Tender Green Chinese Kitchen

I went to have lunch Thursday afternoon, the front of the building had not change for last 20 years, and insides still smell like a bar. I ordered pork chow mein, sweet-​and-​sour pork and the crab puffs for lunch. The egg flower soup was okay, pork chow mien was bland, however the sweet-​and-​sour pork and the crab puffs were terrible. Even the fortune cookie was stale.
I tried this restaurant 20 years ago and it has gotten worst. I would not ever go back!

They were super fast delivering our dinner! Order was correct, food was hot and delicious!
Doesn’t get any better!

went for first time after midnight new years eve. we were hungry had craving and nothing open. bar was hoping with bad karaōke. we sat in restaurant side. only ones there. asked how potstickers were amd bartender/​waitressed raved about them. they were frozen and nothing special. got combo and asked for something other than lemon chicken. waiter thought for sec. and said no. restaurant was filthy. food came quickly. tasted ok. tried to pull all the greasy thick batter off the chicken. only used the soy sauce because it was a brand new bottle we had to take cap off. brought home leftovers but food did not agree with me and I chose to throw them away! now we know why have never been in the 6 years we have lived here. Won’t be back… did this used to be a pizza place? they still have the décor of it…

Food is good but not a lot for your money. I’ve never seen more than 1 table of people whenever I’ve been in there (at least on the restaurant side). This might be why the small portioning. The bar is always pretty full of what I assume are the regulars. Better’n panda but costly for the portions.

I get a headache and feel nauseous after I eat their food, I think they put MSG in it. I ate there a couple times hoping that it was just a bad day, but the third time is the last time to try it out.
What a bummer :(

Good old fashioned «Ol-​School» Chinese diner food. Inexpensive, quick and just what I expected.

Our family has been a customer of Tender Green for almost 15 years. We have always been satisfied with the food. The lemon chicken is one of the best menu items they have! Our families all time favorite the Pop Tsui (appetizer). Even though they are open late, I suggest ordering your food before 8 o’clock. With my experience, the food is a lot fresher when you order it earlier then later.

Boom-​This place makes some dang slap me upside down wonderful tasty orange chicken, and I said Whoo!
If you add on yourself some broccoli beef and sweet n sour pork, hahahahah hhhmmmm, just lay back and enjoy the ride cause you’re takin a trip to wonderland! And I said hot damn get your fanny down there!!!

We just had dinner tonight overall The restaurant is dirty A lot of bikers The food is very poor and overpriced Service was terrible Best is to just Passby our waitress is always mad for some reason no refills for the modern day it’s like going back to China

Last 3 times I went there they seemed to have a new chef. The quality of craftmanship was not up to the same level as the previous chef. Not going back.

I’m giving it a 4* rating because the lemon chicken, fried shrimp and egg flower soup was VERY good. The Chicken sub gum chow mein was way way over salted even my 3 yr old wouldn’t eat it but they remade it for me and it was decent then. Prices are good for lunch special too.

I am always so afraid of trying a new Chinese place, because of a few bad experiences in Portland. But with Tender Green it was a different and great experience. Hot Sour Soup the way I had at home, and Egg Drop Soup that shocked my husbad.
It’s a strange location and not the best décor, but what «good» Chinese restaurant does. If you are in the Vancouver area I would recommend it. It took me awhile to go in but now I go there whenever possible.
