Just Cupcakes

This was a cute little place. The frosting was delicious, but the cupcakes were really dry. It was really disappointing.

Cute little spot in town center, pleasant staff, and helpful considering I’m usually a pain in the butt with my never ending questions.
We ended up getting an M&M’s cupcake and a funfetti one to go. If you’re into lots and lots of sugar — icing included — this one is for you.
The cupcake itself was a bit dry, and like I already said, VERY sweet. Maybe I’m losing my sweet tooth? Yikes.

Overpriced. Decided to stop by since the little shop was packed. Order a chocolate fudge cupcake. I thought due to the price and fanciness of the cupcake wrapping that these would be mouth watering. The cupcake was stale and dry and tasted even worse then a cupcake you can purchase at any regular store such as Walmart, NEX, etc. Nothing spectacular. The store is more spectacular then the cupcakes. We also had a cake pop, also nothing out of the ordinary, but was much better then the cupcake.

AMAZING! I always stop by when visiting family in VA Beach and these are the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. The cupcakes are always delicious, they have a great variety, the store is adorable, and the staff is fantastic! I wish they would open a store in Florida!!!

Just Cupcakes are officially my favorite cupcake bakery ever! So yeah, they’re a little pricey: $ 3.95 each or $ 20 for 6, but they are amazing. The coconut cupcake is out of this world. The have an orange cupcake with a hint of honey that will make you melt. They have a piña colada wig a hint of Caribbean rum. The cake has perfect density, and their frosting is the perfect blend of sweet and airy. Absolutely best in the area!

I love this bakery! The cupcakes are AMAZING! The place is beautiful, and really clean. Great customer service.

(Reposting a previous review) I ordered cupcakes a couple weeks ago for our doctor’s birthday. I ordered because of your gluten-​free selection but then added 6 more regular cupcakes to total 12 cupcakes. The price was fair for a cupcakery… and once tasted I confirmed they were worth every penny. I ordered at the Hilltop store and picked up at Town Center. They transferred the order efficiently without me having to contact Point B. Our first note was the gluten-​free cupcakes were moist, something not often found with gluten-​free sweets. The icing was delicious, I’m not a fan of icing ever… but I’m a fan of your icing! Lastly, we loved that we didn’t get that ‘heavy’ feeling in our stomach after enjoying them. I noticed some of the reviews weren’t so high and I thought I’d share our completely fantastic experience. I did order almost 48 hours in advance… extra time can mean extra care ;)
I, along with others from the office, will definitely be ordering again in the future.
***Update***: Hilltop store sadly no longer open but I have gone here every year in March and they are always super accommodating. The owner is often present as well. Keep being amazing!

I wanted to try them out after seeing them on cupcake wars. I figured their cupcakes would be something impressive. Their shop is very cute and has several small seats one can sit and enjoy their cupcakes and they even have a loft area with some seating. They only have a few flavors when I went. I noticed when I was there it seemed they had the same base of cupcake and just different frosting mainly. We bought several to try the different types. They were good but nothing spectacular. They were decorated better than they tasted. A couple of them were actually very dry. I have to say I have had better cupcakes from the grocery store and at a cheaper price.

I’m kind of an amateur baker so I’m super judgey about my desserts. They better be tasty and they better be pretty. Just Cupcakes has never let me down. I don’t think I’ve had a cupcake here that I didn’t like. The chocolate peanut butter is my favorite but the coconut is pretty dang amazing, as well. At $ 3.35 per cupcake they aren’t crazy expensive. Service is always friendly. As with any bakery, the earlier in the day you come in the bigger the selection and the better the product. They have an online ordering system now and they also delivery orders above $ 15. My only complaint? Their cupcakes are almost too cute to eat!

Cute little bakery right on the corner of Town Center Dr. and Virginia Beach Blvd. There is free garage parking, that will lead you right to their front doors if you take the elevator down. It’s been a while since I’ve been in but they just added street parking too!
I love everything about this place, from the sweet girls who work here, to the décor, the product packaging, and especially — the cupcakes! All of their cupcakes are baked fresh daily & they send out a weekly menu on their website
. You can find out what flavors are available, and a description of what base and buttercream the cupcakes are. It’s always good to call in ahead or place and order to ensure that you get what flavors you want because they do get busy and run out! (For all the people who complain about that, plan ahead next time! It’s a good thing for a business to be busy and run out.)
My favorites are the Frankly Scarlet (red velvet) and the always elusive Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Ugh they’re both so good. Their cakes are soft, and their buttercreams are just the right amount of sweet and fluffy! I was never too crazy about cake, I guess I’ve always associated cake with those store bought, overly sweet cakes, but honestly, I could eat a cupcake (or three) every day if it was Just Cupcakes!

Decided to go here yesterday on my 15 minute work break and what a mistake. I picked out the Meyer lemon… it was EXTREMELY dry and stale as if it were a few days old.
On top of that, the packaging made it very difficult to get out the cupcake without knocking off all of the frosting.
I cannot imagine how they claim to have won cupcake wars. I need to go watch the episode I guess.
This place was very disappointing. I would not recommend it and I will not be returning.

I stopped here today to try one of their cupcakes as an afternoon snack today and I loved it.
It’s a small shop that serves coffee, cupcakes, cookies, and a few other items. They have a cute little setup that would be great for a little girls bday party, but of course the group has to be really small and you most definitely would want to call ahead due to space constraints.
The inside is very small and while you order your cupcake you can enjoy the modern/​current music being played. It has an up and downstairs area that in total seats about 12 people. Four of the seats being on the upper level where there is a tv. They also have outdoor seating for a max of about 5 people.
The prices are very reasonable. This is a must try for you if your taking a stroll around the area and would like to grab a snack for your sweet tooth…

I love Just Cupcakes. To me they are the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. They also have this chocolate chip cookie with sea salt on it and you are probably thinking ew why would I want a cookie with salt on it but trust me you do because the salt brings out flavors I did not even know existed in a chocolate chip cookie! I don’t know why people are so rude with their reviews because every time I’ve come I’ve had wonderful customer service and the cupcakes are always amazing! Best cupcake place hands down to me in Hampton roads!!. my favorite cupcakes are the birthday cake one and the chocolate almond pure heaven…

Tried out this place because I was taking a class in the same building. The shop is adorable & the girl who helped me was very nice and funny. The cupcakes are pretty. The only problem is that they are so dry. I ate the top of mine that had the frosting and couldn’t eat the rest. It was just waaaay too dry.

It was my birthday yesterday and I had a friend take me to the Just Cupcakes at the Va Bch Town Center location. After experiencing a Gigi cupcake, this bakery was a zero compared to the size, various flavors and customer service that Gigi’s cupcake experience gives their customers!

I’m sure the cupcakes are awesome but the girl behind the counter was so rude. She had a miserable look on her face and was constantly trying to get us out the door when we were sitting at a table after making an order to go. Was just rude when someone is in a conversation to keep shoving them off. Especially after spending $ 30 in cupcakes.

Not a dessert person, but I would def come back here again to satisfy my sweet tooth. The wife has been asking to stop by, and we made the short trip, the cupcakes were worth the trip. At first I wasn’t too enthusiastic about the price, but after my first bite, well worth the money spent.
Although the cupcakes seemed kind of small, everything about the cupcake was well put together. The cake-​to-​icing was spot on, and the icing wasn’t too sweet or grainy. I enjoyed the cupcakes we had, specifically the red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting. The cupcake itself was really moist, if you’re in the area, stop on by.

I had the pleasure of having the red velvet cupcake w cream cheese frosting. This cupcake was as close to perfect as you can get. It was moist, not too sweet and very fluffy. The icing to cupcake ratio was spot on. Def one of the best cupcakes in HR.
The décor of the shop is very cute and whimsical. It definitely makes you feel like you’re a kid in a candy shop. I loved it.
I would def stop by if you’re in the area or hit up their cupcake truck that’s around the greater Hampton roads area. You won’t be disappointed.

It bothers me when cupcakes that cost $ 3/​each are small. A $ 3 cupcake should be big and satisfying. But when the cupcake tastes good, it bothers me a little less.
That is the case with Just Cupcakes. They are moist and delicious with a good cake-​to-​icing ratio, and they’re not icky sweet. They’re just small.
The décor for Just Cupcakes is also less than stellar. It lacks both curb and interior appeal. And it looks messy inside.

So I’ve had cupcakes from their main store about 3 years ago and swore I would never go back because I was unimpressed with what they offered. And guess what, 3 years later and I am still not impressed with Just Cupcakes.
I understand this location is the satellite and all the baking is done at the location at Hilltop, which is probably why my cupcakes were tough. I guess if the cupcakes had been baked at 9 am and I was eating it at 4:30 pm and it had been out all day it would be «tough», but the thing is… it shouldn’t be. If you are serving cupcakes all day and you want them to be fresh, maybe they should be kept in better cases or something that doesn’t let the air hit them so much to dry them out.
For $ 3 a pop — the size of these cupcakes is disappointing. I feel like I could make these cupcakes at home based on their size and lack or originality. I mean, I ordered the funfetti cupcake, birthday cupcake, chocolate peanut butter, and mint chocolate chip. They have several other flavors available but nothing was screaming out to me.
I just can’t get behind this cupcake place even though they’ve been on Cupcake Wars Season 3 & 4. Sorry, that doesn’t matter to me because there are several other places making cupcakes better than this place.
