As soon as you walk in the place you can tell this owner doesn’t care about cleanliness or appearance. Even the cashier looked greasy and not very presentable. I had a certificate from this place but they told me it wasn’t valid either. Plus they’re grade was a B. Food was okay though but still I don’t think I’ll be visiting this place anymore!

On weekends they make homemade tortillas but they often sell out. I enjoy their taquitos Dorado’s. I’ve also had their Chiles rellenos. Both have been very good. The place is mom & pop and they mainly speak Spanish but they do have pics with numbers on the wall. Good for take out, they have a few tables.

Like this place… quick delicious homemade Mexican food. Prices are good and the staff is very friendly during the summer it can get way too hot to eat in there but overall I think it deserves 4 stars

First off, the area in front of and the area to the side of this place stinks like there is a rotting corpse. Upon further investigation, I found overflowing used oil tanks causing the rotting smell. At this point, I contacted the Los Angeles County Department of Health with a complaint and they said they don’t have a record of any food establishment by the name: «House of Taco» at the address of 13521 Sherman Way Unit G. I couldn’t believe it! I think a word to the wise… check out food establishments with some diligent research before you decide to eat there. Here is the link for where you can check out legitimate places to eat in Los Angeles County:

I love the tacos! Giving 4 stars because they are a little too slow on taking orders and preparing food. Other than that the food is good with reasonable prices…

I ate here today for the first time and it was okay. I think this is the only restaurant that has a menu(a large one at that), with NO prices mentioned anywhere! The only prices are located in their to-go menus. Prices are average(not overpriced). Nothing fancy. They add guacamole to their burritos(very little). The place is too average and I won’t be back as a result. It was worth a shot.

Bland food. Ordered a asada burrito and it really have flavor. But they have fried chicken which seems interesting for a Mexican hole in the wall joint. Stayed tuned for further comments about that in the near future.

I really like their tacos. Small little place, family owned I think. Good food, pretty good prices.

After a long day at work, I decided to fill my stomach with what was missing during my lunch hour. I wanted a Taco Truck feeling, but at the same time go to a place my mother goes once-in-awhile. Al Pastor here I come… The location of House of Taco is between Varna and Woodman. Its located near the Laundromat and almost next to the wash(LA River Connector). I walked in around 9:20pm to an empty store. Most of the customers were probably in earlier doing their laundry and now drying and loading their cars. I ordered my favorite… Al Pastor Burrito with No Chile($ 4.50). My total was $ 4.93. The wait was about 5 – 6 minutes. My order came and it was on a plate. I forgot to say to go… OOPS. They went ahead and wrapped it in foil. They added more chips and radishes. YUMMMO!!! Burrito is quite big(That’s what she said). I still had spice in it, but it didn’t quite burn my tongue like the Taco Trucks in Castaic did. Radishes were my favorite side to eat to help calm my mouth if there was still spice in it. Usually helps anyways. The place is still good to go. I haven’t been here in awhile and I remember uploading their menu probably a year ago. I remember buying tacos for my mother’s patients and I wish she still asked to me get some… Despite some of the patients may die from eating spicy food… lol. The Unilocal Universe. Where are you traveling today?

Okay. so maybe I’ll have to check this place out again. BUT my first experience here wasn’t all that great. I went with my mom and brother, we didn’t order anything out of the ordinary.. I got a burrito, my mom some tacos, and my brother a Carne Asada plate. KEEPINMINDWEWERETHEONLYPEOPLEINTHERESTAURANT! So whyyyyy did we have to wait almost 25 minutes? That’s ridiculous! So instead of really complaining, I thought«hmmm the food here must be good because theyre taking so long, it must be fresh». I get home and the food wasn’t that great, I might as well have opened my freezer and have gotten out a FROZENBURRITO! . But hey! Like I said. it was my first time, and maybe the cook wasn’t in tgr mood to «cook» . I’ll stop by in the near future and give an update. :)

This is the real deal. Small, bright colored, and delicious. They don’t speak any english here at all and that’s totally cool. They have some of the best platters out there and they are very very cheap. They have a chili relleno and taco platter that are to die for and if your in the mood, Menudo can be made on request. I used to stop here when I lived in Van Nuys when I was doing my laundry next door. There were never more than 2 people at a time in the restaurant so I could always find a seat, and the lady at the counter always remembered me… maybe because I was the only asian she met who spoke spanish. In any case, totally stop here but don’t go in groups and don’t go at night, kinda a shady area. But during the day totally stop here for a quick bite. Enjoy!
