For years, since childhood I’ve eaten here. Very little has changed except prices going up which is expected. The service is always great but this more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican food. It is dependable & consistency is definitely there. During peak hours there will be a wait so be prepared for that.

We always enjoy eating in Tyler @ Mercado’s. The chips and hot sauce are good along with the flour & corn tortillas they bring you before your meal. My wife had the cheese enchiladas with sour cream sauce and I had the Mercado(2 enchiladas, cilantro lime rice, taco and charro beans). It was All delicious ! The staff is always inviting and service was good . Go get FULL !

Very solid Tex-Mex food. Salsa was just OK. Good tortillas. Chicken fajitas were tasty. Good enchiladas even if not true enchilada sauce. Rice and beans were good. Would repeat.

Ate here last night with a large group. I ordered the spicy beef flautas with refried beans and Mexican rice. It was very good, I really liked the refried beans because they had a spicy kinda smoky flavor. All of it was really tasty. I enjoyed the sour cream sauce and the guacamole too. My daughter had the tamale plate, one beef tamale, one chicken tamale with chile con carne on top, beans and rice. I tasted hers and it was delicious. It was a pretty good size plate of food. The tamales were big, not skimpy like most places. She really liked it. The chips and salsa were fine, but I like a spicier flavor of salsa. The chips are thin, and served warm. They were fresh for sure. My husband ordered the soft tacos with beans and rice. Our group was at least 15 people and everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints. We got together for my friend’s birthday and she got a free ice cream sundae. When they brought tortillas to the table for fajitas, they were warm, fresh and plentiful. Most restaurants make you beg for extra tortillas. My water was refilled several times. Our servers were great, we had kids 5 and under at our three tables and I’m sure it was a bit challenging for them. I will definitely return. I only wish the salsa was hotter.

I could tell this was one hot spot, since I tried coming a day earlier, but there was no room in the parking lot & many guests standing around outside waiting to be seated. The décor was also pretty nice & festive. I think the restrooms were at least 2-seaters, but wasn’t too sure. The restrooms were at least well-maintained. I had a vegetarian-friendly platter, which was a type of cheese chile relleno with queso on top. It was delicious & crunchy, too. For dessert I got a sundae(vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, & a cherry on top). It was at least a non-boring dessert compared to the sopapillas. I’d love to return to this restaurant again in the future!

Very good chili con Carne on top of the cheese enchiladas. Chicken puffy taco was good but different than what I am used to in San Antonio. The shell was more like a crispy corn tortilla crater, more like a chalupa with sides. The rice was cooked perfectly and I didn’t tasted beans so I don’t have an opinion on those.

Rude waitress, hair on plate, high priced, low quality food. Definitely not the place it was before.

Amazing enchiladas and the best queso I’ve ever had. They also give free ice cream or sopapillas for dessert. The only downfall is that the last few times we have been here the service was very slow. Very good overall though!

The food is solid for a Tex Mex place. Nothing traditional Mexican here but if you like quesadillas or fajitas you won’t be disappointed. My family adores the queso and my son could eat his weight in chips and cheese. Their tortillas are also very good — the corn ones are more hit or miss but generally they are good. I haven’t had anything bad here and the décor makes for a festive place. It’s a go to place when visitors come to town.

I really used to love coming here but lately my experiences have not been as pleasant as they used to be. The service seems to have taken a nose dive in the recent months.

The atmosphere and service is great, and the food is pretty good. Loved that the dessert came with the meal, which helps feed a family of five. Avoid the busy times like after church. I’m not a fan of the puffy tacos, but the rice and beans, chips and salsa are great! We paid around $ 50 for five people(three off the children’s menu).

Horrible service. Cold food. Maybe the waitress was overworked but the manager wasn’t willing to help until the THIRD time we complained. Food was average at best. Definitely not worth the price.

Nice place, very clean — Barry was a GREAT server. Skip the salsa variety appetizer — not very good. Table salsa is good — its a cooked salsa with roasted chiles. I’m not a cooked salsa guy, but that’s just my preference. Beef fajitas were fantastic as were the black beans. Quail was awesome! Only thing I’d do differently was to ask them not to brush the quail with so much butter.

I last visited Mercado’s a few months ago with two of my friends. I ordered my usual chicken chimichanga plate and enjoyed the atmosphere. My food was quite greasy and not exactly as ordered but it still tasted okay. I do like Pasados a lot better even though it is owned by the same company and has the same menu.

Mediocre tex mex, not what I’m used to, our realtor treated my husband and I to lunch here, we had never been there before. I probably will never come here again once we move here.

Bscene magazine best of in 2012 and 2013 but not 2015. Had a very unfortunate experience. Lots of timing issues, poor server knowledge and speed. Add in that we were seated in the hottest spot in the restaurant on a 100 degree plus day. My wife has a dairy allergy and wanted an item without cheese it took 10 plus minutes just to tell us that was not an option after the other food at the table was ordered. Queso took forever. An easy request like sauce on the side did not happen. Food was cool by the time it arrived. Late items were hot and tasty though. Screaming/crying kids did not help. May have tried again if a manager Had stopped by but no dice now

Queso= average Salsa=average Service =Excellent. Amber was very attentive and professional Taco Salad= excellent! 4 stars only because of queso and salsa being average! Other than that, good atmosphere. And free self-serve ice cream.

Pretty good. Not so much a fan of the paper thin chips but the rest was good. One kid had the chimichanga and the other had a quesadilla. Wife had the shrimp Diablo. She liked it. I had the lunch burrito with sour cream sauce. It was tasty. The mood and the food was good. Not outstanding but solid. We’d be back if we lived here.
