The Wake Forest Lions Club is participating in the Wake Forest Arbor Day festivities on Sat. 3⁄21. We are helping children plant seeds and supplying the potting soil, seed starting cups, and instructions to have the seeds grown and produce a vegetable. Many thanks to B and W Hardware in Wake Forest. We went in to purchase about 400 bush bean seeds and they gave them to us at no charge. Great friendly atmosphere and the staff was very knowledgeable. Everyone who needs a hardware store should visit B and W. Many Thanks. The Wake Forest Lions Club

great hardware store like you remember from your youth. The people who run it are great. You can find some great deals there.

Would rather shop here than a lowes or Home Depot or ACE hardware. Very friendly folk that are willing to order stuff they may not have in store.

Each year, when the holidays come around, I LOVE seeing the radio flyer wagon in the window of B &W! This past weekend, it intrigued me to walk in, not needing anything in particular, I went in to peruse through the aisles. I have never walked into B&W and not loved my visit. This is the quintessential hometown hardware store, one where I am sure my grandfather would enjoy going into just to strike up a conversation with the staff. On my latest visit, I walked in and started talking about a project we had going on with our screened in porch. Not only did the staff help me with what I would need, but told me ways to cut costs and told me who I should contact should I run into any problems. The prices are comprable to what you would find at the big box stores and you feel better when you walk out knowing that you helped a local shop with their sales for the day! All around great experience!

What a cute old-time hardware store! Their front window displays are always so eye-catching with the kids toys, flowers and tools. I finally caught them when they were open this past Saturday and went in to check it out. They stock a little bit of everything really… pipe, signs, grills, tools, paint, household cleaners, stainless steel nuts/bolts/screws, etc. They even have an area where you can purchase seeds out of buckets(specialty corn kernels, beans, etc.). They have a REALLYOLD Coke machine that has a water fountain attached to the side of it. You can buy a drink for $ 1. They also have free popcorn for customers. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. As a member of the workforce, I find it hard to get to there when they’re open, but if I need something again that I know they have I’d definitely go there first over the big box chain, just to support the local guys.
