Teriyaki beef with sushi is the best lunch combo. Unlike most sushi place load you up with the beef or rice, they have a very balance of beef and nicely size sashimi. 12 bucks… Very refreshing.

I’ve been going here for years. The food is wonderful, the cuts are generous and the staff are friendly. I always refer people here when they visit.

A small traditional Japanese restaurant with less than twelve tables but it’s been my favorite sushi restaurant for years. I’ve told all my friends about Ninja’s best quality sashimi and the large portion of lunch combination as well as the Chirashi bowl. The sashimi is always very thick and fresh. I love the Chirashi bowl and Sashimi deluxe. I’ve tried a lot of Japanese restaurant, for the price of $ 17.95, Chirashi bowl here is unbeatable. The restaurant is at the corner of the plaza, sometimes parking is a headache if you try to park closely. The service is OK for they are always very busy during the lunch time. Because the space was limited if there’s a line you probably have to wait outside. I like this kind of small restaurant which makes me feel like home, cozy and relax. Especially yummy food. I always believe that comfort food can lower your stress levels.

My family celebrated early Mother’s day here for lunch on a Saturday. We called in early to get a spot for 6. This place’s lunch prices are still pretty good. You can order the chirashi or sashimi special for around ~$ 17 and get a good 15 pieces of sashimi that are huge and high quality. On top of getting the Chirashi and Sashimi specials, we also ordered the Sherry Roll and Rainbow Roll. I liked the Sherry Roll more and thought the Ponzu sauce added a lot to the roll.

Best sashimi in town. The place looks like it’s for Americans, but the sushi bar is more than authentic. I’ve been coming to this place for years, and I always order the sashimi deluxe which is a steal! The owner(sushi chef) is a good man. I crave for the sushi from this place all the time, and I come here for it whenever I’m in the area.

We were trying to get sushi and settled for this place. From the second we walked in I had a feeling I was not going to like it. The waitress was not attentive at all we had to flag her down a couple of time to get refills and sauces. The sushi rolls were poorly made. The Alaska roll is not what I’m used too. I seriously wanted to give it back but since I was so hungry I decided to give it a try. It wasn’t bad in taste but in terms of presentation it was sloppy. Way too much rice on the rolls ! Maybe if the sushi chef was sober he would’ve made the rolls better. At the end we were rushed to pay the bill while still eating. Seriously I’m not sure if we came in a bad time or what, but I will never be returning.

It was my first time here, very authentic and delicious selection, everything is made fresh and customer service was the best, they were very attentive and courteous. Definitely will come back again! My husband and I tried the Philadelphia roll, and our all time favorite was spider roll! Must try!

I generally only come here for their lunch specials! The bento box that’s usually about under $ 10. Comes with California roll, sashimi, rice, salad, miso soup, and your choice of either teriyaki chicken or beef! You know sometimes you just don’t want to spend more than $ 10 for lunch haha. Service is spotty tho. For the times I’ve been here it’s never been THATBAD as some Unilocalers claim, but maybe I just got lucky haha.

I love Ninja Sushi! It’s a great place to come for some casual sushi. Personally, I’ve only been for lunch because the quality and price are pretty hard to beat. I always get the lunch combinations, and for around $ 10, it’s worth it. I usually get the Combination A with Chicken, and it comes with teriyaki chicken, a California roll, sashimi, miso soup, rice, and two kinds of salad. The other combination I get is the Chicken and Sashimi combination. It’s a little pricier than the Combination A and you don’t get a California roll, but you get double the sashimi! When my family orders, we always get the Dynamite also! Most Dynamites lack seafood, but the one here doesn’t! It’s always filled with scallops, shrimp, mushrosom, fish eggs, and it’s probably the best Dynamite I’ve had in this area. They also offer a different lunch combination each day, and you’ll see a display of it when you walk in. The fish is always of good quality, I have yet to have a bad experience! The ladies and chefs who work there are also really nice. Would definitely recommend Ninja Sushi if you’re looking for some good food for a good price.

Very over priced, you’re basically paying for the size of the rolls. But yet it’s still over priced because the quality of the rolls wasn’t all that. Very small restaurant … There is a lot of selections if you have a big wallet. Sorry I will continue to go to AMI Sushi on Nogales and Amar in the city of Walnut.

Sushi in the area is scant at best. This place definitely ranks at the top of the list for the local fair. Styled after a traditional sushi place, it is compact and inviting. Each small table feels like an island. The sushi is decent, not best texture, but fresh nonetheless. Definitely beats AMI sushi.

I honestly come here so often. The sushi here is fresh every time and the service is great except this one lady with the glasses and short black hair, she has an attitude. The reason why i gave four stars instead of five is because of her. I always order the mix sushi(regular) and today i came with my mom and she ordered tuna salad. I absolutely love the quality of the sushi and its not over priced.

Great sashimi and dinner plates. My wife likes the authentic Okinawan ramen. I Love this place because of the mom n pop feel. I think this place is owned n operated by a Japanese family. The two older Japanese ladies that serve you are adorable, helpful and friendly. The only better place I dine for Japanese cuisine is my Japanese grandma’s house(not a fair comparison I know but this place is a very close second :) So far I have had the chicken and steak teriyaki, I prefer the steak but the chicken is also good. The garlic fried octopus is amazing(but not for the unadventurous eaters out there). My wife loves the chirashi bowls here but she is pregnant now and can’t have raw fish so lately she has been eating the ramen and loves it. She also likes the teriyaki salmon. I always have to get at least one order of salmon sashimi because it’s always fresh and in good proportions here. Fair amount of high quality sashimi for the price. Sure you can get more somewhere else, but the quality is not nearly as good. And the really expensive places don’t serve you enough portion. Ninja does it just right! This place is a local favorite for a reason. It gets pretty crowded for dinner because it’s a local hot spot so you might have to wait a bit, so sometimes that’s a bummer, but totally worth the wait!

Food: My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday. I ordered their sashimi deluxe. The presentation was pretty good, one of the better ones that I’ve seen around this area. The deluxe version came with amaebi(sweet shrimp). The waitress even humored me and waited for me to take a picture of it before taking the head back to deep fry it. I liked that this place was run by Japanese people only because I prefer to have Japanese food cooked or prepared by Japanese people. It definitely helped with the authenticity of the food. This is in no way a knock on fusion restaurants. They each have their own merits. Service: Service was pretty good. Everybody was friendly and all of the food was brought out within a reasonable wait time. Location: The restaurant is located in the same shopping center as Vons. There’s plenty of parking spots. Inside the restaurant, there aren’t that many tables or spots at the sushi bar. It’s kind of cozy where it feels like you’re eating at a friend’s house. Overall: Based on what I ordered and the favorable reaction of my family members, I would definitely return here to try the other items on their menu.

Where the heck am I, a NorCal guy down here for work? Well, when a local friend touts a place as his favorite Japanese restaurant, you find out. Staying near Fullerton, our friends invited us to meet here for a primetime(Saturday night) dinner. Arriving around 6:30 pm, we saw only one empty table with a reserved sign on it, fortunately ours. With SoCal traffic, unless you live within an exit or two of your destination, your travel time is a crapshoot. After our hosts arrived, we shared the following: Appetizers 1) Salmon skin salad( ) — Our hosts explained that this is house made, unlike many local Japanese restaurants who buy premade salmon skin. It was crispy, tasty, and had no hint of fishiness. 2) Grilled scallops( ) — The sauce went well as did the asparagus spears. 3) Miso marinated cod( ) — Cooked well, though slightly on the drier side. Flavors were good but need to use dipping sauce. 4) Hamachi kama( ) — Fried well and not overdone like many places. 5) Grilled squid( ) — Not a huge squid fan, but we finished this plate easily. 6) Large chirashi( ) — Great assortment of sashimi pieces with the uni being the star in the center. 7) Sashimi combo( ) — Decent cuts of a pretty good variety of fish. Everything was tender. 8) Chwan mushi( ) — One of the best that I’ve had. The egg custard was silky and fluid and the broth had a clean flavor. 9) Spicy scallop roll( ) — Generous portions with an overflowing amount of spicy scallops. 10) Spicy tuna roll( ) — Not quite as impressive as the scallop one, but, again, not a bite left. Besides the chwan mushi, my next favorite was the miso soup made from the amaebi head from the sashimi combo( ). The business is apparently operated and owned by a Japanese family, a rarity these days, with father and son manning the sushi station. This is definitely a neighborhood place so don’t expect a fine dining experience. More of a throwback place. There is a sign up list when the restaurant is full. Our gracious hosts wouldn’t show us the bill, but their menu prices seemed reasonable, especially given the menu size Big thanks to those friends for a four star meal!

Tuna be stringy here, which is not appetizing for me. I’m lucky I can dump any sushi onto my sushi fiend friend. I ordered the beef lunch combo, which included rice, California rolls, teriyaki beef, salad, salmon, and tuna. The salmon was above average. The tuna was average(but not to my liking). Teriyaki beef was a bit dry. For ~$ 10, this place is awesome because it’s a good variety for a good price. I’d probably come here again for the combo. It feels like the combo could be better(like the taste is at 80% for the teriyaki beef) and if it reached its full potential, this place would be an easy 5 stars.

Been here once before — I remember I wasn’t impressed but I’m glad I gave it another chance! Chirashi Bowl — Huge! They have a variety of different fish in this bowl. Sashimi is fresher than most restaurants. Sashimi/California Roll/Chicken Teriyaki Combo — The sashimi was thick and relatively fresh. California roll comes in 8 pieces. And the teriyaki chicken was great! Beef Teriyaki/Sashimi — The beef was cooked to a medium rare! Whatt!!! This isn’t some fancy steak place but a sushi place! Usually when I eat at sushi restaurants, most beef is cooked well done because they can’t perfect a medium rare. Wow, I was impressed. Miso Soup — A little light on the miso, not the best I’ve had. Salad — The dressing on the salad reminded me of Daikokuya. It’s an onion dressing, which is pretty addicting! All combos come with miso soup, rice, and salad. It also comes with potato salad in which I tasted crab. Delicious! All the food came out within 5 minutes of ordering and its steaming hot so you know it’s fresh! The service was attentive and welcoming. Cheaper than most Japanese restaurants and good quality too!

I love this place for weekday lunch! They have the best lunch specials. You get so much food for the price. My favorite combo is the sashimi and teriyaki beef. It comes with 10 pieces of sashimi(a mixture of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and some white fish) and a slab of teriyaki beef. The beef is really tender and reminds me of steak strips. In addition, all lunch combo meals come with miso soup, salad, rice, and potato salad. Other entrée options are teriyaki chicken, California rolls, and tempura, and more. You could choose which main entrée items suit your liking and you’re good to go! I’ve also tried their chirashi and baked dynamite. Dynamite is delicious. It is scallops, mushrooms, onions, and masago baked in a creamy delicious sauce. It tastes heavenly with rice. The chirashi is reasonably priced(not cheap but not expensive compared to other places either). This place only gets 1 star off because the fish that comes with the combo isn’t the best. I mean, it’s still good enough to satisfy my cravings but obviously the better pieces are probably served as sushi or something. I’m also really critical because I’ve had high quality sashimi before and this place doesn’t compare to that. BUTSTILL, NINJAIS A GREATLOCALOPTION.
