I’ve only had Fat Boy’s garlic chicken which is so delicious! The service is very friendly & very fast!
My friend & I stopped by to get 2 garlic chicken bentos which include 5 pieces of chicken & rice. It was the perfect thing for the beach!
Parking is usually not a problem since the lot is pretty big & shared with a few other stores.
They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. So you can stop by anytime to get your fix!

First off I ate there about 4 years and food was crap but gave them another go a couple of months ago and it was good. Ate there twice cuz my car was in the COSTCO auto center. Dang, forget what they were. I then returned and ordered the kalbi plate and mom ordered their bento w/​shrimp. Kalbi was too salty, too shoyu-​y but edible, nothing I would ever get. Mom was ‘satisfied’ w/​her meal… looked okay to me. Then two days I returned to get their beef stew becuz it looked and sounded delish.
Stew had 7 total chunks of meat good size, potatoes, carrots and celery. Biggest chunk of meat was very stringy as in break out the floss. One chunk carrot was still crunchy but it’s better than mushy, potatoes el dente was perfect. The red stew sauce was a bit odd for me. Parts of it tasted like star anise, another bite had a different flavor like cinnamon. It was weird but overall okay. Won’t have it again.
Mom had chili bowl. The chili was good but it was that dark dull red almost maroon that meant it was sitting there a long long time. I would get that but it has the hated beans in ‘em. My mortal enemy. Gag.
Mac salad — gawd it’s that same olé drive inn flavor, a bland, boring taste. Interchangeable with any other mac salad such as L&L. I’d say Zip’s but Z’s just adds garlic salt. I don’t even eat it any more.
Now for the service… there are some big titas there and there’s not a friendly one among them. I got the non-​tita cashier luckily, a blond dyed boy and then a petite gal. Even the cook was unhappy looking. I couldn’t work with Debbie Tita Downers lil dat.
In summary their food is really hit or miss, presentation is nice but I’d like ugly food with great taste instead. Not a place I’d recommend but a different taste from L&L and Zips.

Girl at counter needs to learn some customer service! I stood there for 3 minutes, no acknowledgement, no welcome then she didn’t even repeat my order. There’s nobody in here!!!
When I got home, I noticed they charged me for brown rice but I have white. When I called, they told me come back?! You gotta be kidding!!!

Paid over $ 10 for Chinese chicken salad and a small drink to take out. Good thing I happened to look at my salad before I drove off. There was no chicken in the chicken salad!

Dropped in this place without knowing much except the reviews.
I got the bacon boyrger and onion rings. My son’s mix plate came out about 10 minutes before my plate. It looked good and big. And my first bit was pretty good till my son said there was a hair in mouth.
I showed the casher and was offered a refund or another burger. Really?! How about BOTH…

Went for lunch today. The workers working were very friendly and gave honest reviews on some of the food items that I was inquiring about and that was very refreshing.
I ended up ordering a few plates to try.
I will say that Hamburger steak plate. was nothing to write home about. I will not order that again.
The garlic chicken was excellent!

We’ve come here a few times before. It’s always good. Came here today for weekend breakfast. We had the Kamehameha Breakfast and the Alii Fried Rice. Yummy!!! It was a nice, cozy environment and they had added a few more seats. The service was great and food came out nice and hot. No complaints here :-)

Food is good, I ordered the Ali’i plate. The meal included 2 pieces of tempura shrimp, 3 pieces of garlic chicken, few slices of teri beef/​steak, 2 scoops of rice, and lastly tossed salad (you can do mac salad). Yeah, it filled me up. However, I can’t wrap my head if it was worth the $ 10.49 :(. I can’t rate service, because this is fast food after all. I would like to come back here and try the others on the menu. Although, I do like the garlic chicken. It was cooked well and wasn’t too sweet.

Worst service, food decent but don’t give much! Female worker using a toothpick and eating the food from the hot food line. No class! Menu hard to read with that font. Where is the manager he/​she needs to clean up this service!

Installed LED menu screen, upgraded with easy to read menu. Breakfast, lunch, & dinner all with local flavor. They have specials of the day seafood or meat choices. They also changed out their benches. A lot nicer

I don’t come here for the service although we haven’t received bad service yet.
Today we had breakfast here for the first time. I had the garlic ahi, fried rice and eggs. Wife had the kalua pig omelet with fried rice. Both plates we awesome. In fact everything we have ever ate here has always been good.

Good place to go for breakfast if you live in the area. I wish they’d open earlier though. My favorite thing on their menu is corned beef hash. I have to get a piece whenever I go here. I usually call in my order and pick it up in about ten minutes and bring it home for the fam. Really good place for local food. Not a good place if you’re on a diet though… Lots of carbs and fatty good food

Service and wait was meh: Came here on a Monday around 1:30pm. Not a lot of people were in line but the wait took around 10 min. By the time we got to the register, the guy who rang us up had this look like he just didnt want to be there. I was waiting for a greeting to know when to order but after an awkward 20 seconds, I was the one who said hi and proceeded to make my order.
Baked Shoyu Chicken was good. 2 stars for that.
Most likely won’t come back here.

First time here! Ordered their mushroom Swiss burger and it was so yummy! The cashier served our food to us and was very friendly.

We ordered garlic chicken, Teri Burger, Meat Jun.
The Burger was thin and we were expected, Fat Burger, hence the name of the place.
The Meat Jun tasted like garlic and really thin slices.
The garlic chicken was the only thing we enjoyed.
Will definitely not go back.

We went of a Saturday night around 6:00 pm and it was pretty empty, maybe 3 other couples there. The menu is very hard to read due to small font and glare. The bench seats were also all cut up like others have mentioned.
I had the Chinese Chicken salad for $ 6.99 which was pretty good. There was ample sesame vinegar dressing and it was a reasonable size. Not quite enough to fill up a big appetite like mine, but definitely good for most people.
My wife had the garlic chicken mini plate upon the recommendation of so many Unilocalers. It was tender and moist. Very little garlic flavor though. It tastes similar to the Korean chicken at Zippy’s. Good size portion for the mini. One scoop rice isn’t enough for me though.
The customer service was good. The ladies were friendly, polite and bussed our table. I didn’t see any of the bad behavior mentioned by other Unilocalers, but this was our first visit here. We’ll be coming back to try more dishes because we both liked the meals. I just wish I could read the menu…

Service: the people here are wonderful. It’s always busy so sometimes the food takes a little long but it’s worth the wait.
Food Quality: OMG! The Kalua Pig omelette special is Ono no! Corned beef hash is real– lol!!! They know how to cook eggs, when you ask for over medium eggs it comes that way.
We order the Keiki bento for baseball (20+), we add in our own little smokies and the price is right;)

Needs new management… Fat boys is honestly a great place to come and have a meal in Waipio gentry. However your experience here is always a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes horrible. The garlic chicken is definitely the go to entre from the menu. However, one time I came and asked for my garlic chicken made fresh. After being served I took one bite and new it was made a while ago and had been sitting in the warmer up front. The lady who took my order started to argue with me saying that it was just made. About 15 minutes later another employee came to me and appologised saying that it wasn’t fresh. She then gave me a new plate of garlic chicken. Huge difference! The rest of the menu is pretty good too however they do not do Ala carte and large orders for parties. Like what?! I don’t understand the reasoning for that. 3 stars for me.

We got Fat Boy’s to cater our corporate event at our office. After selecting their offerings of large pans of garlic chicken, chicken katsu and mac/​potato salad, we thought we were going to get a lot of food. However, when the food was delivered, they were in the large aluminum pans but the really shallow ones. The macaroni/​potato salad was terrible as it was watery wet and the few people that had it said that it was too spicy with pepper. The appearance really looked bad.
