We stopped in on a whim to grab a quick lunch. I was already craving sushi and just happened upon this spot because it was in the shopping center. It was during the week around lunch time so it was pretty empty inside. We ordered one spicy tuna roll and one volcano roll(they offer several half off specials and this was one of them). In my opinion the portions were awfully small for the price. It was about a 15 minute wait for the rolls so we shopped around the plaza and then came back to pick up our food. It wasn’t until we got home hat I realized how small the portions were. I don’t live in Virginia Beach, but if I did I would probably not come back. The rolls were just meh and left nothing to be desired. Since we did not dine in I cannot comment on service but the cashier/hostess did lack personality. Overall opinion — mediocre sushi in a strip mall.

Went here about two months ago with my wife and two young daughters. There was only one other customer in this establishment with her daughter. The waitress sat us right away and took our drink orders which were just waters. The waitress went to the back for a couple minutes, came back(without our waters) and proceeded to talk to the other customer about the menu and prices, ok no big deal… until she went to the back again, came back and did the exact same thing… and then again for the trifecta. After 15 minutes with no water, no order taken, no acknowledgement of our existence, it was time to go and to never return.

Although the shopping center is fairly new, the interior of Domo felt awkwardly set up and seemed to be poorly maintained. My boyfriend and I ordered two rolls to share, and he also ordered chirashi. My boyfriend ended up with a stomachache the next day, and we suspect it was something in the chirashi because that was the only thing that I didn’t eat. Although the rolls were good, it’s not likely that we’ll be coming back anytime soon. :(

This used to be my favorite sushi place until I got food poisoning. I ate there two nights ago and I’m still feeling the wrath of the bad fish I had. Be warned.

Came for lunch, the service was very fast and the lunch box was a ton of food for the price. Definitely coming back!

I used to come here several times a month, maybe even once or twice a week. We were regulars because the service was fantastic and the food was great. Our waitress was amazing but I think she left because from there on we had a slew of random waitstaff, most of them being really rude. We started to have weird experiences when we went, like once the restaurant was closed down in the middle of the day so our waitress could have lunch. We stopped going after that, hopefully one day they’ll get better waitstaff.

Fresh seafood, never had any issues with that. However I feel that a lot of the items on the menu are overpriced. The selection of rolls seems a bit bland as well. Not my go to place for sushi. There is a lot of competition out there within the same price range

The sushi is amazing! We just moved here a few months ago and everyone said Domo was the place for sushi, well they were right! This will be the only place we go to get sushi!

Never disappoints! We LOVE all the spicy rolls… The Spicy Scallop Roll is so fresh(most places don’t make it!!)

After waiting 10 minutes to be seated, the waitress disappeared. There were close to 8 patrons there, many of whom didn’t seem to be eating. After sitting there for another 25 minutes, we left.

Passable but I wouldn’t recommend getting adventurous here. Always a good thing when you ask if they have Uni and they say yes but never a good thing when the guy at the sushi counter can’t tell you when they got it in even when he is holding the tray of it in his hand. There should be a «date received» right on the tray. Not what I would call a knowledgeable staff. Young and polite enough but more than a few blank stares when asking about menu items… even basic ones that most Gai Jin would be familiar with. Two stars for having what any average sushi joint should have. I’ll keep looking for a place nearby to call my regular stop for sushi.

This place is not that good. I got some crappy sushi that tasted like the kind you get from a buffet. Their portions are awful as well. I would rather go to nara’s.

I wasn’t impressed by this place at all. Luckily I had a groupon, but I definitely won’t be going back. Pros: The katsudon was pretty good. Cons: According to our waiter, if you have a groupon you cannot get the managers special although it says on their wall«50% off volcano roll and Honolulu roll at all times everyday.» And we were informed of this after we told him we had a groupon and ordered. The sushi was okay but definitely not memorable.

Got a craving for some yummy sushi? Love lots of variety? Check out Domo Sushi on Princess Anne. A large selection of fresh sashimi, hand rolls and specialty rolls. Started with plate of seaweed salad(my favorite) and crispy oysters(perfectly cooked) and ended up with a veggie roll and three specialty rolls. The rolls were awesome and very filling. Left happy.

I cannot explain how great this place is! The service is great as well as the sushi! The Volcano roll and Honolulu are always half off! My family sticks to the edamame, fried rice, miso soup, Honolulu, volcano, and a variety of there sushi. There bento boxes are huge for those with a big appetite!

Warm sushi, sticky table, dirty soy sauce dish, not impressed at all. Raw sushi grade fish should not be served warm or room temperature. It should be cool and fresh. Chicken breast for chicken teriyaki undercooked and slightly pink in thicker areas. Luckily nobody was sick after this visit.

I come here quite often and what I notice the most is how the service is rapidly declining. Rapidly. My most recent visit was a horrifying experience. My total order was 4 rolls and fried rice. No exaggeration, we waited for an hour. One hour. On a Thursday night. They had ONE waitress for the entire restaurant! The sushi chef nonchalantly forgot all about us. Finally, my baby was over it and even my 5 year old daughter was ready to bounce. Give me a break, Domo. Either get proper help or close it down. You can afford the help with the prices you charge for rolls. Not cool.

I’m pleasantly surprised with this place. Both on quality and on price… for lunch that is. I visited these folks three plus years ago for dinner and felt like I spent way too much for what I received. That particular visit made me hesitant to return. So I stopped in today with the my office mates for lunch. I was thinking that we were going to drop a pretty penny but I was quite pleased. They had a several different lunch options for under $ 10. Lunch specials could be upgraded to a bento box(add salad and shrimp dumplings for just a $ 1.50). One thing though… I asked for the 5 pieces of sushi and a California roll lunch deal and I ended up with the sashimi lunch… While the sashimi lunch is advertised as 7 pieces of sashimi, I ended up with 10 pieces. It was a WTH moment in a very good way! I found my sashimi to be good, not great. It tasted fairly fresh. I walked out full, happy that I had a lot more food than expected although I don’t think I was served what I ordered. I think it won’t be three plus years before I go back again.
