Toys R Us has been a part of my childhood and continues to impress with their vast selection. Some things are bit spendier but the customer service goes the extra distance.

Customer service here is horrible. People are rude and lazy. They tell you they have something in stock then when you get there they don’t have it. Better skills at Walmart… what does that tell you?

Like all TRU stores, it can be a little spendy, but their service is good and they have a good selection. Not everything in their store is expensive, either. Last night, we bought an Imaginarium train table with a huge train set for $ 99 which is what it would have cost anywhere it is available online before shipping. I’d have given them 5 stars, but they don’t carry the little button batteries that so many toys take these days, including the train set we bought last night, and I find that absurd. They sell the toys that take them, they should certainly sell the batteries, too. It’s not like they are uncommon – they can be had in 50 packs on Amazon for less than $ 10.

It’s a place to test toys out and then go online and get them for way less. I used the scanner app for iPhone on this toy we wanted to get, and it showed it online for about $ 30 cheaper. Customer service was pretty good about asking if we needed any help finding anything though. Just get your toys online if you don’t want to be ripped off.
