The white potatoes salad, baked beans & coleslaw is the BEST… I’m not impressed with the bbq but the sides are bomb

I just want Uncle Dan’s to look twice before making a decision about Christian motorcycle club being kick out of the establishment because of the Twin Peaks deal in Waco. They were paying customers and not causing any problems at all plus they ate your bar b que. You should be thankful for that totally. I know one thing for sure when someone ask me to eat at Uncle Dan’s my reply is no way the reason is it is the worst bar b que around I would rather drive to Clifton and eat at the Bunk House. You bar b que gets ratings in Waco but now that Dickeys here you might loss out plus there is mom and pops places around that is alot better. So if you are surviving still without the bikes in the parking lot great but in the future I am sure your doors will be shut and lock forever and then there will be a bankruptcy. Because the money flow will go down and you will be wondering what happen. Or you will blame someone else. Gob Bless Motorcycles and riders who enjoy the wind and the smell of this great planet God created.

I love this place. Nothing is exceptional, but everything is way above average. The prices are very reasonable. The service is fast. Can’t complain.

Oh Texas, your supposed to know bbq. This place sucked big time. Brisket, flavorless. Bbq sauce, Sweet Baby Ray sold at Super market’s is better. Ribs, meh. Sausage, wife hated and but said it’s a notch above a Costco dog. Place was dirty. Glad we were just passing thru.

2 Words: Fantastic BBQ. If you’re looking for BBQ, this is a great place to visit. I had the Texas tater with pulled pork. It was smothered in butter, sour cream, cheese, and tangy barbecue sauce. It was FANTASTIC!(See photo). Was also visiting with family and our entire group gave it a thumbs up.

The atmosphere and friendly staff made our first visit a very nice experience. The brisket and ribs where tasty and cooked nicely. The sausage was lacking for me as I found it to be like a generic store bought type but that’s just my opinion. Overall we will be back.

Best BBQ in Waco and reasonably priced. Texas Tater alone is worth the trip. Great for meetings and events.

Love love love this restaurant! This is where I went on my first date with my boyfriend and it will always be special to me because of that but also because of the Texas Tater. Oh. My. Lord. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!! Would eat it every day if I wouldn’t blow up like a balloon. Always great food. Always great service. Brisket is nicely cooked with a wonderful smokey flavor, barbecue sauce is tangy, savory, and sweet all at the same time. Love it and will be back often!

Uncle Dans is the quintessential Texas BBQ and Rib House! The food is outstanding. The slow smoked brisket and link sausage would be a great choice for anyone wanting to experience the essence of Texas BBQ. Uncle Dan himself adds flavor with his colorful banter and commentary. The sour cream(white) potato salad is unique and fantastic. The(yellow) or mustard potato salad is just as good with a different tang. Try both. Desserts aren’t worth the calories, but the original BBQ sauce is. I always tell them to «drown it». This is a special place and not to be missed if you love BBQ. Now that they slow smoke the Ribs they are also a good choice. A favorite of many is the Texas Tater loaded. Enjoy!

I’ve eaten in 3 countries, 30 states, hundreds of restaurants. This was by far some of the absolute WORSTBBQ I’ve ever eaten. The brisket tasted sour, the pulled pork was more like burnt pork, & the ribs were more bone than meat. I’ve been craving good BBQ, after eating here, I still am.

I was dragged to eat here, and I have to say they have stepped up their food since the last time I dined here. The meat was moist, juicy, and had flavor!

Went to Uncle Dan’s and met Uncle Dan himself. Cafeteria style service. I like the sliced beef brisket better than the chopped. The chopped has more edges making it a little dry. Spicy bbq sauce was amazing. Sliced beef was very tender. Chicken was great. Potato salad, mac and cheese, banana pudding, rolls, and sweet tea were all good. Mashed potatoes were salty.

Before moving to Texas we lived in Seattle and were deprived good bbq for years. If Uncle Dan’s had opened a location up there we still would have felt deprived of good bbq! The brisket tastes greasy, fatty and like it was cooked in a crock pot all day. The sausage was lacking and seemed more like bland kielbasa. The ribs were tough, the beans bland, and the coleslaw soggy. The potato salad was ok. For the life of me I can’t understand how this place stays in business when there are so many other great places like Tony Demaria’s, Vitek’s and even Rudy’s. Definitely a must miss.

I don’t understand. I am relatively new to Waco and most everyone pointed to this place to get the best BBQ in Waco. Been a couple times and not sure why anyone would recommend this place let alone almost everyone I know. Everyone is friendly that’s for sure but their personality doesn’t make up for trying to call their meat BBQ. Everything is chewy. Brisket was really chewy and had no smokiness at all. Rib was chewy and stuck to the bone way too much. When I was done chewing the rib, there was no bone visible as it was covered in meat still. Sides were nothing memorable. With all the choices in Waco for BBQ(I won’t drop any names because all of them are better) there’s no reason for me to ever return here.
