Over priced bland food. Not authentic Mexican food. Even though I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with no sides… they still charged me for rice and beans… even after I brought it up to the waitress. 2THUMBSDOWN.

Not El Crapatio, but not very good Mexican food either. The Salsa was watery. The Chips were Meh-xican. Worst of all was El Tapatio’s «famous» Burrito Tapatio. A below average blend of flavorless rice, beans, cheese, and beef was stuffed into a flour tortilla and then covered in bits of lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, and the weakest«Spanish Sauce» ever. There may be better menu items to order. In fact, I’m sure there are because the Burrito Tapatio(for $ 10.50) was not a good representation of Mexican-style burritos. As the only customer in the restaurant for a late lunch, the server was genuinely nice and responsive. She’s worthy of a bonus star on her own; however, sadly, there was little she could do to rescue the tasteless Burrito Tapatio … or El Tapatio from a 2-star«you’ve-experienced-better» rating.

Server was friendly, our food took about 20 minutes after ordering. And we weren’t impressed with any of it over all. It’s decent Mexican food. Nothing to go out of your way for.

We expected the same quality, service and atmosphere at this location to be the same as Hazel Dell. That is not the case. Greeted with total indifference and it went downhill from there. The food was marginal and the service was no better. We walked out knowing that we will not go back.

Nothing special but I have no complaints. I keep it pretty simple and order chicken enchiladas. Consistently good but not really memorable. I do think this restaurant deserves better reviews than it has gotten. All in all its just your typical«authentic» Mexican restaurant. Give it a try if you’re in the mood.

The worst Mexican food I have had ever in my life :( It make me sad to say this because the service and everyone there was really nice. The chorizo was literally ground beef with no seasoning and eggs. The tamales tasted like it just came out of the deep freezer, then microwaved and covered with canned sauce and cheddar cheese. The chili rellenos were just as disgusting as the tamales. The poor Bell Pepper did not do a good job and masquerading as a green chili. Then result of all this ranting is just never eat at this place pretending to be a Mexican restaurant.

Sad sad little place. Poor imitation of Mexican food. Bland and boring. Sauces had no flavor. Beans and rice were lacking. Enchiladas were small and limp. In s day and age where there are so many good options, I would skip this one.

Just don’t. There is no reason to. The place is filthy. Just gross really. The food has no flavor. I’m not sure how you find chorizo without flavor but they did it. The only flavor I had in my dish(arroz con pollo) came from the cheese which was oddly melted on the bottom. Definitely a never going back place.

Consistently good. Nothing here that stands out. Just good simple Mexican standbys.

I have eaten here many times. They are fast. The food is consistent and service is quite good. The cuisine is an Americanized Mexican food and I would love it if they offered a little healthier menu, but they are quite good.

this place has good service but really gross food. never order the nachos. Shirley temples were good lots of extra cherries. I won’t be back here anytime soon that’s for sure. the food was brought pretty quickly which I appreciate but I would have rather gone to Taco Bell I could have saved some money.

Have you ever noticed that most towns have at least one Mexican and one Chinese restaurant with the exact same menu, even though they are clearly not«chain» restaurants? Well, this is Salmon Creek’s pseudo-chain Mexican spot and it’s everything I would expect and hope for. Decent food, though not surprising. Good, quick, genuine service. Surprisingly tasty salsa and fresh warm chips. My family and I are regulars, and our favorites include the Chili Colorado Burrito, the Fish Tacos, and the Burrito Jalisco. The kids love the simple bean burritos. I have not been a fan of the Burrito Tapatio(chicken was bland) and the Carne Asada was a bit overcooked/dry. I will also say the fajitas were a bit odd/unexpected the one time I had them(I think they had a mole’ sauce on them?!?). On the other hand, the Cadillac Margarita is surprisingly strong: one will give you a buzz; two and you may need to walk home! Needless to say, we order those every time! ;) Three stars for exactly meeting my expectations for a neighborhood strip mall Mexican joint.

Just not impressed. Slow service and the restaurant wasn’t even busy… should have been a sign.

Nothing special — pretty good for cheap, fatty food. The service was fast and friendly though. Salsa was very ordinary, tasted mostly like spicy tomato sauce. My enchilada was covered in cheese, which was not a huge surprise — being a chain mexican restaurant in a strip mall.

Alright, folks! I’ve recently moved to the Vancouver, WA area, and it only seems appropriate that my first food review would be Mexican. My second will, too, but let’s just get this one out of the way, shall we? Went here for lunch. Salsa tasted like Pace, maybe, or some other budget jar brand. Cheese enchilada was swimming in a very wet mixture of sauce and cheese, and was hard to find, and unfortunately, flavorless. I didn’t order the beef taco they brought me, so I had to wait for the chili relleno, which was also swimming in even more sauce and cheese. It literally fell apart as I found it, did not seem to be a poblano pepper, and did not appear to have cheese inside. I didn’t finish either item, and chose instead to dip chips in my beans and rice, which wasn’t bad. I gave them one extra star because the owner went above-and-beyond to help us find my wife’s Ray Bans, which was very cool! The food, though, left me very unimpressed, and I felt it in my gut well into the dinner hour.

The NW is not particularly known for its Mexican food, so this place is perhaps one of those rare«jewel in the back of the drawer» varieties when it comes to that fare of food. That is especially important given that this is part of a regional chain. I’ve been to other area locations and have not seen the same level of consistent flavor and quality. Ample portions, though the service can be somewhat inconsistent. The style of cooking is reminiscent of Sonoaran variety, so look for food that will not be overbearing in heat, but still flavorful in spice and texture. Perhaps the best Mexican beer to accompany this style of food… Bohemia dark. The slightly sweet taste couples well with most smoky flavors. Get out of your jammies and throw the kids in the car, and get yourself there because you can feed your baseball team well!

My husband and I love going here. I love their quesadillas and the guacamole is awesome. This place is great if you want some delicious greasy food, not if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food. So don’t go there with false expectations. The servers are super friendly, even to margherita marinated customers looking to practice the Spanish they learned on their trip to a Cancun resort or something equally as absurd. The best part about this place is that it’s open relatively later than most sit-down place in Vancouver, which isn’t saying much, but pretty notable.

We’re never coming back. The waiter was rude, the salsa was lousy, the food was bland, the drink was awful, and they charged $ 1.75 when we asked for sour cream on the enchilada. This was our second trip to this location(the first was a 3), and it is definitely the last. The waiter was wearing a worn green polo and greeted us with a brusque«How many, amigos.» It was said as a statement, not a question. That was when we should have realized he did not want to be there that night. When he took our order, it was«Are you ready yet, amigos?» When there are three tables filled in a restaurant with 12 booths and several tables, it’s not nice to feel rushed. The salsa and chips arrived, the chips were warm and smelled nice. We chatted over what we wanted, had some chips, laughed because salsa was too spicy, very runny, and the onions still had the papery skin on them in the salsa, but we were just trying to relax and have a good time. Ordered a drink and a soda, and while the soda was in a nice big chipped plastic cup with lots of ice, the«cappuccino coffee» was black coffee with a little booze in it and a few strings of whipped cream across the top and it did not taste good. It didn’t taste very boozy, either. It tasted like the coffee had sat for a day or two, then been microwaved, booze added, and served. The food arrived: tacos(smaller, different than last time), tamale(small), enchilada(salty), Chile Relleno(made with an Anaheim instead of a Poblano, but that is pretty common here), with refried beans(only choice) and some red-stained rice that looked like it was supposed to have flavor. At least the portions were large. The waiter only showed up to take our order, serve our drinks, and serve our food. He never came to check on us, never once smiled or acted like he wanted us there(hey, it matters to us!), and he became rude and insulting when we asked for the drink to be removed from the bill since it was awful and we didn’t drink it. We said he should also let people know if they charge $ 1.75 to add sour cream to a dish, and he grabbed a menu, slapped it open and pointed at the side dishes saying«It right there, didn’t you see it? It in the menu!» He was pointing at a price that said $ 1.25, so we told him that and turned to leave and he came around the counter waving the menu, pointing at it, and talking very quickly and angrily as we left. It could be worse, at least we had a coupon. Then again, that was the reason we went there.
