I love Taco Cabana and I always seem to get good service most of the time when I come to this location but I do have to point out some problems I feel that need to be addressed. When I go in I always notice the manager doing most of the work. I guess that’s a good thing in some places but I view it as if he is picking up the slack of his employees. I went in the other day and I noticed the salsa bar was in bad shape. Most of the salsas had been used up and there were plastic cups knocked in one of them. The cilantro was looking a little un fresh and there was a bit of mess on the metal table. The manager walked out of the kitchen and just started picking up things by the soda machine and walked by the table and shook his head like he was annoyed that none of his workers were doing anything on the floor. I have come in before when he has not been around and they seem to be really slow, move at their own pace, and do their own thing. I walked in the other day and these two young guys walked in before me and started talking to the girl up front and they were just having a legit conversation and I’m standing there behind them wanting to order and no one was moving or anything and then when that girl was done with her conversation she walks away and another worker looks as if she’s confused as to why she walked away comes and takes the guys order. I was really annoyed because I had to wait and listen to this random conversation and then had to sit and wait again for these two guys to order. After I ordered every one sort of just vanished and there was only one guy in the kitchen and he was doing the tortillas on the machine and I’m just thinking is any one going to make my food? Eventually people came back in the kitchen and it got done but it normally takes the workers about 15 mins to make the food before I can leave when the manager isn’t there.

Absolute worst experience at a Taco Cabana, actually, maybe any restaurant. We normally love this place! Walked inside to eat on our way from Austin. Keep in mind, there are 9 restaurants within walking distance I could count from our table and we should have picked anywhere but here! The customer service was HORRENDOUS! The lady that took our order was on her PHONE typing while I ordered, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised the order was wrong. Then, no ice when we went to get our drinks. So the two young men behind the counter(ear phones in their ears, and on their phones) watch as the less than 5 foot tall older woman cleaning the dining room pulled a chair over and stood on it and proceeded to make 6 trips for ice to the back to fill the machine because she was too short and not strong enough to lift any more than a little at a time. Of course, my queso was not on the tray when we walked up to the heat lamps to get our own food after watching it sit there for 5 minutes waiting for them to bring it to us(We were the ONLY people in the restaurant) and when I ask for the queso I paid for the lady gave me a small cup. So when I asked if that was the medium size I paid for she smirked, laughed and just said«my bad, you got a big one»…seriously??? Why would you give us a table number on a stand if you don’t bring us the food. Just give me a number on a receipt and yell out the number like you do anyway… good thing we weren’t sitting on the patio I guess. The bathroom was filthy, including the sign on the mirror stating they«strive for cleanliness»…well, you failed! I am appalled at the lack of customer service and initiative the entire staff showed to us as customers and also to each other. NEVERAGAIN! Time to start over, clean house and fire everyone…

One of the worst Taco cabana places that I’ve ever been. The kitchen looked filthy. Torchy’s was too busy so we thought this would be a good alternate for edible food. They are terrible. Order ahead and just pick up to-go food at Torchy’s!

Absolutely the very WORST Taco Cabana ever. I wish I could give it no stars. They screwed up a cheese quesadilla — how do you mess up a cheese quesadilla? When I asked for it to be remade without my side of black beans INSIDE the quesadilla, I got a dirty look but they took it back and made me a new one. The cheese was all piled in the middle with none on the outside and it wasn’t melted. I asked two people to refill the ice machine — twenty minutes ago — and I’m still waiting. Asking for my money back. Avoid this Taco Cabana location — horrible food, crappy service, and no ice.

The service was pretty awful. The margarita machine wasn’t turned on for service and no one on the staff had the desire to turn it on. In addition no one had informed us our meal was ready. So needless to say I don’t think I would stop here for food when going in a road trip.

My family and I ordered our food and sat down. There was one person in front of us. A Waco PD officer walked in after me and ordered. He had his food within literally two minutes. The people in front of me got their food ten minutes later. We were another 10 after that. I didn’t realize it took over 20 minutes to make two tacos. Their only saving grace was giving us a couple of extra tacos for our wait.

Drink area and salsa bar were in need of cleaning. Ordered fajita taco plate. Refried beans were lukewarm and runny. Fajita meat was average. Tasted like the beef you can buy frozen at store. Disappointed.

Food was about what I expected, but the restaurant was in poor condition and not clean. Bathrooms were dirty. Would be much more appealing if they cleaned it thoroughly and did some updating.

Food is great, but the service there is awful. Several times I pulled up to the drive-thru and waited for minutes on end to be helped, sometimes just driving away after waiting for so long. I’d pull around to see the employees just standing around talking to each other. TC is a great chain, but I won’t be visiting this location again.

Love taco cabana but this is the worst store in the chain. Go elsewhere. Food and service are terrible. Been that way for years.

I’m less than pleased. Five people that ordered menu items with no specifications, and two of the orders were messed up. Doesn’t seem like customer service is a priority here.

I love Taco Cabana but not the Waco store. Avoid it at all cost. I will give then marks for consistent performance. Too bad it is lousy service, rude staff, and inaccurate orders. If you do venture in, look behind the counter. Pretty sloppy and not the best food preparation conditions I have seen. Did I mention they shut down the drive through if the«front» is busy?

While I usually really like Taco Cabana I am not a fan of this location. Stopped by and went through drive through on a trip back from Dallas to Austin. It was a Sunday afterrnoon around 1. They were not busy and there were no other cars in the drive through. Went to order and after first saying I wanted two chicken fajita tacos… they gave me my total and said pull through. Um… wait I would also like a drink… without asking if I was done ordering again gave total and somewhat rudely told me to pull through. I was going to add an additional item to the order but was tired of being rushed so skipped it. Got food. Now let me say I love TC usually and as I have been in diet mode since New Years… getting TC is a special treat. So how sad was I that the food was not good. :(The tortillas were dry. They chicken had some decent bites, some super dry bites and some that tasted like chewy fat I spit out. Even covering it with the creamy salsa which I usually ADORE wasn’t enough to save this. I wont ever stop at this location again. I have a couple Austin location that I visit when I can and the food and service there is much better.

Horrible service… there are 5 workers and all 5 ignored us for about 10 – 15 mins… until I asked if they were serving customers today… then the food took forever to come out and the meat was dry… and to top it off the patio is filthy.

Best tortillas in the world! TC doesn’t exist in California, so I always try to stop here when I am visiting family in Texas.

This place use to be awesome — now my order is constantly screwed up — last time they forgot the beans and rice and tonight they forgot my 6 extra tortillas –These people running the drive thru are clueless! The messed up the mans order ahead of me as I heard the employees talking while waiting to pay– also the tortillas are tiny!

My gf and I go here several times a month. As Baylor students we receive a discount which allows us to get two tacos two tortillas and rice beans for $ 4.50. Won’t find a better deal. The foods tasty, and we’ve had wonderful service 99% of the time.

Better than Taco Bell, and honestly better than a lot of Tex-Mex places in Waco. It’s fast food, but at least it’s tasty.

I love Taco Cabanas in other Texas cities(Austin, Round Rock, El Paso, Houston area), but I am sad to say this Taco Cabana is not good. I don’t know if mediocrity of this location is to be blamed on management/franchisee or what, but the food just isn’t as good or fresh-tasting. When we are driving through Texas we hit Taco Cabana in other Texas cities, saving our appetite for Mexican food in Waco for La Fiesta, green sauce at Casa Olé and Rosa’s.
