When the meeester told me about a poke truck I immediately said«Hhhmm, interesting!» Followed by a quick change of topic because… Well. Poke? On a truck? Sounds iffy. I’ve watched enough YouTube videos showing worms on raw fish. Blech. Well, thank goodness for perseverance. Spicy Poke * I love anything spicy so this is definitely on the top of my list. Raw ahi tuna, soy sauce, sesame seeds, spicy mayo and sriracha. Of course, I have to have it with rice. Eerry thang taste better with rice.(Yes, yes. I’m Asian. #represent) Wasabi Poke * Want to clean your sinuses? Get this one. Got that added oomph from the wasabi. Original Poke * I was sick when I tried this so I could say my taste buds were funky but considering this is how I normally make my own poke, I’d say this is also good. Anywhoo, they cater y’all. All info is on their website ; just make sure to invite me if they’ll cater your party, kay? Kay.

Some people are weirded out by fish from a truck — don’t be, the quality here is pretty great. I like the aloha bowl with seaweed. Rice if you want the combo of the warm rice and cold tuna, or chips if you want the crunch to go with the softness. Definitely would recommend.

The fish on this truck is soooo fresh — not just for a food truck — for any quality restaurant. Really good poke — my favorite food truck. Try the Aloha poke — my personal favorite and true to classic Hawaiian poke.

Great poke! Love all of them, but my favorite is the Spicy poke with chili oil and extra onions. They are a regular at Santa Monica Food Truck alley, and are one of my favorite trucks in town. The guys who work there are cool, and do a great job customizing every order. Give ‘em a try, they won’t disappooint!

Aloha poke– raw ahi tuna, with kale, sesame oil, macadamia nuts with white rice. It was okay– the fish was fresh but I barely ate the rice. It wasn’t fluffy and they’d smushed the rice so much that the texture felt off. For the price and taste, I’d rather go to Sweet Fin.

Delicious, healthier option amongst other food trucks and friendly quick service. Tried the spicy bowl with rice. Fairly inexpensive, fresh & good! It was a little spicy but not too bad, I will be back!

Tried poke to go for the first time yesterday. Really loved the spicy one with mayo and siracha. Super fresh fish with great ingredients… how can you go wrong? I also heard that they just started a dinner delivery service… awesome idea! Great service and great food.

I love this truck. I would visit seven days a week if I could. The fish and other ingredients are very fresh. It’s a great value. The portions are substantial.

@poke2go You have to appreciate it when you come across a food truck that is being run by people who understand how to run a food truck. It sort of boils down to «Do one or two things very well and don’t try to do everything» Ever come across a truck with a very large menu that doesn’t execute everything as well as the could? I’ve found a few. Poke 2 Go I’m happy to say, is not one of those. They make Poke, and they make it well. And they don’t try to serve everything! Good work guys! I tried the spicy poke which has spicy mayo and Sriracha added to it. The got the amount of Sriracha perfect so that it enhanced the saltiness of the Poke without overwhelming it. Two things I have left to say about this truck, One, I would definitely eat from this truck again. And I think you know what the second thing is… __________STALKER APPROVED____________

The color was a little bit pink and as opposed to red and the texture was a bit grainy but it was okay overall. With other trucks in the area I wouldn’t go back. I have had a lot of poke a and am super picky.

I had my first poke here and ordered the small Original Poke, no rice, with chili flakes for $ 10. Very fresh and tasty! A great value, as the«raw tuna breakfast» filled me up and gave me lots of protein to start the day. I saw the $ 1off special to leave a Unilocal message but decided not to take the discount because I don’t usually write on Unilocal. But because it was so good, I decided to write one anyway. The owner’s fiancé is from Hawaii, so I picked is brain about why many CA «Hawaiian» eateries under salt their side dishes. I left the place feeling hopeful that, once I make that Hawaii vacay, I’ll actually enjoy their authentic cuisine.

Super fast service, pretty tasty poke, reasonable prices considering how much quality raw fish costs. What stops me, though? The lack of variety. I commend them for focusing exclusively on one thing– ahi tuna– and doing it well, but there’s only so many ways to season it, and there just isn’t much else here. Some octopus or salmon or something would be wonderful. I want to give them four stars, but at the moment I just can’t quite swing it. My taste buds enjoy the food, but they seek more than what they can deliver…

This truck is at food truck alley in Santa Monica by my office. It took me a while to try it because like others, I didn’t think raw fish could be freshly served from a truck but oh, it can! I like to get the spicy poke over white rice with macadamia nuts, carrots, cucumbers and if I want to splurge then I add some avocado. All the veggie toppings are free so that’s pretty cool. And, they are super speedy. You’ll spend under $ 10 for fresh, healthy, delicious and filling food. Definitely worth it.

This truck has amazing poke! I’ll be honest, I was skeptical about poke from a food truck, but these guys have it down. I love the selection of free toppings too. Yes, FREE toppings! It’s definitely a healthier option when it comes to truck food eating, and I never get tired of their stuff. My favorite is the spicy poke with seaweed topping on brown rice. You can also get it on kale instead. This truck comes by my work often, and I’ll definitely be back for more!

Saw Poke 2 Go at First Friday’s on Abbot Kinney and there were a ton of people who looked interested in the place but had no idea what Poke was. The line here was short and the getting the food was equally as fast. The prices are about the same as other Poke places that I’ve been to and the main bowl sizes are equally as comparable. The Poke itself was average. The fish was fresh but it didn’t wow me like some of the other places that I’ve had. I wouldn’t order avacado from this truck tho since we only got 4 pieces.

Poke 2 Go has become a new staple at the west end of Food Truck Alley in Santa Monica. It does stand out as one of the healthier options in a sea of truffle fries and pork fusion. Getting raw fish at a truck, lets face it, is a leap of faith. To my surprise the fish is fresh and very good — much better than I expected and the flavors are great. They offer 2 sizes of their 4 poke options The OG, Spicy, Wasabi & Aloha(my current favorite). Small is quite small but packed tight @ $ 7 and the large is about twice the size @ $ 14(price goes up if you skip the rice). The small is pictured. I do find it leaves me hungry if i do not supplement this with something else. Each«bowl» can be tricked out with(mostly) free add-ons like brown rice, kale, seaweed, Macadamia Nuts, more spice etc. Overall I would give it 4 stars for a truck — They are fast, easy and nice. Food wise they fill void in the Alley & the poke is solid — I have been back several times and will return again as long as quality is consistent. For me the half star deduction is due to the the sizes /prices. The small is too small & the large option at $ 14 is just too expensive for a poke @ a truck. I want quality fish — but I want to see that $ 10 «Medium» offering. That is kind of my food truck lunch limit. Poke2Go: Really 3.5 stars(mostly deducted for awkward sizes/pricing) — but rounding up because I will return!
