What in the world is going on here? A couple of years ago, this was one of my favorite downtown stops for antiquing – tons of quality furniture, quilts, housewares, some vintage clothes, jewelry, etc. Now – it’s like a bunch of vendors pulled out of there and those who stayed just had the left over junkiest stuff anyway. I used to find hours upon hours of entertainment here. This time, i was out in less than 15 minutes. And there’s an upstairs, too. Sad. Because I’m stuck visiting here as long as I sitll have family living here.

The self-described«friendliest shop in downtown Visalia»(or so says my receipt anyway) provided a very visually stimulating shopping environment. Wall to wall & floor to ceiling trinkets, nicknacks, tchotchkes, & straight-up JUNK. Still, I found myself an LP of Willie Nelson’s tribute album to his hero Lefty Frizzell, «To Lefty». I’ve been listening to Phosphorescent’s tribute album to Willie(called«To Willie») pretty much non stop, so in some respect it was like being able to watch a baton pass from an earlier part of the race that I’d previously missed. My cost was $ 1.50. Other than that, I couldn’t find another«must buy» in the store(much the the delight of my roommates, I’m sure, seeing as I’ve already got too much junk). If you’ve got a few minutes to kill please have at it.
