Much better service then the one in southington, the host was very funny singing the names of customers. Our waiter was very polite and timed the service perfectly. My boyfriend and I got a pitcher of strawberry pineapple sangria, then we placed an order of the fried mooz appetizer. For dinner he had the hickory burger and I got the angel hair with shrimp.

Absolutely love coming to this place. Wood n Tap has the best food around – even better than a Chili’s or Applebee’s in my opinion. Their nachos are a must!!! I get them every time I come here. Great food and service.

Wood N Tap did a great job renovating from the old Humphrey’s and whatever else was there before. I love that the rooms are open yet separated, so you aren’t competing with 100 other conversations at once. The bar is big enough so you can easily get around. They always, always have a great selection of beer, which is why I keep coming back. The food is reliable and gets the job done, and their prices are budget-friendly.

This is a hard place for me to review. We have had horrible service here before but we have also had good or decent service. Their food is always great though. We love their salmon burger, chicken and tap room fries, personal pizzas, salad with tuna on top(my husband’s favorite), fantastic juicy burgers, and their kid meals are really big portions for the price. We have also enjoyed some great seasonal meals and appetizers here before. So, the place tends to have long waits and sometimes has really poor service, but if you catch good service, it’s worth the wait because the food is delicious.

The Reuben eggrolls were so delicious. I just wish they would keep it on their menu permanently. Their Cobb salad is great too.

Our waitress was phenomenal. She was so polite and energetic. The food was meh. The wings were barely cooked and obviously frozen prior. The sauce was soooo bland. The new england clam chowder was just ok. Ill probably give it another try, but not any time soon.

I used to love this place. The food used to be great but lately it’s been downhill. I ordered pizza the other night for take out. Not only did it take longer then I was told it would on the phone(which I understand it was busy), but when I got home the whole bottom was burned. Not just burned a little, it was so bad we couldn’t even eat it. It was a pricey pizza too since we added grilled chicken on top of it. It was late so I wasn’t going back to restaurant to bring it back.

Super long wait for just eh food. The softies were good, crab dip wasn’t bad but the chips that accompanied the crab dip were greasy and not enough of them for the amount of the dip that was provided. The service wasn’t great either. Super slow to bring food, check up etc. Then we waited for at least 10 minutes just to get the checked picked up which was ready for payment two seconds after it was dropped off and obviously so at the edge of our table with the cards sticking out of the top. I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was decent and the fries were good. The burgers at our table were enjoyed. I might go back but definitely not on a weekend or if there is ever more than a 10 minute wait.

Foods okay and service is great. It’s what I’d expect from a chain restaurant. We go here every once in a while with the kids. They’re reasonably price also.

Let me just start by saying that I am general an «anti-mid-range-food-chain» food guy. Just from past experience, it seems like if a place has say, 5 locations, there’s usually not going to be much consistency there. That being said, I try to stick to places that have either 1, or more than 20 locations. I know that’s not always the case, but again… just based on experience. I’ve been hurt too many times. So when a trip to drop off a car for service took us to scenic Wallingford Ct last Friday, there were plenty of these type of restaurant options within about a 2 mile radius. We hard-passed on the first few we saw, but when we saw the sign from Wood N’ Tap we remembered a couple not completely disappointing past experiences at the Southington location and decided to give it a shot. It was about 5:30 on a Friday night, so we weren’t really expecting a wait. Was a bit surprising when we were told it would be a 25 minute wait for the 2 of us. We were offered the option of finding space in the bar area, but it only took one look to know that was not going to happen. It looked like a cattle pen that was about 20 cows over capacity. We elected to wait, which was a good call because it ended up only being about 15 minutes. We were seated in a really nice and comfortable booth spot off to the side. The place was pretty packed, but it didn’t «feel» packed. Layout was roomy and the décor and lighting were comfortable. Overall for atmosphere, I’d give the dining room 4 stars. Waiter arrived promptly and introduced himself and seemed like a generally nice guy that cared about his job, which I appreciated. We ordered drinks(one fancy beer and one fancy Old Fashioned) and put it for an appetizer as well, electing to give the«Tap Room Fries» a shot. Drinks and apps arrived quickly as did our entrée orders. Overall for service, 4 stars again. Not perfect, but about as perfect as you’ll get at a place like this. Food-wise, listen… it’s mid-range pub style restaurant, don’t expect the food to change your life… trust me, it won’t. But from our past experiences and this latest one, I will say that the food is super consistent and super delicious. Besides the Tap Room Fries(which are a MUST), we ordered burgers… mainly because we were in a burger mood. I went with the Buffalo Chicken and she went with the Bison. Again, both were delicious. Best burger ever? No. Worth every penny and semi-memorable? Yes! We also ordered an app of the Calamari to go for our son, and I can verify that it was possibly one of the best Calamari’s I’ve ever had at this type of restaurant. I’d call this a «30 minute» joint. If you get there, and the wait is 30 minutes or less, it’ll be worth your while. If it’s like 45 minutes, I’d consider one of the many other options in the area. I mean, unless you REALLLY want those fries. Then, maybe.

Well, came here on a Saturday night for a couple of drinks with a friend, found the last high top in the bar area available and claimed it as I waited for my sidekick. It admittedly took a little while to order but finally got our drinks and our waitress didn’t seem very interested in creating any rapport with us. It was more like a run by drop off and slid the drinks in to my hand like a saloon, I’m not sure if that was because it was busy and she was the only one covering the lounge? Towards the end of our time there she disappeared and someone else came by asking if we wanted our check, it was very confusing. Anyway I digress, as we sat there, every time I would take a sip from my drink a lady two tables over from us with her young son was screaming at the hockey game on television and swearing up a storm. As this would happen, startled, I would spill a little bit of my beverage on myself each time and resulted in about half of each drink on my clothes. Why do I bring this up? Because as uncomfortable as it was, she needed to be told to pipe down. I understand it’s a sports bar but when every table is dropping their food or jumping every time she yelled at the tv, it became un-enjoyable and the crowd cheered when she left. As other patrons left the bar, they wouldn’t politely push their seats back in against the bar and the egress to the bathroom was blocked by a jungle of high top chairs that people needed to jump and somersault over to get by. Some pushed them in, most did not, neither did the staff. We asked for a couple of waters and only one was delivered, and we hardly saw our waitress(sad face). Now I’ve been here before and sat in the dining room and service was a little better, I’m not sure if this was an off night so that is why I’m not awarding two stars and will update accordingly next time I go in. But hey! That’s just MY review, a foooooood review!

The beer selection is good. Food isn’t BAD. Servers pretend to be knowledgeable about beer. Service is always crappy, at least in the bar area… Bartenders aren’t friendly and will pretty much ignore you unless you are friends.

Great burger cooked perfectly. Mario, our waiter in the bar area gets five stars. He noticed right away that our table wait was longer than expected and went to check on it himself. He also passed by our dinner table once to see if we were ok. Excellent customer service. Our dinner waitress was good but never refilled our water or asked. It was a busy Thursday night but we almost closed the restaurant. Overall, great location and food.

This place is great and has a good atmosphere. Like most places it has traditional bar food but the burgers are amazing. If you love salads their selection is better then most places you will find. For beer lovers they carry a good array of traditional and craft beers. They do support local breweries so this is a huge plus for me. My fiancée and I actually had our first date here so I guess that’s a bonus.

ATTENTIONBURGERLOVERS! This review is for their Kobe Beef(Wagyu) burger! This grass-fed patty needs no cheese companion! For me to say that is astounding btw. The flavors popped brilliantly on my palette. The soft brioche roll was a perfect match for this burger! The truffle dipping cream on the side was also delicious. Everything tasted fresh. Thanks Wood-N-Tap for supporting happy cows and our local farmers. :) Cheers.

After another horrible experience courtesy of Zachary, a waiter whose attitude and pretentiousness permeated the bar area tonight, I won’t be back. If service includes shoving some menus down and giving us 30 seconds to order, taking plates away when we weren’t finished, not asking if we wanted refills or something else, you clearly don’t need the tip money and wood n tap doesn’t want my business.

I stopped in here after a movie at about 10PM on Saturday, August 29th. The bartender was nice but she was the only one behind the bar, trying to clean and serve all the customers and we felt a little neglected. I ordered a beer and the fried calamari appetizer. It was overcooked and the aioli sauce it was served with was too spicy for my liking. I asked for tartar sauce and by the time it came out, the calamari was cold. We also ordered the brownie for dessert. That was very good. My boyfriend did not like his food, he ordered a burger, medium and it was over cooked.

I’ve been back a few times and still can’t bring myself to order anything besides the Fried Calamari. It’s that good. I’ve tried some of the pasta dishes via stealing from my friends, and they’re alright. Nothing to write home about. The same goes with their burgers, which are tasty and will get you full, but aren’t anything exceptional. I’d stick with the bar bites and just order more drinks! Take advantage of the Unilocal deal if you can, and get a free dessert with your meal. I’ve gotten the brownie ice cream sundae concoction, and it’s insanely good. Warm brownie, generous scoops of ice cream, and lots of nuts and chocolate syrup on top. This is best split with a few friends unless you want to die an early(and happy) death. Service has been great every time I’ve gone. Come here for a good night with friends who would rather drink than eat or who can’t figure out what they want to eat.

For what it’s worth, I find the 3 star rating to be dead on. A chain restaurant, but not a juggernaut one — it’s what you’d expect. American dishes, nothing sensational but not disappointing. We stuck with the standards for this place, I opted for a bacon cheeseburger which was cooked well but overly flavorless with overlooked fries. My dining partner went with the Santa Fe Chicken which the serving size was surprisingly generous. Chicken was fine, but nothing Santa Fe about it aside from some BBQ sauce poured over it with black beans. I will say the crème brûlée was incredible and the lemonade cocktails were strong and delicious. Can’t say I would add this place to my rotation of Mom night out dinner date spots, but I would gladly stop by for drink and dessert.
