had dinner with my son. place is small, cozy and décor reminds me of an italian grandmothers dining room. my son had the catch of the day, which was delicious atlantic cod in a wine sauce w/capers. i had mushroom pizza and it was by far the best mushroom pizza i have ever had! From the crust to the homemade mozzerela. the staff was super friendly and service was great! ended up going back a few days later to get another mushroom pizza, but this time with garlic and roasted red peppers… I’m in LOVE!

Delicious food, perfect service! I chose Trattoria da Mino over others based on the online food pics — no artsy ingredient combinations and the menu looked like the food I’d eaten in Italy with locals and in restaurants. We were a party of two looking for a light lunch — my friend had the minestrone(excellent) and I had the soup of the day — chickpea soup. Chickpeas and minced onion in a delicate flavorful homemade broth. YUM! We shared the Italiano Mix antipasti that came with fresh homemade melt-in-your-mouth mozzarella. Two other tables were enjoying(and raving about) the pizza and salads. Looking forward to trying their main courses next time I’m here. Highly recommend this place!

This is on a stretch of street with 3 or 4 Italian restaurants, all more crowded than Trattoria Da Mino. Big mistake; the food here is exceptional. We travel to Italy frequently, and this is the first Italian restaurant in the US that really got us excited. I had the Rigatoni con Imbraciole, and it was amazing; my wife had the special ravioli and pronounced it as good as anything she had in Italy. If you want the fancy looking, gimmicky dishes that Italian restaurants here seem to favor, go down the block; if you want superb rustic Italian fare, you can’t do better than this without a long airline flight and a passport.

This is a typical Italian trattoria — basically a road-side restaurant. Limited menu but great food. I LOVE eggplant parmigiana. This is probably my favorite — can’t remember better. Pizza is also great. Not much seating but they’re new. Have expanded once… really! Maybe they will do it again soon.

Had a take out order. Asked if the kids pasta portion was enough for a five year old. She said plenty. So to play it safe I also ordered an adult portion. Both kids and adult portions were very small. You know it’s small when the penne can’t even fill the bottom of the aluminum container. The adult portion should really be called kids size. My wife’s eggplant Parma was more an appetizer size. My linguini and clams were small as well. I had to eat more bread to fill up. For the cost I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Disappointing.

New to the area, when we walked in we didn’t expect much. Small square room, minimal décor, etc. But it got good. Salad and soup were quite good. The spaghetti alla sorrentina was very good, and the pappardelle truffel oil was to die for. I cleaned that off and got more bread to get all the left over oil. The wait staff worked very well together. They each worked all the tables with the more senior taking the orders. Highly recommend. Oh, the price was quite reasonable.

It’s too bad I don’t always get to review the places I have recommended before, and as you can see from my last review, I have not been back since October… Shame on me!!! I was starving when I walked in, and right away got taken care of by the friendliest face you can imagine. Her name was Kat, and she could not do enough to please. I ordered the Lentil Soup, then the EGGPLANTPARMIGIANA, both as good as it gets!!! The place has expanded since I was last here, and luckily the food and service are as awesome as ever! HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!!

We randomly ended up here because the other Italian restaurants on Venice Ave close between 3pm and 5pm daily. It was definitely a stroke of luck because everything was fantastic. The starter bread and tomatoes were tasty, we ordered a sausage roll for an appetizer, it tasted great and was served with a plentiful bowl of delicious tomato sauce. The pasta fagiole was the best part of my meal. They should sell the soup priced to go in quarts. I would highly recommend the rigatoni imbraciole entrée, you will eat every bite. We had such a pleasing experience we took a large pizza to go. Oh and I almost forgot to add something very important, the red wine they serve by the glass is excellent, definitely a crowd pleaser if you like red wine.

Best pizza and Italian food in the area!!! The Soups are great along with cheese and pepperoni pizza. We miss the pizza back in NY but this is pretty good. I like my pepperoni cut thicker and filled with the oil after baking. The lasagna and the bolognese dish were also outstanding. Having the owners on site makes a big difference. The service and friendliness were gr8!!!

One of the best places in Venice. We got pizza and it tasted amazing! We ordered canolis to go and I’m sure they are amazing as everything else. To top it off the service was fantastic! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We came for dinner at 6:30 pm on a Thursday. The place was closed(employees were inside but closed sign was literally swinging when we walked up). We initially walked right past the place. We instead went down the street to Cassariano Italian Eatery which was open and full of diners. When we walked back to our car, the place seemed to be open again which was a little annoying.

The guys at the restaurant were really nice. That said, maybe we didn’t order well, but this was one of the worst Italian meals that I have ever eaten. We got the lasagne and the sausage pizza. I’m guessing the lasagne was filled with bechamel, but it was the consistency of mashed potatoes. It was really nasty. It was small for $ 14, but that was a blessing. The sausage pizza was bland and the crust was somewhere between the typical original crust and deep dish. The sausage was sparse and not very flavorful. I don’t get the Unilocal love for this place, but there are easily 5 better Italian places in Venice. For Italian better bets are Made in Italy, Cassariano, or(if you like good food but spotty service) Luna’s.

We got takeout pizza because we weren’t aware they had seating for 8 – 10 people in the whole restaurant. Even in September you needed an evening reservation. The owner(I presume) was apologetic and gave us a menu. The next day we ordered chicken Cesar salad and a naughty lady pizza. It’s the number one signature pizza. We added mushrooms and pepperoni. It was phenomenal! The crust is homemade. The pizza was hot and ingredients were fresh. You could tell the quality of the mozzarella and pepperoni were superior. My only con to this place was we called to ask about the pizza and a woman answered who was not friendly. Blake, the waitress, and both men I encountered at the restaurant made me forget about the witch on the phone. If you’re closed don’t answer the phone?

Passing through Venice looking for an Italian restaurant and came upon Trattoria de Mino. Stop searching and come here. Really. Stop the car, turn around, and go. We had the minestrone soup, potato and lentil soup, pappardelle alla bolognese and the seafood linguine special. Absolutely delicious. Staff are so friendly and the chef is from Italy. It gets no better for authenticity. House red was delicious. Small place… Only a few tables in and out. Small menu but everything was done well. Extensive pizza menu however. We are meals but the people across from us raved about the pie. arrivederci!

I LOVETHISPLACE! The home made bread, which THANKGOD is vegan, and olive oil w/organic tomatoes was incredible. The very best I have ever had. I had a delicious fresh salad that they let me switch up a few ingredients to make it vegan. They were very accomodating. My husband had a salad, soup, and a panini, also made with homemade bread. He said it was the perfect meal, a 10 out of 10. Their soups are also homemade, vegan and delicious. The owner, who really knows how to cook and bake, makes everything with the freshest, organic ingredients. He and his staff are very friendly and professional, with great personalities. The owner is a sweetheart and sent me home with a loaf of bread. We would go back again tomorrow, but they are closed on Sundays. We will definitely be going back very soon and HIGHLY recommend you try this place. Cute, quaint, affordable, and delicious!

On a rainy day in Venice, Florida We decided to search for a local restaurant. We wanted something quick but would last through the current weather. Jumping onto Unilocal, and doing a quick search of local pizza shops we found one that had opened in the last year. After looking into the menu I found what we needed. We ordered the standard medium cheese/pepperoni. Once arriving to pick up the pizza as the only delivery option had us buying way more then we needed for two people($ 20 or more) we were greeted by the owner at the door who was also the chef! The small local owed establishment had great décor and smelt amazing like a pizza shop in NY or Italy. After having a quick chat we ran home to get into this beautiful smelling pizza. The dough was pressed nice and thin and the sauce was perfect. The cheese and pepperoni reminded me of a shop I use to visit when i lived in the north east. Over all the pizza was great and I will order again next time we are in town. We just only wished we ordered a bigger pizza!!!

Wow-this pizza was great!!! My grandma and I got a medium veggie specialty pizza to go. We took it home and made a salad to go with it and it was the perfect size for the two of us. This is definitely gourmet pizza! Both of us loved it and both of us gave it 5 stars. The owner was super friendly as well and very Italian-always a good sign for an Italian place. :)

Amazing place! If you’ve ever been to Italy and you miss the small family owned restaurants… This is your place. The owners Luigi and Sophia are so warm and genuine, as is their son Marco! The food is wonderful and fresh. No frozen crap here! Service is excellent. In the past going to an Italian restaurant meant getting a plate of under seasoned, out of a can, garbage. This place is the real deal. If you go to dinner at this place and don’t like it… You have no idea what good food tastes like. What we ordered… Caprese salad, seafood linguini, eggplant parmesan, kids penne and tomatoes and chicken for my youngest. And of course wine! If I could give more that 5stars I would!!! Excellent! We will indeed be back!

My wife and I ate here tonight for the first time and were super impressed. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza was huge! I can’t wait to try all the other authentic items listed on the menu. If you live in Venice you know there are a lot of pizza places to choose from. We just found our favorite! Also much more reasonable then all the other guys. Very happy to have found this place.
