Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have a selection for less than one star. Looking at the rest of these reviews there is clearly a trend going on here.lol.you would think the idiot owner would do something to try and reverse it but he’s obviously fine with losing his business and shutting the doors because that is what is inevitable for this place. Not hard to tell that the half a dozen positive reviews here were left by employees to try and offset all of the negative because wow is there a lot of it, for this many people to have had these many bad experiences this guy must be a real fool to keep up the HORRIBLE service in this dump. Been in twice. first was while on a lunch break, service took so long we ended up having to get the food carry out so as not to be late getting back. Mind you, we were one of 4 seated tables and they were by no means busy. I now know why lol.
Second and final time was last night. went in with a party of 30 fresh from a wedding and all staying in the hotel across the courtyard, we walked over to red ox with intentions of continuing our good time and dumping some money only to be told by the balding dbag behind the bar that he would not be serving any of us. I get it, we were already buzzed but any bar owner in their right mind does not turn away a party of 30 dressed to the 9’s, half in the bag with pockets full of money. I tried explaining to him we were at a wedding, were all staying in the hotel across his parking lot and turning us away would be turning away an easy $ 1500 out of his till, his only response was to turn his fat back on me and walk away.lol.moron.we all went across the street and dumped $ 2200 at dooleys. good call buddy.lol.remember times like that when you are sitting in your crappy apartment wondering how you lost your place.

Crappy old food. Reheated no flavor. This place will close soon. Not busy slow service for not being busy. It’s so dark you can’t even see what your eating.

I’ve never been blown away by this place but my husband really enjoys the fish tacos. I’ve sampled a little of everything, but nothing has stood out (though nothing was horrible). They’ve done a good job handling work happy hours. Service is OK and the place is clean when we’ve come.

Love coming here for the bar scene as they have ½ off drinks for service industry. Been coming there a long time so I am always treated well.
However, going there to eat is a different story. My mom and I went in for lunch around 2−3pm on a Saturday. Our server was extremely slow, no personality and unfriendly. Mind you, they were not busy at all. Then we were ready to go, and she was nowhere to be found. Waited on our bill for a long time. She finally brings it, then disappears another 15 – 20 min. My mom ended up giving the payment to the owner (who is a huge dick by the way) who didn’t offer anything except for an apology and made an excuse for the poor service. Unacceptable. I worked in the service industry for several years, and that is not service.

Good atmosphere, crap food. hamburger was garbage frozen patty. Pizza I think might still be good. Salads are a joke. Beer is cold. Service and staff had attitudes and spray cleaner on tables that splash all over other tables and food! Definitely changed managers or owners!

Split some nachos– ok, not great. server seemed to possibly be a bit hungover. Place was mostly empty, yet server would disappear for lengthy periods. Skillet nachos were served on was quite full. As it was being served a good portion of it spilled on the table. Waitress never even noticed, or mentioned anything about it.

If your looking for a place to watch sports and have some good food and drinks this is the place to be. Kind of classy for a sports bar but very good clean environment. The staff was good, it was only a week old when i went so they were still getting in the swing of things but very great place. Highly recommend!

Its a bar. That can’t serve decent bar food. Mostly empty on a Sunday night. Waiter sucked into the football game, refused to clear plates even when asked, had to stack them up on a chair for room for the entrees. Ordered the appetizer sampler, fajitas, and a burger. Sampler was so so at best. Fajitas were gross. Crap ton of onions very little meat. Tortillas so soggy you couldn’t peel them a part. I tried to send it back but the waiter disappeared after dropping off the food… but came back 30 minutes later to give the check. Not going back.

We split an entrée, and our steak came out while we were two bites into our soup. So it had to sit while we finished the soup.
It was just a bit undercooked (we wanted medium rare and it was more rare) but that’s ok with me, i would deal. It just got cold while it sat while we finished our soup because it came out too soon.
So when we asked it to be thrown back on the grill for a second, the bartender was all judgy like «oh, so you don’t like it medium rare, you prefer it medium well?» As though we had ordered wrong and she wasn’t the incompetent one who didn’t time the order properly. Straight up rude.
Just shut up and fix the problem, no one needs your editorial. It seriously came out in like 4 minutes, which is never a good sign for a steak.

Don’t waste your time with this garbage «upscale sports bar». No literally, it’s a waste of TIME and MONEY! I’ll never be back nor will I ever recommend this dump.
I don’t generally leave reviews unless I’m blown away good or bad. What can I say… this one falls in the «bad» column. The service is the issue here. On a slow Sunday evening my wife and I came in for a quick bite. We ordered the vegetarian pasta and a buffalo chicken sandwich. After taking our order the waiter just disappeared. I mean no where to be found. After about 45 minutes we got our soup and salad. After another long wait we were served our food. I guess that’s where the «service» stops here. We didn’t see our waiter again until we were ready to go. All the while no refills, no checking in to see how the food was, just came back to see if we needed the check.
Meanwhile we asked said waiter if we bought a gift card could it be used at either location (Rochester Hills or Utica). He said «of course you can use it at either». So we asked for a gift card to be added to the bill. About 20 minutes later he finally brings the bill and the card claiming not to be trained on how to activate a card. I paid and left… how I wish this is where the story ended.
Come to find out you CANNOT use a Red Ox gift card at either location nor can you exchange it for a different one. On top of it they were rude when asked about it on the phone. Never again…

This place has lots of tvs ready to go for game day. Everything else reminds me of when the Seahawks passed at the one yard line at the Super Bowl and lost! The service was horrible. We had a table of 7. We were seated immediately ready for the game. It took awhile for waters and the waitress never refilled our waters again. Getting her attention was so difficult. When we finally ordered the food was looked good. However, the chicken burger looked microwaved and tasted worst. The buffalo wings had no sauce and the salad was not fresh. They Ryan Leafed this place.

Staff loudly cheering on Ohio State… while not working… and standing next to the bar?
If you’re a paying customer, cheer for whomever you want, loudly. If you’re supposed to be working, you shouldn’t be standing next to the bar watching the game, loudly quipping how much you love away teams vs home home teams for an hour.

Nicer atmosphere and the vibe is similar to the feeling you get at a relatively nicer chain like P.F. Cheng or Kona Grill. Overall great service and selection of beers but other than that it’s nothing over the top to give me the 5 star buzz factor for a franchise.
I would recommend this restaurant/​bar.

This place blows! This is the third time I’ve given this place a chance and I will actually never come here again. The food sucks especially for the price. The servers are so lazy with bad attitudes. I’m here celebrating my moms birthday right now and we keep having to hunt someone down for drinks. Red ox sucks! Crappy diner food for upscale prices. Honestly the service is the worst part. The hostess Lauren was a doll. I have to add that, but these servers are the worst!

I used to love coming here. Unfortunately after today I will not be back. My boyfriend and I wanted to come get a decent meal for lunch while watching a couple of the football games. After being seated it not only took 15 minutes to get a simple Coke, but a whopping 10 minutes before we were even greeted. Even after The woman who appeared to be the manager definitely looked at us multiple times. Having been in the service industry I know when you’re busy in the back it’s possible to not realize people have sat, but when a manager stares at you for 10 minutes and doesn’t let the server know??? That’s ridiculous. Since we sensed a pattern, we ordered an appetizer right away. Only after our appetizer was practically gone did our waiter return to ask if we «wanted to order anything.» Since we were sitting in the dining area, I would have thought that was implied. We watched the table that came about a half hour after us receive their food, pay their bill, and leave in the time it took us to begin eating our entrees. Definitely unacceptable and will not be returning.

Horrible food. Nearly eatable. The bar seemed ok but my meal was bad prices high for horrible frozen food. From the texture I bet it was re-​heated in the microwave

Probably the worst Pizza I ever ate… save yourself the money and get a frozen pizza!!!

Best bar pizza I have ever had. Excellent servers and bar tenders. Decent pricing. Great location. Huge beer selection on tap.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!
Thursday is ladies night starting at 9pm; all drinks are half off. I’m drinking a soft parade for $ 3– you won’t find that price anywhere around here.
I got their Mexican chipotle flatbread and it is to die for! So much flavor packed on it.
Also– starting at 11pm on Thursdays men get ½ their drinks as well.

Been here twice… anybody can pour a beer in a glass and serve it to you, the hole in the wall bar around the corner from me does it with great finesse.
Big Red flag is when the cover menu labels this establishment an «Upscale Sports Bar» … We’ll their food was rather lackluster, we had the Lemon Chicken paired with spaghetti with capers… Simplest dish in the world and they somehow mess it up. Nasty!
2^nd time, we went for a friend’s birthday party. usually when drinking, we somehow would like little small appetizer plates to kinda fiddle around with. None of them tickled my fancy. From the regular chicken wings or nachos is priced ridiculously. No thanks, these are appetizers served at coney islands for half the price.
Anyways… If the establishment is gonna label itself an upscale bar… It better do the REAL UPSCALE thing.
