Just witness an employee(may be the owner), Tom, be extremely rude to at least 8 different customers. Sighing, rolling his eyes, overall just being plain rude and nasty to his customers. Yogurt was good, as usual, but this employee would definitely make me reconsider coming back here again! Rude!

The experience here just doesn’t measure up to competitors like Pinkberry and Red Mango, but the taste of the yogurt is a win. PLUSES: Great, unique selection of yogurt flavors, most flavors are created by freshly blending fruits into plain yogurt, healthy options. MINUSES: Poor service, frequently out of advertised toppings, can’t sample flavors, prices are high.

Vanilla with Chocolate curls. Mmmmm. Taste so much better than those self serve joints. The yogurt hear actually has flavor and not just sweet. Quite good even with no toppings.

Favorite froyo place in Rochester. With Rochester not having that much selection, that’s not saying much. But whenever I have a craving, I usually find myself in Eastview Mall and this place hits the spot. However, I’m more of a fan of their soft serve tart froyo. If you get one with mix-ins, they use a vanilla based yogurt and those are usually too sweet. However, the tart and acai twist froyo I got the other day from the machine was delicious! Definitely a treat after a hard day of shopping.

LOVELOVELOVE the strawberry/banana sugar/fat free frozen yogurt. A large is huge and only 150 cals. The lines get long, the staff is rude/annoyed by your very presence and it is overpriced no doubt but I love it so I return.

After being exposed to the emerging tart froyo movement that’s been occurring in Boston over the last few years, I really really wanted to hate Yogen Fruz and give it a one-star review. I hated the idea of a large Canadian corporation being the first to introduce frozen yogurt to the Rochester area. Why couldn’t an independent, or seemingly independent business, like BerryLine, [Pinkberry], or [Red Mango] open a shop on Park Ave or in the South Wedge? I guess this would have to do. The yogurt here is a little different than the yogurt I was accustomed to at BerryLine in Cambridge, Mass. First, instead of a selection of three seasonal flavors, you can either order a plain, slightly tart version of froyo, or you can select from a multitude of ingredients, which they will then whip it up in a special machine that makes a homogeneous mixture out of yogurt and ingredient you choose. Examples of yogurt flavors include pumpkin, espresso, various fruits, and chocolate. You then ask for toppings, which are somewhat limited compared to some of the more awesome froyo shops in larger cities, but not bad for a food establishment located in a mall. The fruit toppings are previously frozen more often than not, but if you’re lucky, you might be able to find some fresh strawberries. The service ranges from fair to horrible and the workers are usually high school students who aren’t very invested in their jobs. I’ve found that the non-high schoolers working here care a little bit more, but not by much. The last time I went to Yogen Fruz, I got a pumpkin frozen yogurt with oreos and graham cracker crumbles. The combination was pretty solid and I was proud of myself for ordering it. My girlfriend, a froyo purist, ordered a plain with strawberries and chocolate curls. The $ 9+ we paid for two mediums was a lot, considering we could have gotten two GIANT, delicious froyos with three screamingly toppings at BerryLine for less, but the end product was satisfactory. In summary, I guess I would compare a froyo at Yogen Fruz to masturbating: It’s better than nothing, but if you’ve ever had the real thing, you might feel slightly ashamed of yourself afterward.
