only young men working there and they all looked like high school age, but they were friendly. The soda machine was almost out of everything, no Coke products at all. The sweet tea could have been sweeter. The floor was greasy and I almost slipped walking to get a tea. I will probably go back just for the great tasting burgers. I had the mushroom melt burger. My husband had the extra cheese burger and my daughter had a kids cheeseburger.

We have recently fallen in love with Burger Grind. We came in 10 min before they closed, a little worried that we were«those» people coming in right at close. Thankfully the staff was still very welcoming, but I want to brag on the manager. He noticed us waiting on our food and offered us a free drink while we waited. Then we overheard him on the phone with a customer complaining that something was left off their burger. He immediately offered them a burger on the house next time they came in. As our oder was being made, they informed us they ran out of avocado. He offered to drive to the store and buy an avocado. I’m not sure if he was kidding or completely serious. But I was completely blown away at his response. I haven’t seen good management like this in a long time. Thank you for such great service burger grind! We will gladly be back!

Very, very similar to a place in Glenwood Springs CO called The Grind. Actually, only difference is the one in CO is more of a Trendy, Hipster, Food served on White Square plates and lots of big screen TV’s, sports bar. That and the Fried Mushrooms are much, much better in CO. They used a thicker, tempura type batter. Our food was perfectly awesome EXCEPT for the fried mushrooms. Thin batter that couldn’t keep up with all the liquid that oozed out of them. One mushroom actually put out enough liquid that soaked 2 napkins through totally wet. The shrooms are the only reason this didn’t get 5 stars. Since the name, concept and basically the exact menu is from the one in Colorado. I wanted the fried shrooms to be as good as they were there. Will deff go back again. Will probably give the mushrooms another chance too!

One of the best burgers in town. Quality is what you get here. Needing a quick burger? Spend the extra $ 1.50 and go here over some fast food place, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve tried the cheeseburger, bison burger, chicken sandwich, French fries, onion rings, and fried mushrooms. All have been great. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Burgers were great. We had a group of 6 with two young really picky eaters. Everyone finished the burgers with zero complaints. I enjoyed my Texas burger with grilled onions and jalapeños. Tried regular, curly, and sweet potato fries and they were all on point. Cooked well and tasted great. The help was friendly but a bit aloof. It took us telling them there were no regular drinks(only diet) available for them to ask two or three workers before they figured out the sweetener bag was empty on the drink machine. They had no cones but still charged us the cone price(2.99) for two tiny scoops of ice cream in a paper tray. I’ll probably come back because like I said the burgers and fries were great. Maybe it was just a bad day for Burger Grind.

Am I the only person in East Texas that prefers a flame broiled burger? My wife and I decided to try Burger Grind this evening and came away with a mixed but overall favorable opinion. My Wife was hoping for her favorite treat, a mushroom swiss burger, and I was hoping for a flame grilled burger, «backyard» Bbq style. Alas, Burger Grind is like every other dang burger place in East Texas, Burgers fried on a flat top grill. Even worse, although they did have mushrooms, they don’t offer swiss cheese, so no mushroom swiss burger. Despite these disappointments the burgers we ordered were perfectly cooked with fresh vegetables and a nice tasting toasted bun. I would say that in my opinion Burger Grind makes the best flat top fried burger in Tyler, but they could have been so much better and unique by flame grilling. We also ordered their onion rings and were again disappointed. We were led to believe from the reviews here on Unilocal, and by the clerk taking our order, that their side portions were huge and more than enough for two people to share. In a way he was right as the 6 rings that comprised the order were a bit too greasy and not very good. We each tried a couple and left the rest for the trash. Not acceptable. Kind of expensive at $ 2.59 for 6 rings of battered onion. I hope the fries are better and more plentiful. If we try Burger Grind again we will just have to bring our own swiss cheese and stay away from the onion rings in favor of the fries. Or maybe we’ll just drive to Dallas for a flame grilled burger, or just make them at home on the backyard grill.

Ive had a lot of Fried Mushrooms in my day but i think these were probably the best ive had. Hot, fresh, juicy and the jalapeño ranch dressing was great. I think i made a mistake ordering the Philly burger, shouldve stuck to the basics. It was good but ive had better. My son had the bacon cheeseburger and loved it. Definitely will be going back, even though i spent more than i would like at a burger joint. I recommend it over the other burger joints in Tyler by far.

This place is really good. Lots of different flavor and size options for the burgers. They are very fresh and it is obvious frozen patties aren’t used. The Texan burger was really good. The onion rings are great and the curly fries aren’t bad either. The service was pretty fast and friendly.

Burgers, salads, sammiches, and shakes. This place is located in a new strip mall on Old J’Ville, just down from Brunos. If you plan to visit at night, beware the signs are not lit very well. Before approaching the ordering counter, you better have your game-on and have studied the menu. You get 3 burger sizes: ¼, ½, and 1lb. I selected the ½, it’s massive and more than enough for any hungry adult, unless you have 4 Bovine stomachs. You have several bun options to decide on. As I hate to make 1000 decisions, I selected the Texan Burger as I relish a good jalapeño burn the next day. The burger took some time, but you can’t rush a fresh grind. The patty was huge and looked to be every bit of ½ lb of cooked meat. I’m a seasoning guy, so to me the meat could have used something more to sex it up. I gave the curly fries and regular fries a head to head tasting. The regular fries were fresh cut, but I enjoyed the curly fries by a large margin. Actually, the ½ lb burger filled me up so much that I’ll skip the fries go around. I have been assured that BYOB is acceptable.
