Gina was serving us and she was very good. We had Arancini, Beet salad, Bruschetta wedges, tomato soup and Caesar salad. My wife was upset about the soup being too salty but other than that everything was great!

Cute restaurant, nicely decorated. Food was good waitress was nice, but kinda lingered after asking if we needed anything. Awkward. Overall friendly staff, clean restaurant, food was good and fresh.

Stopped here for lunch today… if you haven’t tried it yet, you DEFINITELY should. Almost all of the pasta is homemade(linguini, fettuccine, papardelle, gnocchi). I had the special Asian salmon over salad — it was AH-MAZ-ING. Hubby had the rigatoni bolognese(his favorite dish), friends had papardelle with broccoli rabe & sausage and gnocchi. Fried calamari and muscles for appetizers were excellent too. Dinners came with huge garlic buns and a side of hummus. The menu has a great variety. Even the foam on the cappuccino thick and delicious. Waitress, Gina, was a peach too. I highly recommend it! Forgot to mention one thing, if you spend $ 75 you get 2 free movie theater tickets(right on the spot) and if you to the Holiday Cinemas first and bring your ticket stub, you get 10% off your food. Nice perk!

This place is legit! I asked for my plain pie well done and it came out perfectly charred. My wife had the gnocchi, which is made in house(as are some of their other pastas.). Also excellent. My daughter had mac and cheese which had crunch bread crumbs on top and wasn’t soupy. I spoke to the owner/pizziaola after we ate. They use Caputo 00 flour, DOP tomatoes and reggiano. We had carrot cake –outstanding, and cookie pie-pretty good, for dessert. Service was very friendly. Definitely check this place out for a top notch Connecticut pizza.

Excellent cheese steak sandwich and California Dreaming(vegetarian) oven brick pizza. The only negative was the layout of the restaurant. On a cold night, sitting near the door is not recommended.

We stopped in for pizza based on other’s reviews. Our lucky day. Nancy and her staff accommodated our last minute 15 person birthday lunch. The pizza was great. Nice thin crust, great sauce, lots of flavor. The buffalo chicken and Mac n cheese pizzas were gobbled up quickly(rated 9.9÷10). We definitely will be coming back. Also, the restaurant was very clean including the bathroom. Also, make sure to try the Nutella pizza for dessert.

My sister and I decided to check this place out and were very glad we did. Not only can you smell wonderful way before you walk in but once you do it’s very well put together, very welcoming. The menu choices are well rounded and seem to cover anyone’s preference. We had Gina and Nancy taking care of us and they were amazing! The food was phenomenal and the portions were huge. Def going to make Ciao Bello a frequent stop

Great food and service! Our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was very caring and it made our experience great here. I love the fact while you wait for your food they serve you a giant garlic knot with hummus. Everything tasted so good. I will be back again to try something new.

My husband and I had dinner here again last night. It has become our go-to restaurant after work on Friday nights, since opening in the fall. We have yet to have a less-than outstanding meal. Lasagna, rigatoni bolognese, roasted chicken, gnocchi, pizzas, risotto, mac and cheese: we’ve tried all of them. Their roast chicken with cauliflower/mashed potatoes is hands-down the best meal I have ever had! Our waitresses have always been knowledgable and attentive. Personally, I cannot stand when waitstaff«hovers.“They check in with us periodically and we have never had to wait long if we requested more of something. They have a nice selection of wine and serve a standard, 5 ounce pour. If there are two of you enjoying the wine, I would recommend ordering a bottle. While I am not much on sweets, my husband loves dessert. Their oreo cheesecake and their tiramisu are ridiculously good. You also can’t go wrong with their cannoli. Ciao Bello is tucked back into the Holiday movie theater plaza. Definitely give them a try. I bet they will make a regular out of you!

This new little gem has a secret. And I hate to let the secret out, but this place deserves it. The food is remarkable and the service is off-the-charts amazing. The only reason I’d hesitate to share is because it’s not too big(another great feature that lends itself to a cozy dining experience) and this place is gonna go from 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye. Get there now because soon enough it’ll be hopping at all hours. Honestly, the staff is so warm and welcoming, they make you feel like family. Everything on the menu is delicious — quality ingredients freshly prepared by folks who know their way around a kitchen, and you MUST save room for their desserts! Why are you even still reading this?! Go! Go now!

Where to begin… Restaurant Setup: Strange — we had to walk all the way to the back to get seated… then all the way back to the front of the restaurant next to the door on a very cold day. Cool beans. Food: Not bad, but definitely not worth the money. My burrata seemed to be just plain old ricotta that strangely tasted of lemon. On a better note the s’mores pizza is unbelievably good. I think the people in the kitchen know what they’re doing, overall. An extra star just for the awesome s’mores pizza. Drinks: As far as wine goes, you get a grand total of 3 sips in a glass. Good luck making it last through your whole meal, and no, you won’t be offered any water. Service: Here’s where it gets ugly. Apart from being maddeningly slow, we also got pretty damned rude service. Mind you, there was enough waitstaff for our server to not be overwhelmed. Our waitress seemed to be in another dimension for the entire two or so hours we were there. It was excruciating… I recall spending more time waiting than eating. Waiting for her to check on us, waiting for her to ask if we were interested in dessert(I actually asked her if we were even *allowed* to order dessert) waiting for her to bring the check, waiting for her to come back to fix the check when she DOUBLE-CHARGED us for BOTH our drinks when she had never even once asked if we’d like another. Waiting for her to respond when my boyfriend approached her three times with the check and she was too busy walking back and forth between waiting on tables and the booth near the register. Ultimately, my boyfriend had to bypass her and speak with another waitress to get it all resolved. The guy in charge, who seemed to have his stuff together was very apologetic. I can tell he and the kitchen staff do care. It’s the waitstaff here that kills the entire experience. We didn’t deserve the shoddy service we got. I hope whomever is in charge takes this all to heart. Even though I won’t be back I think it would be sad for this area to lose a decent restaurant. Good luck.

Went there today for the 3rd time and for the 3rd time loved it. I think they have some of the best pizza in Wallingford. My wife ordered the chicken paillard for the second time because she loves it. I had the roasted chicken and it was awesome. The service has been very good on each visit and the prices are fair for what you get.

Restaurant recently opened, and on a Friday night it was about the only place we could get seated right away. Wait staff were very attentive and gave us extra garlic bread and hummus to start, as we were starving. The pizzas were great, very reasonably priced, and fairly unique. Nice atmosphere for such a small place!

My experience here was GREAT from the start our waiter Mario was very attentive and service was 5 star. I would recommend the roast chicken and the meatballs. Don’t make the mistake we did leave room for dessert. Come support this restaurant.

Ciao Bello is a great addition to the CT pizza scene. This place serves up the best pizza I’ve tasted in Wallingford. The staff is super friendly and the service is very good. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall between the Holiday Cinema and Big Lots so it’s not as easily visible from route 5 as some of the other restaurants in the area. The menu is fairly limited so you wont find all of your Italian classics listed but what they do, they do very well. They also serve beer, wine, etc. Definitely check it out! It’s great for dine in or take out.

We were a little skeptical, didn’t know if it would be another«run of the mill» pizza place around here. Boy did this place exceed our expectations!!! Easily the best Italian restaurant in town. We started with the antipasto and garlic knots which were delicious and serviced with hummus. Then we moved on to the California Dreamin pizza which was just the right size and had that nice thin crust – brick oven. The toppings were so fresh and included avocado, eggplant, artichokes, and sun dried tomato. We finished off with the Oreo cheesecake which was also delicious. You can definitely tell they use real ingredients and actually put time and care into making the food not only taste great but look pleasing to the eye. Service was also top notch. Give them a try, you will be pleasantly surprised!!!

Do not be fooled by the exterior. Remember the saying«Don’t judge a book by its cover»? It applies here. The outside is generic pizza parlour. Once you walk through the door, though, you will be greeted warmly, and made to feel like ‘family’ or a regular. The wonderful people who took us there had ordered ahead of time, and we had one terrific appetizer after another. The fried calamari was THEBEST I EVERHAD! They were light, crisp, ad served with a bright marinara sauce on the side. The hummus that accompanied the bread had me practically moaning. The seafood in the zuppa de pesce was so wonderfully fresh. Al and Nico came over to talk several times during the night. Their enthusiasm and passion for food is apparent immediately. They know food, they love food, and that makes for an great experience for the diner. Our waitress, Nancy is a mind-reader. Perfect! Make sure you take a look at the family pictures on the wall. I was ‘kissed’ as they say. This place made a HUGE impression! Tell a few of your friends, but not everyone! You wouldn’t want to wait in a long line…
