Love Raymond’s, friendly and food is great. Their brown rice and sezchuan shrimp is my favorite — lots of veggies and not too salty. We love their lo mein and eggrolls, too. Solid choice for quick and yummy Chinese!

Raymond sold his Chinese restaurant and a new one is in its place. Disappointed, since he has sold his other one on Mall Road.

Comfortable and clean atmosphere. A little off the beaten path but great local Chinese restaurant if you live in the Union or Walton area. Curry chicken could have used a little more spice for my taste, but Schezwan chicken packed some punch!

Glad to see they have removed Raymond’s name from the restaurant. Since they sold it, the quality has really gone down hill. Will not go back, and this was one of our favorite places.

This use to be my favorite restaurant. It has been sold and the food is not good. I wish Raymond was there with his wife. It’s sad

Raymond and Louisa sold the restaurant. We have been going for over a decade. We had their food tonight. It ISHORRIBLE. The ingredients are sub par, the meat is not fresh, the menu it broken, and if you order Raymond’s Honk Kong Combination Fried rice, be prepared for all American rice with soy and pineapple with one shrimp. The cashew chicken? Don’t bother. At first I could deal with the chicken with mixed vegetables with brown sauce because the new owner yelled at me and told me no cashews in cashew chicken. You are wrong. Superb customer service. Then she yelled at me again, and said it is ok. I’ll cook again for yo for half price. But cashew chicken hash no cashews. The General Tsos Chicken has changed to look more like a stew with brown sauce and a lonely, soggy broccoli leaf. The steam rice. Well. If you Have ever wondered what it is like to eat raw rice, try the steamed rice. Customer service. Well. May as well go to Dicks Last Resort for the same customer service, at least you’ll get quality food, comparatively speaking. We have been going to Raymond’s for a decade plus, minimum once a week. We will NEVER be back.

Raymond and Louisa sold this restaurant a few months ago and now the new owners are clueless and don’t seem to know what they’re doing. They buy obviously cheap ingredients and you can really taste the bad difference in quality. The prices are still high but they’re are using super cheap meats and spices– anything to cut corners and make more money. They don’t know what they’re doing and they’re running the place into the ground. This place is no longer the Raymond’s everyone grew to love.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Raymond will go out of his way to make sure you are satisfied and they definitely put their customers first. The food was delicious and the presentation was top notch. Great meal!

The owner Raymond came by to see how our dinner was. I told him it was great. It’s so nice of him to visit us. He even sat down and talked to us for a while. I really respect that and appreciated it. So onto dinner, I had dinner with my sister and friend of mine Steve. We first order the hot and sour soup. I’m usually not a fan of that soup, but i tried it anyway, it was AWESOME!!! Onto the main course I order the beef Thai curry hot Pot. That was superior flavor was really good. My sister order the chow fun, she said it was ok. Steve order lemon chicken. Steve really liked it. The main reason I gave 4 star was the owner taking the time with us. I will defiantly be back.

Stopped at Holiday Inn while on a trip and Unilocal was clear that Raymond’s was good. My wife and I had dinner and it was excellent. The folks that work there are great and made our meal exactly as ordered. Food was very hot and fresh. Two meals and hot tea was $ 30.

Phenomenal! The Thai Mince Pork Wrap were incredible, and the Curry Clay pot was even better! Portions and prices are great. I’ll be eating here again, when I come back. Definitively, a do not miss!

So, I went visit KY again for the July 4th weekend. Of course I came here again for the food that I have been missing since last time. It was quiet and nice. One thing that strike me most of how the owners(Louisa and Raymond) and staff go out of their way to help the customer. There was a old couple and the gentleman needed help getting to his table and getting out. The owners and the staff just jumped in and moved the tables and chairs and guided that gentleman to sit down; and again with 2 people helping them leaving the restaurant and assisting him to get on his van. Maybe people in KY are more friendly, but who does that? I can see why they have a lot of customers who are older. They are are really nice to their customers, old and young. The kids were having fun and getting personal attention from the owners, and the older ones get a friendly chat with Raymond or Louisa. And yes, people knows the owner by name and vice versa. It really was like dining in a friend’s kitchen for some. I guess they define what it meant as a family restaurant. I got my favourite Crab Rangoon. Yes, it is American Chinese, but they are GOOD. The proportion of the wonton wrap and the cream cheese is perfect. They look cute too. I had the steamed Chilean Seabass with ginger and scallion. It is pricey if you compare to cheap take out Chinese restaurant or Chinese buffet, but where can you get a good seabass for 23 dollars? It was tender and flavorful. Most importantly, it was not overcooked!

Raymond’s offers a clean, nicely decorated restaurant that serves a step above your average Chinese takeout. The food is good and seems fresh. the price, however, is also a step above your average Chinese take out. I wouldn’t necessarily call it expensive, but it’s definitely not a deal. However, the food just doesn’t really stand out to me. It’s someplace that I’ll visit if I’m hungry and nearby, but definitely not a destination spot. Oh, and the last time I was there, Top 40 music(Kiss 107) was playing really, really loudly. Not only was it anachronistic in the tastefully decorated restaurant, it was just plain annoying.

A few of us stopped here for lunch. I ordered Honey Garlic Chicken. It was cooked perfectly. Raymond, the owner, sent over a dessert because he knew my boss. He definitely knows how to treat you special. He sent Cheese Xango which is cream cheese in a light sweet bread wrap. WOW! It was sooooo wonderful! Excellent Lunch!

We hit this on the way out of town last weekend, looking for something different. The restaurant is clean and neat, the scallion pancakes rocked. Egg rolls were standard. My husbands Schezwan chicken was fine. I had a special called dry chili chicken. In love spicy, and when I asked about the dish, our service called it «intense»… She wasn’t kidding! It was delicious, and very, very spicy. We will go back when we’re traveling through that area again and want something other than the standard fast food.

Better and much cleaner than the average strip mall Chinese restaurant. The owners are are usually on hand to ensure one feels welcome and appreciated. The soups,(ESP the spinach tomato) are excellent as is the service. However, many of the entrees are simply stock food supply items in heavy sauce at a premium price.

This place is rather good. However, it is a BIT pricey. And I emphasize the BIT part. Plan on dishing out a minimum of $ 45 for a family of four. That’s if you keep it pretty basic. But on to the food… The food is rather consistent for the most part. However, sometimes the breading for the orange beef can vary depending on what they use. Their general tsaos tofu is really good(it is not on the menu, but if you ask to sub tofu for anything they will). The Vegetable panfried dumplings are really good and the sauce to go with is sooooo good. Overall, there have only been a couple of occasions where something wasn’t so hot. I really like coming here, but I always dread the bill. The owners are WONDERFUL people. And we had been patrons for years at the other past location, Cathay Kitchen, which I last heard they no longer run. Anyways, this place is good. Give it a shot if you have the extra cash to spend and want some good chinese food.

My last experience at Raymond’s was less than stellar. I ordered take-out for my family to the tune of $ 45, and was pretty disappointed in the quality. Our order included crispy orange beef, kung pao chicken, chicken fried rice and three egg rolls. The portion size was ample. However, everything tasted frozen and unexceptional. The beef and chicken tasted so over processed that they hardly that you could hardly tell them apart. The sauces were too greasy, too salty, and too much like every other Chinese joint around. I think the slowing economy has hurt this place(like every other restaurant) since they no longer serve breakfast and are substituting lower cost ingredients for better ones. My recommendation would be to skimp on the portion sizes(since they are still enough for two meals) and keep the better quality ingredients because freshness is the only thing that will separate Raymond’s from the pack.
