Don Felix – Cemitas Poblanas

CEMITAS are a type of Mexican sandwich (from Puebla). Not the torta you’re use to getting from a typical taco truck, they have much denser, heartier buns, and the insides are heartier to match. This is not a dainty little sandwich.

Amazingly generous portions of nicely-​seasoned meat, zesty (but not overpoweringly spicy) red sauce, many slices of avocado, shredded cheese… this sandwich is generously made, it’s an entire meal. The ingredients are perfectly matched to give you rich flavors. I can’t believe it’s only $ 7!
BURRITOS and TACOS — all excellent, and also generously filled with flavorful ingredients. A good fallback if you’re not in the mood for a Cemita.
Whenever I’ve come here there are always Latinos getting food. That’s always a good sign, when the food is being eaten by the people who grew up with it (like going to a sushi place and seeing lots of Japanese people there).
