Bronx BBQ

I’ve eaten here a few times over the years. The food is decent, and the portions are adequate. The place is clean and the wait staff is alright. The music is a bit too loud, though. It’s difficult to have a conversation while eating, and the type of music they play is more for a club or lounge and not really appropriate for a dine-​in restaurant. The coffee isn’t too good, but like I said, the food is decent. I always get the Rotisserie Chicken, and it’s always good. If you’re hungry and in the area and decide to stop in here, get the Rotisserie Chicken.

Came here on a Tuesday night. We were seated very quickly. Their menu has a lot of selections from American, Caribbean, Italian, Seafood, etc. It took me about 20 minutes to choose what I wanted to eat because of the mass selection. Food came very quick and it was fresh and hot. I ordered the henny colada. Their drink selection is similar to Dallas BBQ but it has way more options. The only issue I had was the drink was leaking too much. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would go here again.

I did take out, actually ordered through my phone using the Unilocal site (smiley face) took about 20 mins checked the food and everything that i ordered was there. I order honey fried chicken buffalo spicy wings a side of mash potatoes and corn bread. When i got home the first thing i ate were the buffalo wings they were delicious not too spicy or hot the carrots that came with it stucked. The honey chicken was literally friend chicken with with like the honey sitting on the bottom of the container. it didnt bother me much because i think i was hungry lol. but it was fair the mash potatoes were delicious nice and seasoned with the red skins still in them. I think the whole honey just sitting there is what kinda bummed me

LLLLAAAWWWDDDDD THE STEAK!: Ladies and gentlemen let me lay some truth on you. Now I’ve been to this place at least 5 times. First time I honestly hated it. Second and third not too convinced. Fourth time and beyond AMAZING… Now the drinks have always been absolutely on point. The value perception for the food I was getting initially was what really turned me off, as the prices are above average and the food was about average in quality .All was forgiven after I tried the steak and shrimp combo. Now if you have been looking for that good juicy southern fried or grilled steak THIS IS THE STOP!!! The juiciest steak I’ve had in a long time and seasoned to perfection. Value perception matched! Extremely hearty (warning). The shrimp scampi was the bomb and the cheesy, buttery, garlic sauce hit the sssspppppoootttttt!!!. Mac and cheese slammin, loaded baked potato slammin. Made a keeper out of me. So glad I never gave up on this place

I went to Bronx BBQ on May 13,2016 I ordered one drink that was 14.99. The next day I see that I was charged 69.75. I called them and the manager Charlie and he basically dismissed me and told me the problem was with my bank and the money will be returned to me in 24 hrs. I called my bank and they told me otherwise. He lied just to get me off the phone. So now I have to waste my time and go back all the way to Long Island to resolve the issue with another manager. They are unprofessional dont go there if you do bring cash only because they charge your card whatever they want.

Best spot for drinks! Get a beer if you’re a lightweight, these drinks are for drinkers. Food is great when you’re drunk, otherwise it’s just ok. However, there’s tons to choose from on the menu. So, the «bar» food (Hennessy wings, sliders etc) is good. The entrées, don’t expect much. Staff is beautiful and friendly. Place could be cleaner…

Stay away! The service is horrible. The waitress was so bad the manager had to give her a talk about her bad service. Then she turned around and spilled a drink all over me. The bathrooms are horrific. There should be a do not enter sign. There’s constant banging of dishes throughout the restaurant because the genius who run the place decided to put the dish washer behind the reception desk in the middle of the restaurant. The manager is a smart ass and he let it be known to everyone! He yells and bad mouths his employees and customers in front of anyone who wants to watch his show. I even had to get a taste of the action when I was greeted. Nothing can save this place. Just burn it down and start over fresh again.

Poor enviornment, food is ok, but not to the expectations according to its price, love the muffins served as starter tho.

I’m a fairly honest person so I can admit that this restaurant is in a less than desirable location. However, I’m only aware of that through word of mouth and through reading reviews not because of anything I’ve seen. This place has three things I really like — pretty girls, good food, and large portions. I want to say at least ²⁄₃ of the waitresses are really pretty and I know that doesn’t matter when it comes to quality but I like what I like, okay? Also, the food is bomb. The drinks are huge and pretty hit or miss. I’ve had some STRONG drinks here and some watered down ones but for a few extra dollars you can get an extra shot of whatever to give you a buzz. If you don’t pace yourself or eat beforehand you’ll probably leave feeling pretty nice but you’ll also probably get really full. They serve corn bread muffins that you can snack on while you order and wait which are so good, also, they come with whipped butter and I love me some whipped butter. I’ve been here way more times than I can count so I’ve tried a lot of things and I ALWAYS go back to the rasta pasta. In fact, I get disappointed with myself when I don’t order it. I always get it without the peas because gross. But I’ve also ordered the shrimp Caesar salad, chicken and waffles (so, so good), the coconut tempura shrimp, fried mac ‘n cheese balls, the coconut curry shrimp and chicken — I’ve always been satisfied. The servers are always pretty attentive and they wear hair nets which I thought I was a little odd but thinking about it, that’s great. I actually came here for my 24^th birthday and I had a coupon (lol, of course I did) for a free birthday cheesecake and they sang to me. I guess they could see it in my face that I was overwhelmed and my waitress actually apologized afterward which I thought was so cute. You didn’t do anything wrong, girl! I’m just a lot. Anyway, if you’re not scared of the neighborhood, I’d say go for it. Mind you, I haven’t been here in over a year but I’m planning to go back soon.

Long story short: On arrival police greeted us in the parking lot.
I don’t even want to waste my time writing a review. when I can simply save your life by telling you…“DO NOT ENTER!!!“
But anyway… here is how my night unfolded.
I came for a birthday dinner. The waiter and manager were very attentive to all of our needs. Despite the fact they got our small party of 10 orders messed up and billed us for the wrong orders. To top that off… the food tasted disgusting. Apparently my stomach agreed, because I am sitting near my toilet writing this review, due to the nausea the food has caused me.
To make matters worse. a larger party of 20 booted us out of our section prior to my party paying the bill
The party was evidently upset we were in their space
and it was very uncomfortable. I honestly felt threatened for my life.
So my fellow Unilocalers save yourself.
P.S: If you prefer to eat your meal in body armor be my guest.

Drinks and wings on point!
Had Toya as our bartender and the drinks were A+. Personality and service were also an A+.
Def. recommend.

I had dinner here courtesy of a friend and business partner on a weekend after we tried to locate for something else —she treated the 3 of us that night. It has that sportsbar ambiance but it is really more like a chain of family dining place anywhere else here in the East Coast. I had a cheeseburger with fries, which is among my typical orders if I visited a food place the first time. My friend wondered aloud why I would order burgers in a restaurant. I didn’t bother to say my piece as I was already hungry. Consensus among the 3 of us that night: food wasn’t good, including the oxtail. Fortunately my friend wasn’t in the mood to bitch around as the foodserver spoke in Haitian Creole language to her. Oh, well, all’s well that ends well. Am being grateful for the treat.

— This place came recommended from a close friend that lives in the area. We went on a Monday and the place wasn’t very packed, but not empty either. Out waitress, Cici, was very attentive and on top of everything. A basket of miniature cornbread muffins is brought to the table free of charge served with whipped butter. VERY GOOD. My guests and I ordered Texas Style wings Hennessy style and I had the Coconut Curry Chicken & Shrimp. Their drinks are also stronger when served fronzen! It was amazing. Overall I really enjoyed the restaurant and will come back again.

Mixed feelings about this place. So here’s my honest opinion:
PROS: food was SOOO DELICIOUS. Period; we got a basket of sweet mini cornbread muffins as soon as we sat down and there was a lot inside the basket plus nice whipped butter for spread; place was practically empty so we got seated right away; Place was clean and well decorated; food came out fast, hot, and was very big portion-​wise
CONS: our waitress was ok, but not great. She never even told us her name. She was patient and helpful, but I’ve had better; the drinks were definitely huge, but not that tasty, just kinda plain and the alcohol in them was weak. I got the Giant Strawberry Daquiri and my boyfriend got the Giant HennyColada; the place was surprisingly very empty, and this was a Sunday night. Strange; parking lot is small, but we managed to get a spot; it’s called Bronx BBQ but the décor is Asian. Strange.
Would I come back? Yes, probably. But not on my top fave restaurants. Overall 3 stars.

Bronx BBQ might be in a sketchy area, but the meal we had was legit. I was with my mom for lunch and we had the early bird special. We were greeted by our delightful server, Shanae, with warm mini corn muffins and whipped butter… off to a good start!
Our huge – and very easy on the wallet – meal consisted of 2 half chickens (moist meat with crisp skin – so good) served with zesty BBQ sauce and warm honey sauces (a nice touch) to dip in, with a side of crispy, piping hot, and nicely seasoned fries (mom had Spanish rice & beans) for $ 13.99. Because we were
extra hungry, we also ordered a side of Mac & cheese, which had good flavor, and was browned crisp on top (which I appreciated), but a little overcooked and mushy in the noodle department.
The menu is extensive and I was interested in the Hennessy glazed ribs. I’m sure we will be back to try those in the near future.

After dining here while a murder occurred outside of BBBQ roughly 6 months ago, I vowed to never return. However, that incident had 0 to do with the restaurant, skilled bar staff or Food. That incident didn’t stop me from returning for the Texas sized cocktails and meals.
I returned yesterday and one of my favorite managers was working. The girls on staff were competent, friendly and had pleasant singing voices (as they performed throughout the night… Turn this into a partial strip club already!!!) In an area dominated by chain restaurants, with TERRIBLE bars, BBBQ was my only saving grace for Bday drinks with my fellow Unilocal Elite and good friend. We ordered The Rick Ross (Hynotiq, Patron, and… rum?) and a Cadillac Margarita. Several sips in… I was ½ way trashed. Luckily, I know my poor tolerance and I ordered buffalo wings and Crab Wontons to absorb my alcohol content.
The Music here never fails. Any day of the week it’s a TURN UP. The staff is always pleasant. The food has been consistent for me. When ordering appetizers and meals: STICK TO BBQ Basics. Hot Wings, fry samplers etc. They also do very good Asian dishes here. My friend ordered the Samurai Stir Fry and it was very flavorful with fresh vegetables. For Meals: I highly suggest the Honey Fried Chicken, Asparagus and MAC N Cheese. Their Mac and Cheese is comparable to my Mother’s. That means it’s damn good.
DRANKS– Get the Hennessey Coolada, Run Punch OR Frozen Green Apple Martini. Give the extra test tube shot to the Bday Girl or Guy.
I have been here on numerous occasions for Late Night Dates and Girls Nights for cocktails and bites because of the atmosphere. It’s a FUN one. The ambiance is dim lighting and sexy and the live DJ makes it more interesting on weekends. They have a bar area that is very much separate from the main dining area and I appreciate it. While the rowdy ratchets watch the Knicks and Giants game, I can enjoy my Henney Coolada in peace.
BBBQ has won a special place in my heart. I’d like to see them bring in more skilled chefs and introduce a new menu sometime soon.

I used to frequent this location about 3 years ago and it was the spot. Lots of young people hanging out in the bar area, bartenders were cool which equated to great drinks and the bar bites were decent. My friends and I would always have a good time.
Fast foward to now… I stopped in last night with the idea of having a few drinks. Once we were seated though my stomach had other plans. Im a sometimes conscious eater and should have known there wouldnt be many food options on the menu for me. My husband and I stared at their extensive menu for 15 minutes trying to «settle» on what we would get.
The food we ordered was less than mediocre. My crab stuffed shrimp were tiny shrimp with a wad of «crab» stuffing. The stuffing tasted like flour, it was just bad. Hubbys chicken tacos were decent but overwhelmed with onions and tomatoes. Lettuce was little to non existent. We both had rice and beans as our sides and agreed it was the best tasting thing on our plates.
Ofcourse our drinks were good. Big, strong and had both of us feeling nice at the end of the night. On top of that, we downed the Henny and Malibu shooters we ordered right before we left.
The bar area here is not my scene anymore and table service just for drinks, I think, would be a bit weird and unexpected. Only benefit is you get their cornbread when you sit at a table, hopefully they can work on making sure it’s warm when they serve it to you.

Born and raised in the Bronx. BBQ always been in my top ten restaurant dinning. Here today for lunch celebrating my birthday. I actually love the doors to enter. The wood work is elegant. Wish I had them on my doors. Once you enter. The bar location completely separate from the dinning area. We were the only ones there for dinning. Our hostess walked us too our booth. Immediately she offered drink options. Omg what a glass presentation. Still sipping. Lol. I ordered curry shrimp and chicken with yellow rice and unfortunately wasn’t able too finish it all. Container to go was my option. Décor of the place makes you feel like your in a dungeon. Fire flaming lights too their cozy booth. Everything layed out so no matter where your dinning you can see the television. Staffing very friendly.

I live in the Bronx… the BBQ’s I’m accustomed to is Dallas, but my date insisted Bronx BBQ’s got my favorite joint beat! I’m very sad to report HE WAS RIGHT! :(
The menu was overwhelming at first… literally 10 pages of everything from Mexican, Italian, Southern, Asian.. you name it– they probably got it! I protested to my date that ANY restaurant this ambitious of a menu can’t be all that. Of course I could not try everything in 1 nite, but from what I ordered was absolutely delicious.
My only complaint really was my drink. I ordered WHITE SANGRIA.. they only make red, but my server improvised & mixed Zinfendel, Bacardi & Peach Snouts 2gether with cherries.. omg so strong for me since I’m no drinker. I’m a wuss & only seldom sip white wine. But I applaud her efforts.

I’m giving this place 5 stars. Our waitress Vanessa was a complete sweetheart & very accommodating. She was thorough. Vanessa checked on us often but not to the point where she went overboard.
The service was good. We were seated within 10 mins on a packed Friday night. We started off with Sangria which was light & refreshing. The corn muffins are addicting but I’m not sure why. They’re mediocre at best.
I love that the waitresses/​waiters come off with a positive upbeat attitude. They actually look like they want to be here & are happy to serve customers. What a big difference from the last time I was here.
I ordered Shrimp & Chicken Parmigiana with Penne. It came with a choice of salad or soup. I ordered the House Salad with Blue Cheese. It was delicious.
