Love the new location, our meal very nice. Scotch eggs & Sausage Rolls were nicely cooked & well presented. I am a true«limey» and a pretty good judge of what’s good & really«British» Not to be critical, but, some of the bar staff need a little extra training on pouring Guiness correctly. Will definitely recommend & return in the future

Delicious food and great atmosphere. The train the goes around the room is adorable. I just wish the food was less expensive, then I’d eat there all the time.

A great place to get a pint of beer! Always a few great rotating taps. The bar staff is great! They’re really friendly and knowledgable. I’ve never had an entrée here but it looks like good pub food. Come for the beer!

My wife and I went in for authentic fish and chips. Service was excellent but the cook was completely unaware of virtues of salt. After pouring most of bottle of salt on my food, I can say we enjoyed our meal.

Well I used to love the place, however when I arrived tonight and asked for a Blue Moon and the bartender Andrea Said she would have to sell me a 6 oz sample of another wheat beer I never heard of I am a little put off. First of all, I don’t need 6 oz to sample, nor am I looking for free hand outs. Just wanted to have one taste of a beer I never heard of. Next time(however not sure there will be one) I’ll order a full one and send it back if I don’t like! Come on people! Really! Cost pennies for a sip, but loose local business? Hmm

Foodies, check this place out. Excellent pub food with a British twist. I’ve had the huge pulled pork sammie & the club, so far, and both were excellent. Most everything comes with«chips», AKA great steak fries. The bar and dining area are separate, which I always like. I believe the bar area has a TV, but not certain. I would think if you’re named after a sporting event, you’re gonna have a TV. Overall, one of Venice’s best pubs for food.

Always amazing service and delicious food. I’m a sucker for a good Caesar salad and BOP sure has a good one. Also the«chips» are fantastic!

Just finished dining here with my parents. All of the food was excellent. Mom and I split baked brie app, Dad had Scotch eggs. These were followed by fish and chips, a steak and ale pie, and veggie pie. The fish was fried to perfection and crispy. The pies came out flaky and served at the table. Just delicious! We decided we had to try the Bread Pudding and that was excellent as well. Great place. We will be back!

Just arrived and had jet lag and wasn’t feeling well so we drove to the new location to take a meal to go. The chicken pasty was dried out and tasted like it was microwaved. A few nights later we went back to eat in. Had chicken strips. Three strips, batter doesn’t stay on and the chicken was kind of hard and in a cube form??? This time, the pasty was practically raw, had not one piece of broccoli in it and about two cubes of chicken. The service was not good and yet the restaurant was practically empty on a weekday night. The atmosphere was nice and better than the old locaton. Updated and comfortable. THey needed the redo.

The new location is really nice inside. They have liquor now which is really good. My personal opinion is they have the best hamburgers in town. They also have really good chicken wings. I like to go there at least once a month.

We are so disappointed. We loved going to the old location. Also loved the food. But there is room for improvement in the new place. There was piped in music that was very loud and not conducive to eating. Also the chandelier and sconces were very bright. The old location was dim and cozy. I walked into the bar area just to see if the music was as loud as where the diners ate. Low and behold! No music and dim lights! The bar was full of patrons! My husband ordered the chicken strips. He said they were tasty but that 3 small pieces wasn’t a dinner. I had a chef salad. It was good but laughable! I had one grape tomato cut in half and a half of a hard boiled egg cut in half. My husband doesn’t want to go back he said the Cracker Barrel has better food. I want to give them another chance.

Having visited the prior location on Tamiami Trail we decided to try the new location on Jacaranda. We were seated in the back dining room which was supposed to look like a library but it was very noisy. The new facility lacks the pub atmosphere that we expected and were used to. The menu is much different at the new location but that wasn’t half the problem. The food was mediocre at best and lacked any resemblance to British food. The corned beef was more like sliced deli meat. The fish appeared to be frozen and lacked taste. If the food quality remains the same and the ambiance stays strip-mallish this relocation will be the demise of a once good restaurant.

Every one at our table of eight enjoyed the food and drink except the guy that ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was skimpy and came on a roll that seemed to have been frozen and oven thawed. Why can’ we get good crispy crust rolls and bread in Fl?

I went on Friday and although the restaurant was busy I was seated expediently. I am a craft beer guy and was pleasantly surprised by their vast selection and variety. Our server was friendly from the start and our drinks arrived without delay. My girlfriend’s pub punch was strong and tasty. For food I went with the all you can eat fish and chips for $ 15, be a deal at twice the price in my mind. The fish and chips came out crispy and super fresh tasting. The second portion i ordered came out even tastier. My girlfriend went with the Beef Bomber. She will typically eat half her dinner and take the rest home but it was so good her plate was clean and no doggie bag needed. A table next to ours ordered the Medium Honey Garlic wings as an appetizer and they looked and smelled so good. I can’t wait to try them on our next visit. We stopped at the bar for an after dinner drink and were delighted by Bruce the bartender’s wit and charm. Good stuff BOP!

We went there Friday night, wow, amazing and super busy. Looking forward to off season when most of the birds are gone so I can enjoy a peaceful meal without having to hear eh, oout, etc. Food; had fish and chips, so goooood, and a full service bar, I think 20 taps of beer, Andrea was our host behind the bar, can’t recall her partner’s name, but he knows his beers! Thank You for moving to the neighborhood. Dan

We decided to try the new British Open Pb this evening for dinner. We waited about 20 min for a table. We knew what we wanted by then so we ordered food at the same time as drinks. Then we waited almost an hour for our food. About 40 minutes in the waitress apologized that our order mistakenly went in after a large party and offered us a side salad while we wait. 20 minutes after salad… Food can out… Just after the couples food next to us that had just come in 15 prior. The kitchen obviously is experiencing growing issues… Or they need better help back there. And while we were there, for like 2 hours, not one person came by to sweep the disgusting floor near us as people left there tables. This was our first visit. We will be back at sometime… Cannot base a true review on one visit. I will update at that time. But based on our experience tonight… 2 is all I got.

I went with a group of 8 during the 1st week at the new location. Tre was our server and even though it was slammed busy he exceeded all expectations. Dinner was phenomenal and I will be a regular at this restaurant!

First time at the newly opened restaurant and they certainly have some work to do. We were seated at 4PM(old folks) but had to summon the owner to get a server after a wait of 10 minutes. Owner was very apologetic and explained that it was the changing of the shifts. Still the hostess should have handled it better. I ordered the Fish and Chips, large size for $ 12.99. The fish was very lightly breaded and was mushy. I’m used to the coating to be harder more cooked, but that might be British way of frying??. Steak fries were fine. My wife had the bangers and mashed, which again was very bland reflecting the normal British cuisine. Her food was just okay. We’re not sure we will be back but we live only a half a mile away and it would be convenient to have a nice local restaurant, but it has to be a good place to go. The bar seats about 16 and was full at 4PM. Overall we were disappointed. MIght try it again in several months once they get their feet on the ground and make the necessary changes and improvements. I think this place is double their older place which might account for some of the problems
