Murdick’s Fudge

Horrible horrible customer service… ordered 2 chrismases in a row and fudge was sent out right away without reading the delivery instructions. will never order again… done with horrible service.

I don’t normally like fudge, but Murdick’s Fudge is to die for! It’s got this sweet, dry, crispy creaminess to it that no other fudge that I’ve tasted has. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and have taken many friends here whenever I go back and they all say the same thing — «not a fudge person, but Murdick’s is amazing.» every time we go to the Vineyard, they all want to make sure to stop by Murdick’s. Yes, it’s that good.

I’m not a big fan of fudge but hey, I’m on vacation, must try something local. And the store looks really promising. The nice thing is that they offer samples (I think based on availability of flavors though) cuz you don’t want to buy an entire piece and not like it. You can also buy them in half pieces, which we did. And it’s quite a treat to watch the staff make the fudge. We got the rocky road and the double chocolate, and walked across the street for some coffee. I liked it, didn’t love it, it was a little salty. But yeah, got to try Murdick’s when you visit Martha’s Vineyard.

Ok so I know it is the shoulder season but fudge should not be sold that stale… Nevermind that salty (I love salt and have been know to sprinkle it on my tounge). The fudge I got at Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium was much much better.

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. I’m not crazy about fudge but was looking for something sweet after walking around Oak Bluffs and decided to stop in Murdicks. I ended up getting ½ a bar of butter pecan and ½ choc PB. The butter pecan was super sweet and tasted like I was eating a spoonful of sugar while the choc PB was pretty good. The woman behing the counter acted like she hated her job which made the experience worse. If I’m spending $ 10 for 2 pieces of fudge you could at least say thank you and have a nice day! I should’ve spent the $$$ down the street at Ben & Bills where the service is great!

If you’re in MV, you can’t miss Murdick’s Fudge. The fudge comes in several flavors, the Chocolate ones being my favorites. We went to the one in Oak Bluffs and I believe they have one in Vineyard Haven as well (close to the dock). The staff at the store was really friendly and we were encouraged to see how the fudge was made. It was fun! The kids at the store insisted that we taste the freshly-​made fudge and boy, was it yummy! Mmmmm. We got a bunch for us as well as a few of our friends. It’s sitting in my refrigerator right now, waiting for me to come home and devour it: D

If you like fudge, it is more than worth the wait in line and cost!

every time we come here i bring back fudge to all the marley heads. it be came a tradition. murdick’s holds the title for fudge.

Best. Fudge. Ever.
I’ve had a lot of fudge in my day (that’s what he said!), and Murdick’s wins hands down every single time. No joke, I dream about this stuff. Their vanilla fudge is probably my most favorite dessert/​sweet ever in the history of my 25 years alive (translation: you NEED to try this stuff).
All the locations are equally as good IMO (and smell a-​m-​a-​z-​i-​n-​g), I just happen to choose this one to review as it’s closest to where I stay.
Downside: they close for the winter on December 15 (time to stock up!)

Still the best fudge. In fact every Murdick’s transactions takes place as follows:
Me: How much should we get?
Wife: One piece:
Me: (to Murdick’s staff) I’ll take two pieces. One peanut butter chocolate and one chocolate.
Murdick’s: We have a deal and its cheaper to get a full pound.
Me: Sure. I ‘ll have peanut butter and more chocolate peanut butter.
I then proceed to eat and finish the fudge before making it up island.

The smell inside this little fudge shop is worth the visit alone. Murdick’s Fudge has shops all over the island, and it’s a definite favorite with the tourists. You can buy ½ or full slices of fudge in different flavors, including: Cape Cod Cranberry, Rocky Road, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Penuche (maple syrup with walnuts), Chocolate Walnut, Vanilla, and more. Boxes can be purchased with 3 or 5 slices, and you can ship anywhere across the country. They also sell cashew and peanut brittle, popcorn (caramel, butter, and cheddar) & taffy at the Oak Bluffs location, and chocolates (turtles, etc.) at the Edgartown location. The fudge is not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s pretty good & a nice treat if you’re sick of all the ice cream (although, really, how can you be? I get both).

I’m not exactly a fudge fanatic or anything, but I was walking by Murdick’s and the smell lured me in. I think Murdick’s fudge is super yummy. I enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter flavor, but thought that it would be better with a little more peanut butter. I wish you could order it in smaller amounts… smallest quantity you could get is half a slice and it costs approx $ 5. Not sure if that’s expensive for fudge since it’s not something I normally go for, but just thought I’d offer it as a bit of information.

Best fudge ever. I don’t think I’ll ever find any I like better. After leaving MA, I ordered some online — reasonable and fast shipping.

Get some while waiting in line for the ferry so you have a little of MV to bring home! :)

Try the double chocolate fudge… just a bit satisfies even the sweetest tooth. For about 10 min. And then you’re slicing and dicing away and before you know it, the entire 1 lb brick is gone! –_​_​–
I wouldn’t say its the best I’ve tasted but it sure hits the spot.
