Food was great. Staff was courteous and nice. Place is cozy. We were seated immediately and food was ready fast! Imagine with 3 boys 10, 4, and 1 they couldn’t wait and they all loved it! Thank you…

Like many other Unilocalers stated this place might be difficult to find. It’s located behind the UPS store. It’s small, but has a somewhat larger patio section. It’s usually busy during the weekends. I usually just call my order in and pick it up and eat it at home to avoid any wait. My favorite items to order are the corned beef hash and the beignets! Soo delicious. These two items are my staple orders at this place. Seems like some of the other items on the menu are more typical mediocre breakfast foods.

My biggest gripe about this place is that it can be really hard to find. The café is off Union Square, and is across the street from the Union City BART station. Once you enter, you’ll see that seating inside is limited, though there are 3 – 4 tables outside. This place is only during the day, which is good if you like breakfast foods. It seems owned and operated by an Asian family. One thing that’s unique here is that they offer steamed rice as a side. A lil weird, but whatever. They also have beignets, which I’m glad they do. I’ll go back to it later. As for the food, it’s a lil disappointing. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict. However, I couldn’t taste the smoked salmon. The hollandaise sauce wasn’t overpowering, and the poached egg was cooked on point. Unfortunately, nothing amazing. The beignets on the other hand were pretty good. I don’t know if it tastes like the real thing, but it was fluffy and not too sweet. It had icing on top that tasted«different». But regardless of it’s authenticity, it was good and pretty cheap(5 for $ 2.50). Service was average, they did well refilling my friends’ coffees but not my soda. It is a family operated business, so I can see how service wasn’t the greatest. The best part of it is that one of the females is really attractive. Besides that, nothing special.

Welp, this was a fail. This little restaurant was so difficult to find. I essentially gave up looking for it, but then I made a wrong turn and boom! There it was. It’s hidden behind a lot of things. But once you find it, and are settled, the outdoor patio is really nice. I ordered the ‘eggs any style’ breakfast with sausage links. And to be honest, I was really disappointed. It came with three eggs, four sausages, homestyle fries, and and English muffin. My eggs were okay. They were small, and I wish they were cooked just a little bit more. I’m not a big fan of my whites still being really runny. Anyway, the sausage links were dry. And they were not very appetizing. The worst part of this dish was the homestyle fries. I love potatoes. So much. And when I bit into my first potato, it was just so undercooked and it was crunchy. I was so sad. The only thing I enjoyed about this dish was the English muffin. Hahaha. So sad. The service was kind of slow as well. They took a while to seat us, despite the fact that there were plenty of tables open. They took a while to give us menus. And our water was never refilled. Meh. What more can I say?

During the hike at Mission Peak prior, I was scheming with some friends about where to eat afterwards. I was craving eggs benedict already and it was just a matter of deciding where to go. That’s where Jimmy’s came in. Don’t be fooled at first. Your gps isn’t broken. Jimmy’s is hard to find because it’s tucked behind The UPS store, the Indian Restaurant, and right across the street from the Union City Bart Station. With all the brunch places I’ve been to, I tend to order different eggs benedict dishes like I have mad crushes on them. And although Jimmy’s offered a great selection, I wasn’t too impressed with my order: the corned beef hash eggs benedict with potatoes. I felt the potatoes were underseasoned and slightly undercooked. The corned beef was mediocre, as in straight from the can, and the hollandaise sauce was like that middle child, who needed more attention. I’ve never tried beignets before. They were very sweet, warm, crisp, and fresh However, they were just okay. I didn’t understand the sweet syrupy glaze it was drizzled with. Are beignets suppose to have it or was it just their own little twist? Regardless, I expected more. Coming back? Maybe. I was tempted to try their crab benedict. If I’m in the area again, I’ll probably pay another visit.

I was recommended by one of my co-workers about this restaurant & due to her satisfaction of her food + experience, I finally had time to check it out. I went with a college friend on her weekend visit to spend time with me. We arrived around 2p on a Saturday and to my surprise we were the only ones there(fortunately about 10 minutes later more people started to arrive). I’m thinking this place is usually busy and we just came at a later than usual lunch time. Prior to arriving I did my research and read a few Unilocal reviews. Despite the fact that the original owner left, the current staff were very welcoming the moment my friend and I stepped in. We ordered the popular beignets. My friend ordered the Garden Omelette with a side of white rice. I was unsure whether to order the Corned Beef Hash Benedict or the Smoked Salmon Benedict. Eventually I set my heart out on choosing the Smoked Salmon Benedict with a side of potatoes. Our first order to arrive was the beignets. I was hoping they would actually arrive at the end as a dessert, not an appetizer. Anyway, we decided to give it a try considering they were warm and we both have a big sweet tooth. Unfortunately, I thought the beignets were just okay. It did not really live up to the high standards as the other reviewers rated them. I have a pretty big sweet tooth so I’m hoping it was just that day it wasn’t stellar. The order came with about five and my friend and I had the appetite to eat one each. We ended up taking the rest to-go. After our sweet appetizer, our main dishes arrived moments later. My friend loved her Garden Omelette from her first bite. She loved her meal so much she compared it to the Hash House & the Original Pancake House in San Diego(we both graduated from UCSD) and put Jimmy’s Place in the forefront. I was excited for my order because I never had a benedict dish, but with the smoked salmon it was oh my goodness delicious! I loved every bite of my meal. The potatoes on the side made it even more tasty! Jimmy’s Place is two thumbs up in our book. It has a nice home-y feeling and provides excellent service. We not only loved the presentation of our meals, but we thought the portions were just the perfect amount. We left feeling satisfied, not in a food coma type when you wish you didn’t eat so much. We plan to try other meals, but probably opt out on the beignets. The location of the restaurant was a little hard to find considering it is hidden in the corner of a plaza. It’s across the street from I think the Union City BART. It’s located in a plaza near the Dollar Tree and across another plaza where you will find Tap Ex & Daiso. This place deserves to be known, so give it a try & spread the word! Maybe you will see me there! ;)

I really hate giving bad reviews, but as much as my daughter and I enjoyed their food before, it’s not the same. With that being said, I’ll give them a chance to improve and will perhaps go back in a couple months or so. I chose to provide an update because the original Jimmy sold this place to new owners — a young lady and her brother, I believe. FOOD — I had simple scrambled eggs, rice, bacon, and an english muffin. None of our bread was toasted. In fact, both the wheat«toast» and sourdough«toast» looked as if it had just been taken out of the bag. My eggs were scrambled too hard and the rice either didn’t have enough water in the rice cooker, or it was overcooked. SERVICE — There were four of us, yet they only gave us two small plates to share the beignets, and one of the plates were dirty. The place wasn’t full like it normally is, but yet we had to ask for more water. Needless to say, after a great initial experience with the original Jimmy’s, I was definitely disappointed as breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal of the day, it was a beautiful Sunday morning/early afternoon, and I was hungry. The owner is a nice lady and I did provide feedback on my experience. I can understand the challenges of owning a service business, especially a food business. I hope they can fix these issues and carry on the delicious tradition of really good breakfast/brunch.

Like most folks we were surprised and sad to hear that Jimmy has sold his business. We wish him well! We came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch, not too crowded since we came during a non-peak time. Ended up trying the country breakfast, the ham ‘steak’ breakfast, and of course the beignets. I’m happy to say the beignets still tasted great. Same crispiness with the nice syrup makes for a perfect treat. We also enjoyed how there was no «old oil» taste that we used to taste the previous times we’ve gone here. For the country breakfast, it included two sausage patties, 2 biscuits, eggs, and potatoes. Portion wise, there just as large as the original. Everything tasted good and fresh, the only thing i didn’t like was the fact that the biscuit was too soft and cold. As for the ham ‘steak’ breakfast, it came with 3 eggs, the ham, potato’s, and English muffin. Portion again was quite large and my friend couldn’t finish her meal. I tried the ham and it was flavorful and nicely pan fried. So far, the new management is doing a good job. There very friendly just like Jimmy and seem quite hard working. Hopefully they can continue the tradition of great food that were all accustomed to with the original Jimmy!

I went to Jimmy’s place quite a while ago and didn’t like it too much, so I didn’t go back for long time until this past sunday because everywhere had long wait, and I confirmed that I did not like it that much. It was a pretty disappointing experience this past sunday. Their service was great, waiter was very attentive and friendly. They apologize for the wait of the food(yes, we waited for almost half an hour to get our food…). It was the food itself that disappointed me. Three of us ordered the vegetarian egg benedicts, fish and chip, and beignets. The egg benedicts was pretty good, beignets were alright, not as good as the first time i had them. The fish and chip was disastrous. The whole dish was overly fried, the fish, basically, had only batter. I was trying to break off the batter and eat just the fish, and sadly, there was only a small piece of fish covered with a huge, thick layer of batter. On top of that, that little piece of fish was dried and not fresh. I didn’t expect to pay $ 7 to eat batter and chips. What bothered me the most was the flies in the restaurant. Not only one, but quite a number of little flies were flying above your head while you are trying to eat. I think they should do something about it before it scares people away.

My sister and I went to this place to try and it was decent. Not sure if this is a place I would go back to though. We waited about 45 minutes for our food after we ordered. I think they only have one cook and they cook one plate at a time. The guy Jimmy is nice, in believe he opens the place. And there was another lady who works there but she wasn’t as friendly, she seemed a bit annoyed and angry. The prices there are decent too, not too expensive and not super cheap. I think it cost me $ 8 for their vegetarian Benedict, I forgot but its around there. Their vegetarian Benedict was good, they give you three eggs and two muffins for the bottom. Their hollandaise sauce tastes different than others but its a good different. Their eggs taste weird though… It wasn’t pleasant to eat. The yolk wasn’t over cooked but wasn’t runny either so it was a weird clay-like texture that rubbed against my teeth. I ordered potatoes on the side and it was okay, ask for hash browns instead, it tastes better. Its a small place, you can eat inside or outside which was cute. Its a bit hidden, like its in the back corner in the complex near UPS. If you are in a hurry do not go here, or order ahead and take out. The wait was too long for me. I don’t think I would go back only because I’ve had better, such as Café M in Berkeley and another one in los gatos. But it was a place I had to try since its located in Fremont.

Don’t forget to order their beignets. They are warm, fluffy, and sweet. Service was friendly and very attentive. Maybe I didn’t order the right thing, but this place did not blow me away. I ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict and it was okay. Potatoes weren’t freshly cooked to me and sauce could have been a bit tastier. I’ll try them again and order something else :)

Great place tucked away in a corner that most people don’t know about. For the longest time my family has been going to Baldies, and my friends and I have preferred Country Way. Baldies is great, but a bit old school and the lines can be nuts, Country Way is great but the portions are overkill. I may have found my new favorite place in Jimmy’s. Its hard to find like everyone says… if you come from Bart you’ll see it easily, but google maps and such puts it near the Safeway. Essentially, just walk towards bart starting from in front of L&L’s and you’ll see Jimmys to the back left. First off, the staff is quick. Like, you better be ready to order, get your food, and get out… they don’t hurry you but the place is very much a quick service spot that does food well. The beignets are really surprisingly awesome. Served hot, they are light with a not overly sweet sticky frosting and powdered sugar. Perfect to start off your meal. Both times we were here we got different stuff, so I’ll give you my favorite and least favorite. My least favorite has to be the $ 5 biscuit and diced ham + eggs. The gravy on the biscuits was just not meaty, was pretty thin, and didn’t have any flavor to it. In fact, even after adding salt and hot sauce, it still lacked the side sticking quality of a IHOP sausage gravy. All good though, for $ 5. Best dish for me has to the be Jimmy’ Skillet. Spicy and nicely grilled(with a great snap!) linguica, with tons of mushrooms, peppers, onions, and potatoes, its what you want for breakfast piled into one big bowl. Seriously folks, this is a wake up dish that will set you up for the rest of the day. Just get it. Everything is decently priced here, service is quick and with a smile, and the place is full of regulars. The second time we came someone in the back eating said to his friend«I guess the secrets out»…true story. LEGIT

I have lived in UC for 18 years, and I have NEVER seen this place. It really is tucked right behind the dollar store but if you walk from BART, you can easily see it. I NEVER knew of this place until I got a recommendation from my brother. Came here for brunch with my bf, and it was absolutely amazing! Not that many people since it was a work day. Jimmy was there and was soooo friendly! Can’t wait to go back and try more food! I got the Eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and it was very filling, A definite recommend. I didn’t think it was that much money either. Very worth it. My bf got the corned beef hash benedict and thought it was okay. Those two seem very popular at this cute restaurant. Must try the beignets!!! They are soooooooooo yummy :) southern style doughnut-like sweets :)

On a breakfast or brunch roll lately. Drove all the way to Jimmy’s. It is as cute as it can get! About 12 tables inside. Fast service and tasty food. Although I will skip the Teriyaki Omelette next time. The eggs with Linguica was awesome. The owner Jimmy is pretty much busy taking the orders and making sure you are satisfied with them. The beignets that everybody is raving about was worth it all. It was a gift courtesy of a new couple friends. New breakfast place, made new friends there. Awesome! There’s an outside sitting for summer. Woohooo! Note***Jimmy’s sits behind UPS.

This has become my go-to breakfast spot since it is literally a 2 minute drive from my house. I absolutely adore the owner. He is so friendly and always has a smile on his face. He genuinely cares about providing exceptional customer service. The portions here are HUGE. If you are suffering from a hangover, near starvation, or just a fatass… this is the breakfast/lunch spot for you! I love their eggs benedict, especially the veggie benedict(I always replace the mushrooms with avocado slices– makes it soooooo much better). All their omelets are delicious too. Oh and how could I forget the beignets?! Even when I am stuffed to capacity, I always seem to find myself ordering some beignets ;), hehe.

I was there at the crack of dawn today with a big appetite and left satisfied. We were the only ones there and the food came out pretty fast. The eggs benedict was really good. I decided to splurge and get the beignets as well. The owners are super nice and I hope they are very successful.

This was my first time here. I’ve never heard of this place until today, and I’ve been living in Union City practically my whole life. But now I finally have a place to take my friends when they visit! I think our waiter was Jimmy, but I’m not sure. We were seated right away and our food came in about 10 minutes. I got the eggs benedict. It was suuuper good. I AMSOFULLRIGHTNOW. The hot sauce was BOMB(more for taste than spiciness though). My boyfriend ordered the«ice cream sundae» for $ 1 but it’s just those tiny cups of strawberry and vanilla ice cream. The waiter even warned him, saying that it was for kids, hahaha. Our waiter was really nice. He made sure our drinks were full, and he greeted everyone that came in. He even walked us to the door when we left :) The prices are regular, about 8 – 9 bucks a plate, but you definitely get what you paid for. Sadly, the place closes at 3pm everyday so you can’t go for a late night run, but I’m excited to introduce this place to my other friends!

Wonderful small«mom and pop» feel to this restaurant. Enjoyed brunch on a Saturday around 11AM. There are maybe 8? Tables inside and a few outside. When we came in it was perfect timing and we were seated right away. I ordered the Smoked salmon scramble with egg whites. It comes with cream cheese(I asked for it without) onions, tomatoes and capers. Sides are steamed white rice or potatoes. I opted for potatoes. And a choice of toast or English muffin. Hubs ordered the 3 egg combo. His choice of meat was linguica and potatoes. He enjoyed his and the portion of linguica was huge. Service was friendly and attentive. The food took about 15 – 20 minutes. The place was busy nonstop. My entrée was great. Massive amounts of salmon and the potatoes were soft with a little crunch. The portions and quality exceeded my expectations. Make sure to come hungry. The prices are low when compared to other restaurants. I have paid more and haven’t been as satisfied with the food and service. Our bill was almost $ 18. for both entrees and tax. I can’t wait to come back. Next time I must try the beignets. The table next to ours ordered them and it looked delicious.

Hi Jimmy! Your beignets are the bomb. I love that we can secretly order Kim Chee with our meals. Everything on the menu has been delicious thus far. particularly Jimmy’s Special Skillet and eggs benedict variations. Pretty cool little local joint. Excellent excellent service. Keep up the good work and never close down because I’m hungry! Yours truly, Grace H.(+ foodie friends)

I had a Friday off from work and my mom wanted to have breakfast. I didn’t want to go to any of the chained breakfast joints. So, with the help of Unilocal I found this treasure. Upon arriving here, it looked like the restaurant had just opened. There was just another party of four in the restaurant. There was just only one person working as the waiter/cashier in the restaurant. I got to give that man credit! He held down the fort like a true soldier. Customer service was nothing less than perfect. For breakfast I ordered the corn beef and hash Benedict. My mom had the vegetarian Benedict. My dish tasted awesome. The combination of the English muffin, poached egg, corn beef and potatoes blended very well. My mom enjoyed her vegetarian Benedict. As the restaurant started to get busy, our waiter still made sure our drinks were refilled. This place is a must try if you are in Union City. If you commute by Bart, this place is right across from the Union City Bart Station. One of my top breakfast joints in UC!
