Foods are all appetizers in size with dinner prices! It’s was alright but I would not recommend unless you get drunk and don’t care what kind of food you eat! Place is good to have fun with your friends but for eating purposes go somewhere else!

We went here for lunch, trying out new restaurants in the area, with co workers from other agencies. The place was pretty empty but that can be expected since it’s a Karaōke bar and most people may come at night. The server was very attentive and funny! The food took a little long to come out, since it was lunch time, but the it was delicious! We ordered the plain Jane fried rice and added fried egg and veggies! It was a great size portion for a great price! We will definitely go back and enjoy the food, the drinks, and karaōke!

For months now I’ve been seeing Amplitude on Groupon and I’ve been dying to come here since. I am a karaōke junkie and I am quick to grab a mic. Earlier this week a friend of mine told me she was getting a room at Amplitude that can fit 20 ppl and I was praying I was off from work because I really wanted to go. The room was reserved from 8pm-11pm and I showed up around 8:35. When I entered the place the woman at the front greeted me and I told her the party I was attending and she gave me a ticket and told me the room to go to. On my way to the room there is a lobby area with tables for people to sit and dine and a stage for people who sign up for karaōke. There are TVs all around that shows the lyrics to the songs so you can sing along. The people in that area were singing the night away and dancing, I was low key jealous I wasn’t in that area lol. The private room was dope! The strobe lights made me feel like I was in concert. The machine to choose the songs from was very easy to use and the selection of songs were awesome! Everyone in the room was also choosing great songs and we had 3 mics in the room so that we can participate. The employee who was in charge of our room was constantly making sure our food and drinks were ordered and it took no time for those dishes to be prepared. The time went by so fast! For $ 7 an hour it was definitely worth it and I can definitely see myself doing this again soon! Great place! #KaraokeLife

Amplitude Karaōke is the sing-a-long with your friends destination that warrants your time on a Friday night, after work, or for any party gathering. The song selection is immense! Everything from David Bowie, Jay-Z, Afroman, to K-Pop is available to choose from for your performing curiosity. This place also has several rooms you can reserve for your party if you want something private and don’t feel your vocals are up to snuff to share with the bar crowd. Be warned tho, get your selection in early! On a Friday night for a friend’s birthday I had to wait 4 hours before my song finally came up at after 1AM(and that was after he asked one of the employees to bump the song up in the queue). The food has a Korean theme to it and I ordered the steamed pork buns and the calamari. Both were ok although I was hoping for more meat inside the 3 fluffy buns for $ 9. As for the calamari it was crunchy all the way through and did not have that soft texture on the inside like good fried calamari has. The wasabi aioli dipping sauce was surprisingly tame and did not require constant sips of water to dial down the heat. It was a good mix of performers with good singing voices and those that chose selections the whole crowd could sing along with the entire night. Definitely some good entertainment and a nice place to wind down after a long day. «Give It To Me»(I’m a Hustler) Jay-Z

What a great venue! We came here on a Thursday night. It wasn’t super crowded so we got a table quite easily. It was nice to have the option to get a private room or have a table or seat at the bar. Next time I hope to try out a room for a small outing. But tonight we sat at a table. Our server Victor was very good — nice and attentive! For drinks I had the Asian pear martini, which was a little less sweet than I expected. It was still very delicious, and I loved eating the martini-soaked pear slice garnish at the end! Even more delicious was the sparkling house wine. It was so sweet and crisp. It tasted like honey! My underage sister had a virgin strawberry daiquiri and was quite pleased with it. Next time I hope to try the Lychee martini, as well as some of the food. The karaōke was a pretty nice set-up. There was a raised platform were you could be in the spotlight, but we were glad to know you could sing at your seat. The available song choices were pretty standard, mostly contemporary. Our first song got messed up at the beginning but the staff was apologetic and worked quickly to set things straight. One server was so sweet and asked my friend to sing a duet with him. I was very impressed with the hospitality of the staff, and I can’t wait to come back! I had a great time :)

*MICCHECK1,21,2* This is THE place to exercise your vocal cords, belt out some tunes… or spit a few bars(yes, rap songs are included in their song database). If you’re a little timid, grab some liquid courage at the open bar area, or book a private lounge w/dine-in service! For large groups it is highly recommended to book a karaōke room. You will get charged on a per person/per hour basis. The rooms are very accommodating w/plenty of cushioned lounge seating, flat screen tv’s, surround sound system, mics, tablet song selection, and disco lighting! The songs date back to The Beatles to current day Justin Bieber and Drake. There is a selection for all genres and age groups featured in many languages including: Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, and Tagalog. The database is updated once a month as stated on their website. The menu is Asian fusion themed! Unfortunately, I did not try their food on my first visit but I am l looking forward to trying some selections on my next and will update accordingly. I will definitely come back for an encore, Amplitude Karaōke!

Past that MIC!!! Who doesn’t love to sing and drink?! LOVELOVELOVE karaōke! The place was poppin’ Saturday night and everyone was having a great time, so the dining area was filled. So we got our own private room(hourly pay), we sang our hearts out, that the next day our voices were sore. The private rooms had disco lights and extra special lighting. They have a good amount of seating: bench seating and small portable tufted ottomans. They have a button that you push when you need the waitress/waitor. They should address you that in the beginning. They have a good amount of updated songs that you can sing, they store everything on a tablet, so you pick and choose. The Garlic Soy chicken wing appetizer was so Delicious and very crispy(*almost up to Bonchons level), it serves 5 on a plate for $ 10. I recommend this highly!!! My overall experience was phenomenol! SING, EAT, &DRINK!!! I’m definitely coming back!

Pump up the volume Whenever I visit the motherstate, my high school friends and I make a trip to amplitude and rent a room for some karaōke. The rooms have a nice setup, a decent size, and the rooms a very clean. Also, there is a decent size bar area where you can sing and drink if you do not want to do the private room option. Amplitude has a wide selection of songs(even songs en español, which is always a fun treat). The remote control in the private rooms can be a little confusing to use. Most of the songs are accompanied with their corresponding music videos(instead of cheesy stock footage), which is always a treat. I rather a dark background with only the lyrics than viewing the cheesy, random footage. The service is pretty standard in the private rooms, depending on your server. Sometimes they come really fast and sometimes you may have to find them in the bar area to order a drink. The prices for food and drink are pretty reasonable. However, I may be a little biased because I am basing the prices on New York City prices. If you karaōke is your thing, then this place is for you.

I am a huge karaōke fan and this place is perfect. I visited around 5pm on a Saturday and the bar portion was empty and only one of the rooms were occupied. I would never have known that a large group of people were in the other room until one of the staff opened the door. For those that get stage fright, that is perfect for you. I dont know what kind of insulation they use, but its nearly 100% sound proof. Since the bar was empty the group I went with opted to stay in that area, and sing out in the open. We had full access to singing with no interruption and didn’t have to pay a fee to do it. For the food, I had a small sampling of a few items. The Kimchee Fries are perfection and the wings were a good balance of krispy skin and tender meat. Definitely a fun place to visit.

I didn’t even know I loved karaōke until going to this place!!! I’m addicted. The bartender Mike is super awesome and always caters to my ambiguous orders… like, «Idk, something peachy!» They’ve switched over to the power hour option instead of happy hour, so get those drink orders in from 17:00 to 18:00! I always have a blast here, and interacting with strangers is so easy. The environment is fun! New friends, great drinks, good snacks, and an awesome song list! Perhaps the technology is a bit complicated but once you get the hang of things, choosing songs and making the playlist is easy~(as well as toggling the vocals on and off.) Don’t come here shy! Be open and have fun and never hesitate to ask someone if they would like to share the mic and sing the song with you,(;

While my bestie from hanabattah days was visiting, we had a girls night out, on a Tuesday! After dinner, we made our way over to Amplitude for some Karaōke. It was not busy, so instead of getting a room, we stayed in the lounge area. We ordered some grapefruit sake and let the songs flow! We had so much fun. We love this place and the people who work here are awesome sauce.

Enjoyed this little gem! This is the first karaōke joint I’ve been to in Norfolk and it was a pleasant experience. We came here after dinner so we didn’t order much food, therefore, I can’t comment too much on it. We had the beef tacos and the kimchi fries, both were decent but nothing to go crazy over. The sound system was so-so, however, I really liked their controller and the song selections. There were tons of genre to choose from including Vietnamese, and a lot of updated top hits as well. Overall, we had a blast here and for the price of $ 6/per person/per hour, it was not bad at all. Next time I’m in town, I will definitely return !

This place is great!!! Came here for a bday party and between the service and the experience it was awesome! The private rooms are the money maker! We reserved the room for 8 people for two hours which equates to $ 7 per person per hour. We order a couple drinks and food and it was so-so nothing spectacular but got the job done. If your the nervous type and will like to have your own karaōke party this is the place for you! I will be back!!! Pro: service, experience, ambiance Cons: food, some of the drinks

Party People! !!! Ooooou… I love it here! A few nights ago, I came here for an event and I didn’t know what to expect. But If Karoke, food, and drinks are on the scene then a good time awaits. But noooooo it was an AWESOMENIGHT!!! I loved everything about tonight !!! Awesomeness from the time I hit the door! Well let the event begin! !! The event was pretty much held in the main area. But as more people started to fill the place, some people moved to one of the larger party rooms. So yeah there are party rooms in which you can host your own private event away from the crowd. TV’S are present in each room and they play the videos for karaōke. Not sure if you can watch TV with the Karoke going on. Nevertheless, the set up is nice. But the food super yummy and drinks I sampled refreshing ! ! Crispy Korean Wings(soy garlic) _these wings were just ok. If I had a choice I more than likely would hv ordered a different flavor. Nevertheless, the initial bite of the wing it was packed with flavor but then that was it. Lumpia _now these were Goooood! !! I’m not sure of the contents, but I’d come back here just for these things. Kimchee Fries _ummmm bomb!!! I shared these with two others and either they didn’t care for them or I was just being a hog. But all I know is I finished them off. Good choice! ! Short rib grilled cheese _this was good. Not a fan, but they aren’t bad at all. Icing(refreshing saki drink) _oooooou yessss! It was super chilled and refreshing. This is sold in a can or take it as a shot. I’d order this again and again! It taste like it’s almost healthy… idk, I just know it was so good! I enjoyed all the food and drinks tonight… bomb!!! My fav, the lumpia and saki! Yeah I’m coming back! Drinks and Karoke make a great night! !! A lot of people participated and that made the night even livelier especially when everyone warmed up :) Yall Rock and we got Karoke’d away = AMP’D!

This place is amazing! I first noticed Amplitude Karaōke on Unilocal months ago. I was intrigued by the private rooms they have to offer. As a lover of all movies and TV shows Korean and Japanese, I had always seen teenagers hanging out at these cool karaōke spots, goofing off, singing, dancing, etc. I’d been talking about visiting for months before I finally got around to it a couple of weeks ago. We went at around 8:00 on a weeknight and it was pretty empty minus people at the bar. I was nervous about driving there because I assumed I’d have to park in a garage(and you all know how much I hate parking garages), but I was pleased to see that it’s located on the same strip as Michael’s and Big K, so there’s a nice, open parking lot. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by a woman working at the front counter near the prices. We asked how much it was going to cost for a room and she told us it was $ 6 per hour(per person). She asked if we were ready to get a room, but we decided against it because we weren’t sure where the other guests were(and the host). We walked into the dining area and another employee greeted us, asking if we were going to be eating, getting a room, etc. We were a little confused because no one else was there yet, so we told her we’d just chill in the main dining area for a bit. She told us we could sit wherever we liked, and she went to help guests who were actually in the private karaōke rooms. The main dining area was smaller than I imagined it to be. Also, I noticed that the rooms vary in size. I saw some smaller ones, and a huge one over in the corner(towards the back of the restaurant and the small stage they have). We sat down and looked at the menu, and my friend ordered a few drinks and water. He also asked about prices. She said she was going to ask. She came back and answered our questions, took our orders, and we sat watching the people at the bar belt out a couple of songs. The drinks were made quickly and were delicious. It wasn’t long before the host of our party arrived with some other people. We still weren’t sure if we were going to get a room because we only had four people, so my friend ordered some shots for us to enjoy while we waited. We drank, some of our guests ordered food, and sang along with the other customers there(without mics). To our surprise, they walked over to us and let us sing with them. We went up to the stage and sang some song I can’t even remember the name of. At first we were a little confused because we didn’t know if the people at the bar had paid to sing there, or if it was just free for everyone to request songs. One of the people with us ended up asking, and we were given a tablet with the list of songs that they have available. I thought this was pretty neat. I’ve only been to one other karaōke bar(Wanna B’s), and they have these huge notebooks to sift through. It’s not too much of a hassle since it’s in alphabetical order, but I can appreciate Amplitude simplifying it even more. We started requesting our own songs after that. The request sheets are readily available on each table, along with pencils to fill them out. Pretty soon, a few more people met us, but we were having so much fun that we didn’t even bother to get a room. We didn’t mind waiting for other peoples’ songs to play and finish, so we figured we’d just stay out there and continue rockin’ out. I like the fact that it’s free to sing in the main area if you don’t mind waiting. If waiting is an issue(or if you’re shy), I think it’s recommended that you get a private room to speed up the process. It was getting late(around 10:00 or so – I’m an old lady), and I wanted some food, so I asked the bartender if the kitchen was still open. She said it was. I told her that I wanted some Bön Chon wings with ranch. I asked her if they had ranch to serve with them and she said she thought so but she wasn’t 100% sure, so she went to check on that and put my order in. Oh yeah, I wanted them on my cousin’s tab, so I made sure I told her that. The wings took about 20 to 30 minutes max. to come out(I’m not sure exactly because I was having so much fun), but they were very hot. I didn’t get any ranch, but a few minutes later, the bartender brought some out. I was glad, because I couldn’t imagine eating them with no sauce at all. They tasted fine, like any other fried wings, but they needed something extra. We stayed for another hour or so, and then prepared to head out because I had work in the morning. The checks were evenly distributed, we paid, and we were on our way. The musical selection was pretty widespread: country, R&B, hip hop/rap, etc. My favorite, by far, was when I requested Mariah Carey’s «All I Want for Christmas Is You.» Everyone joined in to hit those notes. This place is awesome and the staff is pretty cool and helpful. I look forward to visiting again, actually getting a room, and trying more of the food!

Great food, Great Atmosphere! I was brought here for another birthday celebration and was actually surprised, most«bars» don’t have the best food but this place does along with great karaōke! I was brought here on a night it wasn’t too busy, we just sat at the table and sang our hearts out.(I probably ruined someone’s ears) We ordered the Kimchee Fries, Kimchee Rice, Pork Buns and«Bonchon» wings. All perfect and most under the happy hour that ends around 7. The owner didn’t have birthday cake but she came over with some ice cream and a cookie for my birthday! That was super thoughtful! My friend and I are already contemplating coming back and getting a room(so no one hates us) to drink, be merry, and belt out our songs.

The exterior was a little unassuming. First of all, I’ve never been to a karaōke bar in Virginia Beach, which I actually thought were pretty obsolete, so I was a little apprehensive going to one. Going in, I was greeted by a very a nice lady who led to me to the room where my party was. Boy, did I judge the outside wrong! The interior was magnificent. Modern. Fresh. And spacious. The room we had was a decent size, that fit around 10 – 15 people. The karaōke machine was pretty updated, but you can tell it was a foreign device because of all the Chinese songs in it. THEFOOD. Their dishes were Asian-fused and had a really wide selection. I got the short rib tacos, pork belly buns, and kimchee fries. Man. They were yummy!!! They also have a happy hour menu, which to me, wasn’t that impressive in terms of price because the items were only a few dollars off(the pork belly buns were only $ 1.50 off), but a discount is a discount. Ordered a Blue Motorcycle and it was pretty good. Also ordered a Soju Mule, but ended up returning the drink because it tasted awful. Overall, I may not return to sing, but I will definitely come back for the food!

If you are too shy to sing in front of crowds, GET A ROOM. No, really; you can get a private room here! Pretty cool, right? While selecting songs on a tablet is neat, it’s really not the easiest system. A server shows you how to operate the karaōke program really quickly and then you’re supposed to have at it. There’s a couple of pencils and some strips of paper so you can write down whatever song you’ve chosen, then give it to the bartender.(It is a different protocol for private rooms.) The tablet has a massive collection, and that is half the battle. Because there are so many songs, the tablet searches for a really, really long time. There is some trick to getting to your song or artist; I just don’t know it yet. There are some selections that are the music videos, and that’s bad because where the video has dialogue or something, you clearly have to stop singing. I promise, no one wants this version. That aspect is only cool for when no one is singing… for when you’re just eating and enjoying the in-between songs; now you can watch the video. Otherwise, karaōke should probably just be the lyrics on the screen, in my opinion. They are still trying to work out the kinks of the order and the frequency of people/tables, and the obscenities in the songs. Songs have the N-word and the B-word on blast. First visit, they didn’t care/notice.(I don’t know how!) Second visit, they straight cut off the song in the middle and explained why. They recommend getting a private room if you want to sing about a person owing you money.(Hi, Rihanna.) And onto the food… It’s everything deliciously Asian fusion. I loved the kimchee fries. They were topped with Bulgogi, but there was entirely too much Sriracha for my tastebuds. The Chinese sausage fried rice was all right with me. And the bon chon wings were like regular tasty wings. I didn’t pick up on any strong Asian flavors. The menu is great, though. And they have a good drink list, which is worth mentioning since some people need to be inebriated to sing in front of crowds. I do not :)

At first I didn’t know about going to a karaōke bar, but this place is a really fun time after having a drink and loosening up a little. There is a major song selection here it will literally take hours to scroll through them all. I guarantee you you will find a song that you’ll love on the list. The group I was with sung a little bit of everything. Brandy, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jesse McCartney, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Marina and the Diamonds, Ciara, Justin Timberlake, and of course Beyoncé to name a few. We had the whole place jumping. The Asian fusion themed food menu was pretty good as well. The«Kimchee Fries» were amazing, and I was also a big fan of the«Bön Chon Wings». The only draw back to my experience here was that the I don’t feel the cocktails were worth what I paid for. I think they can be a little more generous with the sizes for $ 8-$ 10 per drink. Overall this is a good place to hang out, have a good time, and sing a few of your favorite songs.

Amplitude is the new hidden gem of Virginia Beach! It is so unique and fun. They have a main room for dining and karaōke as well as several private rooms if you choose to sing in front of only your friends. I love that the place is NONSMOKING — unlike WannaB’s. This also means none of the DJ rules apply because you make up your own rules in the privacy of your own space! The food is fantastic. It is an Asian/American fusion. I had the spicy shrimp and it was perfect. They have my favorite Moscato and I enjoyed their BLT. I ordered a lemonade, and even though they didn’t have it, the bartender MADE me one. Now that, is good service! Everyone is very friendly too. I can’t say enough good things about this place! I can’t wait to go tonight! :)
