I went here during lunch break, they didn’t have anything ready. The inside looked a mess and it also had several homeless people hanging around in front of the location. Definitely not a place to go if you’re somewhat in a hurry. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that is concerned for how clean a place is. Especially if they were as slow as they were when I went by.

The best chicken in Waco hands down. It is full of flavor and always tasty. I like that they cook to order the okra nothing worse than cold soggy okra. I prefer this Krispy’s over the others in town.

Best chicken in town. Bush’s sorry excuse for fried chicken cannot even compare to Krispy Chicken!

I like Krispy Chicken’s chicken strips better than Bush’s in Waco.

Waco, Texas is my hometown — and I decided to stop by a fav chicken«shack» while visiting Waco recently. I have been eating at various Krispy Chickens in Waco since I was a child, but one stands out to me [and my tastebuds.] It’s the Krispy Chicken on S. 11th. Honestly its plan — almost ragged. You cannot walk in, there is no where to eat outside the place. You just go up, place your order, and walk away with your food. [Waco has several«glossier» Krispy Chickens — where you can sit down and eat — cleaner, brighter… but who cares??? A chicken place isnt necessarily«fine dining» so its more important that the chicken be good, than having an «outing.» ] My absolute favorite thing to get is the«Snak Pak» which consists of 2 pieces of chicken [specify if you want 2 legs or 2 thighs. If not you will get the standard leg and thigh.] It also comes with a mountain of softly cooked fried [not hard and crunchy… thick steak-cut fries that take to ketchup very well] and an actual YEAST roll. The yeast rolls are slightly sweet and have a malted taste. They are so good in fact that I often eat the roll before I eat anything else, though at times they can be dry depending on who prepared them for the day. Generally, the food is excellent 95 percent of the time. The Snak Pak will only set you back $ 4.25 [a drink will cost extra.] Due to inflation — this is the median standard cost for fried chicken most anywhere in Texas, even though it costs one dollar more than its old $ 3.25 pricetag/To be fair, the chicken had stayed the same price since I can remember, so the prices are consistent for the most part. Expect friendly people, though no special treatment. Everyone is equal there. You will get no extra rolls«with a wink» nor will people go way out of their way to cater to some whacky chicken order. These are hard working people who take pride in their food, and expect you to be a decent customer. The same people have been working at this place for YEARS so Its really a craft. Its plain and simple: a chicken shack. Good cheap chicken for less than 10 bucks! They also sell whitemeat, tenders, livers, gizzards… normal«chicken» items. They sell Country Fried Steak at some places, whicih has a lovely taste and it very tender… though to be full you might have to order two. The only downside is the early closing time. I do not remember ever being able to get chicken after 6 or 7. Then again, this is Waco Texas — and its not a «chain» so the people who operate Krispy Chicken also have lives and families to tend to. So get in there while you can, get your chicken, and ENJOY!
