Thought real hard about this, but I am finally done coming here. I took a 5 month break from visiting here due to my last experience with slow service and even slower food. I can tell nothing has changed and the food is now on the decline as well. Yes, the owner is very nice guy. I just truly believe that this place should just be a bar. Not going into details but when an app takes 25 mins and the best excuse I hear is «We got a pop in the kitchen» and all you see is about 4 tables being full, it is time to change. I just had myself and my two kids and even their food took extremely long. How a grilled cheese takes over 20 mins is beyond me. Buy this is not the first time I have experienced this service. in fact the last few times it has been that way. Wish you all well, but you won’t be getting my service any longer.

My wife and a friend and I ate here recently. The catfish sandwich was the best we’ve ever eaten. PERIOD! No GRISTLE, just fine white tender fish with a delicate coating. Michael(the owner) was very friendly and accommodating, as was the rest of his staff. After leaving, I felt like I had known him all of my life! The beer selection was awesome. The price was right too! This restaurant made our trip from Pennsylvania worthwhile. We all had a hankering for 2 pounds of chocolate peanut butter eggs for dessert, and understand that a place like this wouldn’t have them. We got them somewhere else, and ate them at one sitting. You can’t go wrong at Pat Murnane’s! Highly recommended!

Wings are the best in town bar none. I used to love the place and the family and I would go in once a week for dinner and sometimes after church. Sadly though it is now mostly a watering hole for the local drinkers and the language can get rough. At least they moved the smoking zone out back so you don’t have to wade thru it on the way out.

Shrimp night! Great food. Great friends. Great staff and service. There are nightly food and drink specials. Something for everyone. Family friendly as well

We tried a new sports bar Saturday night and were so pleasantly surprised, I felt the need to review! First, we could hear each other even though the bar was busy. Ordered a Bloody Mary that was awesome, made hubby order himself one after tasting mine. Second, we tried the prime rib special and were so pleased with the flavor, presentation and sides we marked our calendar to go back. The waitress was attentive though busy, we were greeted upon entering the door., I felt we were in Boston at Cheers. Liked the cosy corner with the fireplace. We will be back

Visited here last Saturday night for the prime rib special at the recommendation of friends. I really wanted to like this restaurant — a small local bar with great prime rib. What a disappointment. My husband and I both ordered prime rib, baked potato, and vegetable. Both our meals were terrible, The prime rib was lukewarm at best. It had that look of prime rib that has been setting around for a while. The potato was not cooked, was hard, and was barely warm. AFTER the waiter, Colby served our food, he informed us, «By the way, we don’t have any butter». How can a restaurant run out of butter when their advertised special was prime rib, and baked potato? And even if you do, go across the street to Walmart and get some. I do not want a baked potato without butter. I asked for the manager, and someone did come right out. He offered to make us another plate. I declined, but my husband agreed to this and did think his second meal was better. BUT, why not do this the first time. Not after we had to complain. Disappointing food, and a waiter and manager that should be trying to figure out what they are doing wrong and fix it before it’s too late. Will not be back.

Had a great night here as a visiting team for dart league. Pretty crowded with four teams in the dart room but the bartender Colby did an excellent job keeping up. Appetizers were very good and it was overall a great experience. Look forward to coming back.

Forgettable. Won’t make a point of going back. Below average food. Nothing special. Yawn.

Great size portions on their fish and chips. Entrees include a salad. Got the catfish blackened and grilled. Will come back!

I was here a couple of months ago, and I’ve been debating whether or not to write up a review. I don’t feel like I can give an overly extensive review of this restaurant, because I didn’t have more than just dessert and a couple of drinks at the bar. My overall impression was very meh and unmemorable. The place seemed kind of dumpy on the inside, and the service at the bar was slow, which was unacceptable since the place was nearly deserted, except for a couple of lone barflys. The bartender seemed way more occupied with chatting it up with these guys(who were obviously regulars) than doing his job. I can’t comment on the quality or relative Irish or non-Irishness of the food, because I really didn’t eat much. I can’t even remember the dessert I had, which I feel is pretty telling. Honestly, there are a ton more options here in the area which I know are good, so I really don’t have a desire to repeat the same lackluster experience here. Maybe someday I’ll go back, but it definitely wouldn’t be my first(or second, or third) choice.

Stopped in Friday night for dinner, and we really liked it! Very casual in every way, and that can be a comforting thing, especially after a hard day/week at work. We were given a booth that suited us just fine, and our energetic Server(Colby) treated us great. Our booth was in a nice dark corner, which made it a tad difficult to see the pretty extensive menu, which Colby said was new. All new to us anyway, being our first time there. Husband had a Yuengling while I had a $ 4 glass of their house chardonnay.(nothing thrilling, but drinkable). I wasn’t very hungry, so I opted for the House Salad, which was a nice mix of greens with cucumber, roma tomato, croutons and lots of cheese. I chose the Chipotle Lime dressing(which is also a dipping sauce, so it’s thick). Didn’t need a lot of it. Loved that Colby let me try it first, Husband was very hungry and managed to polish off a GIANT Rachael Sandwich(Reuben made with Turkey). He did let me have a taste and it was crazy good! Really nice turkey, and the bread while very thick, was surprisingly light. Highly recommend it! He chose the thinner fries as his side and they were good dipped into the chipotle lime, as well as the cocktail sauce that came with the shrimp I ordered as well. Fridays are 50 cent peel & eat Shrimp nights. I asked for just four, and was brought 5(they were a bit on the small side, but still they didn’t have to throw in an extra one). We found the menu to have many more things we want to come back and try, although it will be hard to not get the Rachael again! When I asked Colby what they are known for, he mentioned the Reuben as well as their Wings. They had some nice-sounding entrees as well. And prices are very reasonable! Our meal before tip was just $ 28.

Rueben on Wednesday and tried a burger today. Both fantastic and such a friendly staff. Perfect Wake Forest location makes it easy to find. A must stop to relax for lunch or after work or the weekend for some football watching.

These other reviews make me so sad! First of all, there is plenty of Irish food here. Their corned beef is amazing!!! I love the Reuben Sandwich, I could have eaten 3, but I stuck with 1.(Because they’re delicious, not because of portion size. They give you a great amount of food.) The margarita I got was yummy and they have a good selection of beer. The only reason I docked off a star was because of their weird sides policy. My husband wanted to get bangers and mash and a stew as the side. In the menu it says it comes with a side. The waitress said the mashed potatoes were the side. First of all, the potatoes are part of the main dish, and second, why put in the menu that it comes with a side if you can’t order a side? My husband made both arguments and the waitress said she’d ask. She went in the kitchen and came back and said ya the mashed potatoes are the side. Ugh, ok. So he ordered something else and asked for the stew as the side. She said salad is the only side option for that dish. My husband said he didn’t want salad so just leave that off, but of course as expected the price was the same. But I was thrilled with my meal! I just think they need to get the sides thing sorted out. If they want happy customers, just please don’t argue with someone that the entrée is a side and you’re going to jip them from the actual side. But I’m not going to give them 1 star for just one crappy«rule» they have.

I was out running errands and felt a a sudden want for a Burger and fries. Stopped into Pat Murnane’s(I had been here before, usually for some cold Libations), ordered a basic burger and fries plate. Absolutely the best burger I have ever had in a restaurant, it was that good. Thanks…

A bit of a disappointment. «Irish Pub» gave me expectations of Irish food on the menu — and the closest thing was a reuben sandwich. Was looking forward to maybe a bangors & mash or other Irish dishes. No such luck(pun intended). Service was okay, refills on drinks were slow and our server had the«No Problem» problem which is just a poor response to a grateful customer. There have to be at least a couple dozen other ways to respond to «Thank You» without resorting to «No Problem» which is a pet peeve of mine. «My Pleasure» or «You’re Welcome» would be much better responses. Irish Greenfire wings were advertised for those who were brave. For those who are less brave, don’t worry, these wings won’t phase you, they’re about as mild as they come. The place is about as Irish as(insert your favorite sports bar).

This is a great place to hang out and drink a pint. The staff is always friendly, greet me by name, and it’s never a fight to get another round. The food is good too!

We use to go here for watching NFL games because it is local. The food is mediocre at best and they offer nothing in drink/beer specials to lure you in. The service was horrible, but how hard is it to bring a pitcher of brew over. The vibe is they just did not want us there! They have their small group of regulars, a few Dart players and actually think they are a legit restaurant. The place is generally dead and we thought we were doing them a favor by bringing our business to them. You know like supporting you small local place as opposed to Poser City(Carolina Ale House types). Instead they despise you there in the hopes that a family of 6 could have our Table instead. We had to beg to have TV sound and no one was in the place.

I wasn’t sure coming in; going out, a hands down winner if you’re looking for true pub food as defined by sandwiches and stew. Excellent. excellent, excellent.

Went on a Thursday night about 6 pm with our party of three. We were immediately greeted at the door and seated. Not sure if it was because of the time of day, but we were the only persons there to dine. Everyone else was crowded around the bar either enjoying their favorite adult beverage or playing one of the soon-to-be-illegal sweepstakes machines. I ordered the Belfast Beef Sandwich with a side of macaroni & cheese. Loved the flavor of the sandwich, enhanced by their spice blend. The other two ordered chicken strips with a choice of dipping sauce, and the portion was well more than they could eat in one sitting and requested a to go box. Server could have offered a little better level of service. He never mentioned the nightly special, knew this was our first visit and yet did nothing to allow us to have a better understanding of the menu offerings, and was slow on drink refills. The place could use better lighting. The menus had a black background and with low lighting it was difficult to read.

Hubs and I came here this past Saturday night when we scored one of those groupon/livingsocial/twongo(not sure which ones) deal. We were stoked to get in here since we hadn’t come in since it was O’Mulligan’s. Not much has changed as far as appearance but we found the menu and service to be much better. We heard the owners were the same, not sure if that is right or not but if so, they definitely improved things. When we walked in, we were greeted as if they hadn’t seen anyone all day and we were on full display which was a bit awkward but soon after our arrival, business picked up. This was around 8pm. We got the mozzarella sticks. Hubs gets these on any menu, anytime, no matter who or what is offering them and he said these were the best he had tasted. They tasted like they were hand breaded and not prepackaged, restaurant, run-of-the-mill cheese sticks. I got the Philly Chicken sandwich with homemade chips– YES!!!, and hubs got a cheeseburger. Fat Tire on draft– SCORE! The food was large and in charge portions so we took food home. Even without the groupon situation, it would still have been well worth the money. Great bar crowd as the night went on. So glad to see a nice bar crowd in Wake Forest!
