The food was delicious, service was great and the price was perfect for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend the sweet and sour soup and the walnut shrimp. Some of my favorites. But can’t go wrong with anything. Easy to find the restaurant.

Fast and Friendly Service! Great Kung-Pao! Try the chicken or shrimp kung-pao. Or better yet, try the kung-pao combination! Excellent!

I have no idea why there are any bad reviews on this establishment. Great food, friendly and fast service which I have relied on time after time.

Came in with a big group, about 14 people. Took 30 mins to set up a table and the restaurant was empty! Finally we get seated and takes another 20 mins for our waiter to take our orders including our drinks. Then she refuses to take our order because some of us were paying in separate checks. Very rude lady!

Monday night Dinner for 4 — Chose the Family Meal B. Service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive and quick for refills, but the food was mediocre. The fried rice had a hint of burned taste, the meat entrees had more vegetables that meat pieces, the egg rolls were meh, and the Cashew chicken was 80% cashews/celery, 20% chicken bits. Most likely will not return.

Egg rolls tasted like the frozen vegetable rolls you can buy. Spare ribs were terrible and chewy and no flavor. Moo shoo was the only thing that was decent, but I means it’s moo shoo. Soups were really bad. The lo mein tasted like water/nothing. This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I really miss the Chinese back east

Walked in here about 6 pm on Wednesday night. Was a bit concerned I was the only person here. the help was just sitting at a back table. The woman got up from the booth and pointed to a booth for me. I had to use the restroom, so I headed back. noticing the once ornate red carpet had a black foot trail running through the place. I had to wonder how they could be so dirty when nobody was there… they certainly had time to clean… The restroom was a bit like a the restrooms at the local 7eleven, not completely disgusting, but could use a basic wipe down. The white light switch plate was black with filth. Also not a window in the place, made me wonder about the neighborhood, but how could it not be safe sandwiched between a gay bathhouse and a liquor store, sharing a parking area with an adult video store, family dentist, and small strip mall type church… LOL. Actually I felt very safe, this is just my conservative small town upbringing having a laugh. Anyway. Dirt aside. I ordered Pork Chop Suey Mongolian beef, Moo Shoo Pork, and Kung Pao Chicken. KPC was quite spicy, and although the flavor was good, the peanuts were clearly added after because they were cold and not cooked. also a bit too much Bell pepper. but otherwise OK. MB and PCS were also tasty although the meat was a bit chewy, not an issue since I still have my teeth. and finally the Moo Shoo pork. Awesome. This was probably the best of the 4 dishes. I do not get this often as the wife does not care for it, but she was not with me so I get what I wanted. If you are keeping track or wondering… Yes my 300 pound ass ordered 4 entrees by myself, but I did not eat it all. I had 2 more meals the next day(I love cold Chinese food). So 3 meals for $ 50 including an $ 8 tip. I must have been in a good mood. Service– the lady who sat me seemed only to take an order and not be able to do much else. the busboy and one of the cooks brought my food. They were both very friendly and made sure I enjoyed my meal. By 6:45 there were finally 4 other tables, and I only heard positive comments about the food. I paid and the woman took my money but one of the guys from the kitchen had to come out and get my change. I’m really not sure I understand her purpose… but not my problem. Now I’m sure given some of my past reviews someone may be thinking I was generous to this restaurant, here is why. I have been to many Chinese restaurants and as a result have begun rating them on their own scale, here in referred to as the«Chinese Scale», as they seem to have a stereotype(that fits well) of being dirty. The service was good, again compared to many of the Chinese restaurants I have been to in Monterey Park(I really wish I would remember to review them) Anyway, again on the Chinese Scale the service was good. Another oddity of this restaurant is they have Cheesecake for desert or Ice cream Bön Bön’s. Nothing wrong with that, just never knew cheesecake was a Chinese tradition

I usually order my Chinese from China Lites(yummy) but decided to try this place for the first time because they left a menu on my door recently and they are a bit closer. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the pan fried meat dumplings. It got here super fast(yay!) and looked/smelled amazing(yay again!). Delivery person was very nice(triple yay!). Unfortunately that’s where the good news ends. The food was really, really bland. Like SUPER bland. I was disappointed enough that I actually threw my leftovers away(that NEVER happens — I can usually stretch three full meals out of an order of Chinese). Maybe their entrees are better but I think I’ll pass on finding out at this point, as it was just a waste of money entirely. I’ll be sticking with China Lites, I guess!

I do not trust this place. When I was there I watched a staff member write down someone’s credit card information. I really worry about fraud. If you go, definitely pay cash. The food is good but not worth ruined credit.

BESTCHINESEFOODINTHEVALLEY. I have not been able to find any other place that compares. The portions are great, prices are great, and service is also great. I don’t really understand a lot of the other reviews that complain about pricing and service. We are not in chinatown. We’re in the heart of the valley. Prices are not comparable. Food tastes great too I’ve tried most of the items on their menu and all of them are great. If you’re looking for some solid chinese food whether to dine in or to go this is definitely a MUSTTRY. Their wonton soup is on point as well.

I have not been here for a long time and was surprised to see that it changed names. I am not sure if the place changed owners because many of the employees seem to be the same. The décor has been updated but unfortunately the décor does not do anything for the foods taste, quality, or serving size. I would rather eat in a clean hole in the wall than some fancy place that has bad tasting food. The food here is awful. The meat is tough and gristly. Many times what you think is meat is cartilage or fat. Too much corn starch and batter coating the meat makes it too doughy. They use too much salt. The sweet and sour pork and orange chicken were awful because too much coating and poor quality of the meat. I am beginning to think they are trying to get their remodeling expenses back quickly. Prices are high too, for what you get. Too bad because this used to be a nice place for a decent lunch or dinner. I think either the previous chef left or he started drinking and not caring… either way it is bad for the customer, the place has potential. Strip mall steam table Chinese food is better than this. You have been warned.

Good food– very good service. I just went, and was pleasantly surprised by both. Our huge order came out within five minutes– mindblowingly fast. Our family platter was cooked to the specifications and I got to try many items on their menu– all very good. Service was amazing and professional. Cool place, decent prices as well. Minus one star because i had a really really full feeling after eating not sure why. I guess panda and many other Chinese foods do that to me too– always better to cook this type of food yourself id you can

I walked in with my girlfriend and placed a to go over. We chose the chicken friend rice & orange chicken, both a la cart. The food arrived about five minutes later, which was pretty quick. And boy was it heavy. We drove off, and started eating as soon as we got home. The food was hot, the chicken fried rice edible. But the orange chicken was GARBAGE. orange blob of jello mush. With almost no chicken. My girlfriend loves orange chicken and she didn’t want to have anything to do with it. To say the least that I was very disappointed is an understatement. The food was not cheap by any means 20 dollars for 1 medium plate and one small plate. I will never return to golden sky. And I hope this review keeps you from going in the first place.

Just had some sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and some beef chowmein. The food was here was ok. But it could have been better. Chowmein was kind of flavorless. The thai tea boba was bomb though. Definitely get that if you come here.

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I’ve seen it change from«Mandarin Pavilion» to «Eastern Palace» and now«Golden Sky.» I must admit I like some of the food but now I find myself eating less of their chicken and beef since it’s not the best. The prices are a bit over the top. As I said, I’ve been coming here for years and recently their portions have downsized and prices have risen. I always come here with my family and we always share so these smaller plates are not worth the price. Service is okay. Staff isn’t very friendly. My family and I have been coming here for ages and the service remains the same, even though most of the staff already knows us. Despite that, you would think we at least deserve a smile from the lady with the short hair who has been here since the beginning. I’ve always liked the restaurant itself, it’s quiet. And just a few years ago they refurnished their furniture so it looks nice. I do have to say their location is a bit scary at night. Parking is always available, unless it’s packed for some reason. Their Wonton Soup and Cha Cha Mein are some of my favorites, they never get old. My sister and I used to love their Chow Mein, but over the years they noodles have become mushier and greasier. If you decide to come here, I would recommend ordering something light such as their Wonton Soup.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews. We have been getting take out for years and love the food. It used to be called Golden Palace — then it became Golden Sky — but the food is the same. Some of the dishes we have tried: Pan Fried Pork Potstickers — some of the best I have ever had. Homemade, fresh — fantastic. I love love love potstickers and these are amazing. General Tao’s Chicken — really good Shredded Pork — really good Honey Walnut Shrimp — too sweet for me — but the hubby liked it Sweet and sour shrimp — good House Special Chow Mein — good and gives you left overs for a week!
