Ah! The joy of living in the suburbs. The food quality isn’t that great in most of restaurants I think. I was willing to give this place a chance since it had good review. Ordered coffee, krabbycake bfast with potatoes. Coffee– bland. Not like a gas station coffee but it’s not great at all. Krabbycake– frozen maybe? Definitely not homemade by just the looks of it. A lot of filler and it didn’t taste like crab. Egg Benedict-over cooked. Hollaindaise– broken & bland. Potatoes– not fresh. Needs more seasoning but it didn’t look very appetizing. Plate overall look– boring. Service– okay. Place is small yet clean and comfy. I’m disappointed

The name of the place does what it says! BREAKYOURFAST! I wanted to take my girlfriend to one of the best places to have breakfast in my city. Break Your Fast came to mind. Previously named Jimmy’s Place, Break Your Fast has the same menu offerings. A petite restaurant, so seating fills very quickly. Once we were seated, we browsed our menus. Before looking for my main course, I still wanted to know if beigents were available. Coming off a recent trip from Louisiana, I was craving for some good old fashioned beignets. Break Your Fast serves beignets and we placed an order of that. Five pieces for around $ 3 isn’t a bad deal. Lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar and topped and drizzled with sweetened condense milk, tasted great. Soft and fluffy, bringing me back memories of my visit to Louisiana. For my breakfast main course, I went with the corn beef and hash benedict. Corn beef and eggs are one my favorite food combinations. This dish is composed of two English muffins, topped with a bed of corn beef and hash, two poached eggs covered with hollendaise sauce. With this entrée, you can side choices of potatoes or rice to go with it! My Asian side wanted rice, but I went with the traditional potatoes for breakfast. Everything tasted great! The corn beef and hash were nicely flavored. The eggs were soft and runny. The muffins were toasted, yet soft to bite on to. The potatoes were a mixture of crispy and soft, not over cooked. We did enjoy our breakfast here. One of my favorite breakfast spots. And it seems that some residents of Union City can agree with me as well!

This place is pretty small and a bit hard to find as it is found in the back of a plaza off Decoto Rd. It literally is in the back because it’s not facing the street! You would have to park your car in the back left parking lot and you will see the sign pointing to it in the back. Came here with some friends and noticed a bunch of people were standing around waiting outside the restaurant. The place is pretty small and gets filled up quickly so you typically do have to wait a while before getting seated. Finally, we were seated and I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and the beignets. I really liked my dish although it lacked a bit of salt. Luckily, the salt shaker was on the table so that was a quick fix. The beignets were also powdered goodness. However, my friend ordered a sandwich(I forget which one, unfortunately) and the bread was extremely burnt. Like, I’m not sure how the server did not notice has black and burnt the bread was! But she was really shy to ask them to change it so she sucked it up and ate it — well, kinda. She only ate part of the sandwich and left the rest behind. I just don’t get how the server didn’t notice how burnt it was and asked the chef to remake it. Better yet, I’m not sure how the chef didn’t notice how burnt it was to begin with! But other than that, the service was good and my food was good. Just had to take off one star because of what happened to my friend’s poor sandwich

I love this place! I’ve come here a few times & was happy when my friends wanted to come here! Such a small but powerful place! And by powerful I mean the food makes a statement! First off, the service is friendly & attentive. Now… On to the food! We ordered: Krabbycake Benedict: crispy & flavorful crab cakes on top of bread. Three poached eggs on top of the cakes. HEAVEN. I cut that baby open & out came the yolk! SOGOOD! My side was hashbrowns… you can’t go wrong with hashbrowns! Mushroom burger with grill onions & Swiss cheese: the party was cooked the way I loooooove it. I loved how everything melted together. Mushrooms, onions & Swiss cheese stay being my weakness. Ah. Mah. Gah. Side of fries, lol. Which was yummy! Smoked Salmon Scramble: say that 10x fast. Hahaha. It’s salmon… Should I say more? Side of rice & wheat toast! Carbs. On carbs. On carbs. For the sides. Lol. Adding on to the carbs… We also ordered the beignet which is BEST fresh! It’s warm, crispy & topped with that vanilla sauce. Mmmm. Dessert for breakfast indeed! I’ll be back forsure!

Awesome little breakfast spot in UC. Beignets, 5 for $ 2.50?! Soooooo bomb and cheap! I ordered the chicken and waffles as well. Very good and the sauce they serve with it is good. Overall the food was delicious but a little on the greasy side. The waffles tasted more like deep fried waffles and were more crunchy and not as soft and fluffy as I like them. But looking at the menu they have a lot of breakfast items that you usually don’t find at other breakfast joints in the area.

Very cute place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I’ve been here twice and both times I have enjoyed my meal very much. I love their biscuits and gravy and linguiça. The linguiça is very flavorful and the gravy is very rich and creamy. The dish that I enjoy the most are their beignets. They are not as powder sugar covered as the ones I’ve had before in New Orleans, and I can’t decide if that is a good thing or not, but I really like the vanilla sauce. Prices are reasonable. Location is conveniently next to Bart. The resturant is a bit small inside, which could be a problem on cold days, but does have a patio area which would be perfect for warm ones.

Little, quaint place. Wish it was a bit bigger and less cramp. Tried their egg benedict(canadian bacon and eggs on an english muffin). Was pretty decent, but unfortunately cannot compare to Black Bear’s but that’s okay. Their beignets are what’s pretty awesome though. And only 5 for $ 2.50. Workers were nice and chill too. Overall, was a pretty decent place.

This café is in a random spot in the back of a shopping center and across from the bart. But great service and yummy food! They’re beignets are delicious – fresh, light and sweet. Benedicts were pretty tasty as well. Overall a solid brunch spot!

This is such a cute place. The waiters are so friendly and nice. The décor is super cutesy, with punny frames. We have beigets, krabbycake benedict and corn beef hash benedict. All of them were sooo good. Beigets were warm, crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside, they were also not too sweet. Both our Benedicts were yummm. The portions are humongous. The krabbycake benedict was better than the corn beef hash, also super crispy and yumm, with the eggs runny! You must come here if you are in the area.

Food is so good, but the space is so small and cramped, it’s hard for people to get up and get by. Definitely not a good set up for people dining with kids or babies. The wait time is another thing that has been getting on my nerves more each time I return to this place. I mean, I’ve been coming to this place since it first opened, and each time, the wait just gets longer. It’s discouraging… but I’m glad they’re doing so well. That being said, their food is on point, especially the beignets, corn beef hash, and the benedicts. The service is nice, as in they do the best they can with the staff and space. The atmosphere is definitely always bustling. Suggestion: buy some heat lamps for the outside tables so people will be more inclined to sit at those tables.

Great price and great portion! I got 3 eggs with country fried steak, served with toast and a side of potatoes(see picture). All that for $ 8.50! Everything was decent, very typical, can’t really mess up on the toast and eggs. The country fried steak and the gravy on top was fire, served while it was still crispy. P. S. Small place, less than 12 tables(including outdoor). Do expect a wait on weekends.

Come here for their beignets! Can’t go wrong with friend doughnuts topped with powder sugar and drizzles of vanilla sauce! I’ve never had them in New Orleans, so I can’t compare, but still enjoyed these nevertheless! Kind of wish I ordered a plate just for myself, but that would be too gluttonous right? Shared a Spam benedict with a friend. Although I appreciate the unique concept of using spam, I was not impressed with this dish. In fact, I barely ate any of it. Spent most of my time with the beignets…

BREAKFASTJOINTTHATHITSTHESPOT When I go out to eat it is usually for dinner. However my favorite meal of the day is breakfast. I never really could find a great place to eat breakfast until now. The first time I came here was two Saturday mornings ago. Unlike most I didn’t have to wait in line as I arrived at about 8AM. I didn’t want to order items that I usually get breakfast such as skillet, waffles, and omelets. I wanted to try something different. I ordered two items. The first item I ordered was the beignets. I’ve had beignets at other eateries but the quality and price at Break Your Fast was better than any beignets I’ve ever had. There are five pieces of beignets. These beignets are light yet crispy. The best time to eat them is right when they are served to you as they come out right hot off the fryer. The sweet, creamy sauce accentuates the beignets. The second item I ordered was SPAM Benedict. As a typical Pinoy I was going to order spam with egg and rice. But I have a confession to make — I never had eggs benedict before. So I was going to lose my eggs benedict«virginity» here. As an admitted egg slut the poached egg with its runny egg yolk over the spam made the dish a match made in heaven. All joking aside the dish was really tasty. Since I never had eggs benedict before I’m glad I choose this place to eat them here. The dish also comes with a side of country potatoes or hash browns. I decided to order the hash browns. I never like the hash browns at other breakfast eateries as they tend to be soggy and oily. Maybe it’s because I’m so used the McDonald’s style of hash browns growing up. I requested the hash browns to be crispy and it was. I was happy with crispy hash browns. I was extremely pleased with my breakfast that day. In order to give a proper rating in my book I had to order other items also. The second time I ate here was on Christmas Eve for morning breakfast. Growing up I never liked pancakes as I prefer waffles. My intent was to order the blueberry pancakes. What I noticed the Special of the Day, which is listed on the wall, was Fried Chicken Benedict. I was to order that dish when my server informed me that it was sold out recently. That ended up as a blessing in disguise. So I ordered the blueberry pancakes yet also foolishly ordered the waffles. I say foolishly because I ended up with too much starch that morning. Regarding the blueberry pancakes there are lot of blueberries in the pancake. Some breakfast eateries skimp on the number of blueberries in the pancake. The batter at Break Your Fast is lighter than most eateries. However my experience still reiterated that I prefer waffles over pancakes in general. So what about the Fried Chicken Benedict as a blessing in disguise? Well I came here this morning, the day after Christmas, with the intent of ordering that dish. Unlike Christmas Eve I was able to order that dish. The runny egg yolk over the fried chicken is a «food porn» experience. My overall take on this eatery is the beignets and egg benedict dishes stand out on the breakfast menu. If you have just the beignets and a cup of coffee you had an affordable yet satisfying breakfast experience. I’m not one into the décor of an eatery yet this place has a modern atmosphere that isn’t hipster as most eateries have now become. Is Break Your Fast the best breakfast eatery I ever had? No but it’s one of the best breakfast eateries I ate in a long time.

Break Your Fast is definitely one of the better breakfast places in the area. I’ve had the chicken and waffles before( ). I LOVE chicken and waffles and I like how BYF puts their own little twist on this dish. First of all, they use panko breading for their chicken. They also use boneless chicken filets which I normally consider sacrilege but I didn’t mind this time. Decent seasoning. Not bad at all. I found it funny that I only got three pieces of waffle. I understand that the proportions are correct if it’s only ¾ of a waffle rather than all 4 pieces but sometimes I joke around that the chef got hungry during work lol. Crabbycake Benedict is good too. Texture was alright and the flavor was decent. Their hollandaise had more flavor than I was expecting and one of the poached eggs was actually a little overcooked(I love them runny). Potatoes weren’t salty which was good but I feel like it was missing something. Maybe make it a bit crispy or add some spices/onions/peppers. BYF does have some typical menu items such as omelettes and scrambles but I’ll always deviate towards Benedicts or daily specials. Stop by for breakfast if you are in the area!

A hole in the wall but what a nice gem. A home grown business started w/local family and friends and the charm is evident. Beignets are sweet and delicious. Not a melt in mouth item but more like a yummy donut w/powdered sugar and glaze. Benedict’s are a golden nugget of paradise. The center of the eggs are cooked to perfection. Lot’s of flavor and enough heartiness to fill you up. The egg-white Omelette is just right. Filling and tasty. Substantial in size. Prices are more than reasonable for what you get. In fact and dare I say, affordable. I’m told the Weekends have crazy long lines so be patient cuz it’s worth the wait. Go and Enjoy break your fast!

Quick service. Food came out within 10 minutes of being seated. Place has a good selection and variety of different Benedicts. I ordered the corned beef hash Benedict, perfectly poached eggs and creamy hollandaise. You have the choice of a side of rice or potatoes. Small place but has outdoor patio seating and quick turnover. Dishes range about to $. No more than 10 – 12 bucks for anything. Cheap, fast, and good.

Break your fast is a small little breakfast spot that has been on my bookmark list for a long time. My sister came from out of town and I wanted to show her a nice breakfast spot so I chose this one. We arrive at 11 o’clock and was seated by 11:40, not a bad wait considering that I hear their lines get REALLY long and the wait is CRAZY! You have the chance to sit either inside or outside and we chose either and was sitting inside which turned out to be good because it was hot weather that day. Inside there are about nine tables and chairs. Outside is the best for larger groups and has about six tables. Staff is young and very friendly when it comes to ordering your food. I ordered the fried chicken Benedict for $ 9.75 as well as the biscuits and gravy! One thing that surprised me was they don’t bring all your food out at one time so I received my biscuits and gravy before my big meal which was a little disappointed especially since I wanted to eat my biscuits and gravy later. But not a biggie! Food was really good and seasoned right! I hear they have BOMB beignets and although I wanted to order some on my first visit I was totally full and couldn’t intake anymore! I would definitely come back here again to try more on the menu!

Unfortunately I’m going to change my review to 3 stars instead of 4 given additional experiences here. Basically, I feel like the menu is a really big hit or miss. My original review centered around the gorgeous Corned Beef Hash Benedict that I fell in love with but once I ventured out to try other things, all I’ve ended up with is a ton of regret. However, I can’t give any lower because I do still like the Corned Beef Hash Benedict. – Hamburger w/Cheese & Side Salad – I took my grandpa here and he ordered the burger and felt bad because he was pretty disappointed. According to him, he felt the meat was very dry. The side salad was also noticeably pre-packaged and mediocre. It was surprising because normally my grandpa isn’t picky with food(survived the Communist Revolution), so when he doesn’t like something it’s surprising. – Krabbycake Benedict w/Potatoes – This was something I ordered myself so I can personally testify. I love crabcakes and I love benedicts(they’re my favourite type of breakfast) so I figured that combination couldn’t go wrong. If my first experience here was just of this breakfast and I never found the Corned Beef Hash Benedict, I probably would’ve only given this establishment 2 stars. The crabcakes didn’t really have much of a taste to them. They may as well have replaced bread with the crabcakes and there wouldn’t have been any difference. I had to pile on tabasco to make it taste like *something*, ANYTHING. Again, had the same problem where they really skimp on the Hollandaise Sauce, the proportions were way off. — Like I said, I definitely don’t hate this place. In fact, I’d be happy to come here again because I really do enjoy the Corned Beef Hash Benedict. But when they’ve literally messed up everything else on the menu(besides the beignets) I can’t warrant the 4th star anymore.
