Great tiny spot… My first time but owners seem to know everyone that walks away in. Everyone speaks French– very lovely Simple food… But great classic flavor. Delicious cup of coffee. And the sautéed potatoes are sooo good! Add them as a side!

I’ve really enjoyed the crepes every time I’ve gone here for brunch/lunch. Especially the petit buck which is the buckwheat crêpe filled with mozzarella cheese egg and your choice of meat or tomato. Absolutely delicious. The orange juice has a very different flavor to me almost tastes like a toned down mimosa lol and they say it’s just fresh squeezed OJ so not sure why it tastes like that but it’s very good. The French toast is one or two large pieces and you don’t get a ton but it’s probably the best French toast I’ve ever had. I also like the fruit crepes very filling just by itself. The fruit tastes super fresh. The atmosphere is fairly quiet and the food tastes hand made. The sautéed mushrooms are only fair to me but I know other people who enjoy them. Restaurant has a clean atmosphere and I believe the owner is the chef. Nice place to go for French breakfast or brunch.

This place is awesome. After coming here for the last few years it’s nobody’s fault but my own that I haven’t written the positive review that they so richly deserve. Everything about this restaurant is authentic. The Chef/Manger and his wife interact with you like they were old friends. The wine list is extremely reasonable and perfectly paired with what is hands down one of the best menus in the Venice area. Highly recommended and kid friendly as well.

Must have changed ownership. Went there a couple of days ago, the menu is the same. But it wasn’t the same. New waitress was very pleasant though with handicapped English. That was not a problem since we knew the menu. The three of us ordered a flounder filet, a filet of beef, and scallops, and a duck foie gras. Only the beef filet was really good, it had a nice wine sauce and mushrooms, and pink in the center of a thick sirloin. The flounder was too thin and the three scallops quite small. Also somewhat fishy, though the accompanying spinach bechamel was very good. The foie gras this time was real thin compared with what they had before, less than half the thickness. As a result the duck liver was literally flowing because it was uncooked. It simply was not possible to sear the outside with the center very soft. The chef came out of the kitchen to help serve the tables this time. I think that he is likely an owner of the establishment now. Don’t know if he was the cook before. The problems with the flounder, scallops and foie gras can be explained by cheaper ingredients. The boeuf here is still good, after all Americans love steak!

Very disappointing. On my first visit to this restaurant I ordered the beef bourguignon. What I got was an overpriced beef stew. There was not even a hint of wine in the preparation. To make matters worse, the food arrived like warm. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

Just had a wonderful dinner at Le Petit Bistro in Venice Florida. The food, music service and ambiance was– well — so French. It truly made me long for Paris. Recommend the Country Style Pâté and the Pork Medallions. Looking forward to the wine pairing in November.

This is our first choice in Venice. Don’t be surprised if the room is not full and the owner is your server. It’s a favorite with locals and it is seldom that you really get French cuisine. Try to come back as we have year after year

Made a special trip there from Sarasota to get a wonderful French lunch… what a waste of time. French onion soup was bland tasting and had the appearance of grayish wash water. My Perrier was served in a glass filled with ice. The Croque Monsieur was second rate. The server was accommodating and replaced the soup with a low quality Brie. I would give it a one star for lunch. Won’t try it for supper. No axe to grind, just the facts.

My star criteria are 1 — go hungry, 2 — edible, 3 — satisfactory, 4 — I want to go back, and 5 — you need to eat here We had a fine meal here. My fish was tasty, but her scallops on puréed spinach was excellent. Try a glass of the house wine: it’s «Mars & Venus» — the Sauvignon blanc is what we had and liked. The service was prompt and not intrusive, but we did have to ask for bread. The chef/owner came out to make sure things were going right, and since business was slow, was happy to explain to me how he made the carrot mousse. This is a good place for a pre– or post-theatre meal; the Venice theatre is right across the street. Plenty of free parking in the city lot.

This is a difficult review to write because I wanted to love this place but was disappointed. However, my husband had an outstanding meal rack of lamb. The rack of lamb came with a spinach side dish that was quite unusual and good. I, however, had duck with mushrooms. I was served a very small duck leg, with not much taste and the mushrooms were missing. My meal came with potatoes, but no vegetable, which surprised me. When I said something to the waiter, the chef apologized and said that an apprentice had done my dish and then they took $ 3 off the price of my meal on the bill. Since my husband liked it so much, we will try it again and i will order something different.

We had the classic Panini and fruit crêpe, both were excellent. It’s an authentic French bistro where the chef is French and only speaks a few words of English. Everything on the menu looks delicious, try it, you’ll like it.

Outstanding French bistro worth visiting. Cod in lobster sauce excellent. Authentic French cuisine and reasonably priced for both food and wine. Highly recommend. And the creeps Suzette for desert were to die for.

Very much like meals we have had in France only with much better service! Great baguette sandwiches, croque Madame, onion soup! We also went there for Sunday Breakfast and loved the crepes, toast, and croissants. Lastly, we’ve attended several of their wine pairing dinners and found them all to be excellent!

Eric & Giselle were very welcoming. This is an authentic FRENCH café in a town full of Italian eateries. Very pleasant, tiny spot on the corner of Tampa and Nokomis in Venice across from the Venice Little Theater. Dinner reservations a MUST in season, but not at all crowded off-season. Breakfast: Crepes, croissants, and coffee. Dinner: Escargots and Beef Bourguignon. Excellent!

This is a charming restaurant my husband and I went to twice while in Venice for a week on vacation. We had the crepes once which were rich and satisfying. We had two entrees the other time which were also excellent and well priced. This is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

A wonderful place, with charming staff. The food here is legitimately French. Not to be mistaken with the French«themed» restaurant that was located in the same spot prior. The good news: Authentic food created the owner/chef Delightful ambiance within its quint walls Breakfast and lunch served on same menu until 2:00. Then a dinner menu with amazing sauces. The Bad news: It is a small venue so seating is limited. Sunday is chaos due to the church crowd hitting simultaneously. Worth the visit, I give it a thumbs up across the board.
