Always see the commercials of the two guys eating at the drive through and figured why not give them a chance. Ordered just two milkshakes. We waited just under 20 minutes for our shakes to come out to us. They were just average milkshakes and for the lot to be empty, this should have not taken 20 minutes for simple shakes. Most likely not returning for shakes while passing by next time ever.

It was a long wait before they brought our drinks. I mean like a ten minutes wait. They seemed to have a lot of lines but still i was a very long wait just for three drinks and the one girl came to us with the wrong order. When the drinks arrived it wasn’t something worth the wait.

This sonic is so slow and always gets your order wrong. I will probably not be back. The only saving grace is the food is not always terrible.

It’s Sonic. It should be easy, fast, cheap and fun. We visit the WF location a couple times a year. Usually it’s a pleasant experience. Yeah, they rarely have catsup ready and still use the little foil packs, but its friendly and pleasant. Tonight, a disaster. Appear to be understaffed and under trained. Order was placed, correctly booked, paid by cc no issue. Then, a 25 minute wait! No explanation. A neighboring car arrived, ordered, ate and left before our food came out. Fail. My son ordered a Cheesecake Oreo milkshake. Yeah, doesn’t sound like a great pick, but that’s what shakes are these days. He sipped it when it arrive, no problem. Second sip, he pronounces it inedible. It’s fruit! he declares. I take a little sip from the straw, strong cheesecake taste kind of sweet, almost fruity, take a full draw from the straw… the sweetness turns to that of kerosene. Either they added the cheesecake syrup after blending the shake, or half the cup was the syrup,…the shake is way out of bounds. FAIL We call in and explain and asks for an exchange. They accept and offer to bring him a chocolate shake. As we wait on the shake, we work on the chicken strips. BBQ sauce is there, but not the honey mustard we requested. It’s on the receipt. When the girl comes to deliver the shake, we ask for the missing sauce. She promises to bring it. Three trips later, still no sauce. Now approaching the one hour mark, we give up and eat them dry and drive away pretty disenfrachised with Wappinger Falls Sonic. FAIL Get home, hope to book our experience on to let them know, the website is down. FAIL Route 9 has so many food options, if their management is this weak, it’s going to be over soon.

The biggest problem here is the wait for the food, and the dreadfully slow service — I think hiring a good 5+ people would seriously help. Although all of the staff there are very friendly, the food can seem very thrown together, again due to rushing and understaffing. Would be a much better place otherwise.

Sonic has decent food at decent prices with decent service. We just go through the drive thru so I can’t talk about the car port service, but the drive thru is just fine. My only complaint is that the milkshakes can be too thick to drink and the straws are too thin, so sometimes they collapse on themselves while you’re trying to drink and then you get no milkshake at all.

Haven’t been here in a few years. They used to have dollar deals everyday, now they don’t?! Why not!!! Other then that it’s good food!

Okay so this is my second time coming here. I came here about 3 years ago and ordered their Texas toast grilled cheese sandwich. I was so excited to have a grilled cheese! Not. I opened my paper bag and found two pieces of cold stale Texas toast bread with cold American cheese slices inside. I literally threw it out the window. Talk about disgusting and disgraceful. Three years later I’m looking for some treasures at the nearby goodwill and figure i would stop by and try it again. I got a corndog and med. cheesy tots. The cheesy tots weren’t that cheesy, the amount of tots were lacking, and the cheese was like hard glue, not melty and gooey and warm. Cold and hard. Like they just tried melting a slice of cheese on them. The corn dog was okay. Mediocre. All in all, If you’re not picky, used to eating fast food, or craving carnival like food, this is the place to go. The only thing I will come back for, and give a try is one of their shakes. Honestly, I can’t help but feel that will be the third strike.

Wow, I show up at 1023 and am told they are closed. When I stated that their listed hours were till 11pm the cashier cops an attitude and says«didn’t I tell you we’re closed?!». Then she tells me her manager told her to close at 1015 tonight. What kind of a business are you running here?! It’s not a holiday, if you want to close your business at 10 then advertise those times. What a joke. Whoever owns this particular franchise location should be embarrassed.

I used to love sonic so much back in oklahoma and missouri… The customer service was always awesome… Whoever ran the drive through tonight was impatient and a little mean… The red haired guy that have me my drinks was really nice though. I will travel to the newburgh one from now on. This is the last time sonic in wappingers gets my money. I’m a gm for a quick service restaurant and i am shocked to have been treated like that during my order. Guest service should be the focus in the food industry… also i paid already and have been waiting at the window now for 10 mins… I’m still here as i write this…

This is more about customer service, the food, is ok, its fast food, and not something you want to think too much about while or after eating. But«Will» at the wappingers location was so awesome. I ordered the wrong hotdog and even though the mistake was my own, he corrected it at no cost which really made my day. Kid was pleasant from beginning to end, very nice guy.

Service was slow even though it wasn’t very crowded. Awesome onion rings(real onion). The fries were just ok– a large is actually kind of small and the fries were dry and not that hot, like they’d been sitting for awhile. The burgers were ok– again, a little dry, but still good. T The slushie and Oreo caramel shake were must have items– they offer 25 flavors of each! Nice big chunks of Oreo cookies– the only thing that would have made it better is one of those straws with the spoon on the end;-)

I have eaten here several times. The food ranges from just barely okay to barely passable. Certainly not like the first Sonic I ain before they became a big franchise. I would go to a Wendy’s or Nathans or a pizza place before going back here.

Horrible — not food! The WORST quality hotdog that I have ever eaten. It is only fair to mention up front that I’m not much of a fast food eater. But I have certainly enjoyed a burger here and there from McDonald’s and Wendy’s. now and then. We saw the commercial for the hotdog on a pretzel roll with cheese, bacon and onions so we decided to drive up to Sonic one Sunday afternoon to try it. Who could make that combination taste bad??? UGH — Sonic can! The pretzel roll, just tasted like an old roll. The«cheese» Ha! what a joke — I doubt very much that was any type of dairy in THAT. The bacon — very little — was overpowered by greasy onions. I also ordered a chocolate shake which I could not get through the straw for over an hour because it was so thick, why? If I wanted ice cream, I would have ordered ice cream. When I got home, I tried using a spoon for the shake but when I tasted the«whipped cream» I gave up and threw the shake out. The so called«whipped cream» was so waxy and artificial tasting! I dumped the shake down the kitchen sink and it took 5 minutes to get the whipped cream to break down and go down the drain with hot water running on it. It was like rinsing out a mayonnaise jar for recycling — UGH — Disgusting. I was also disappointed in the layout at Sonic, isn’t the selling point the roller skaters coming to your car? The layout of this Sonic is not designed that you can watch the servers skating around or up to the cars. You either pull straight up to the building — all the cars in a line — so no way to watch OR you pull into the back row facing away from the building — no way to watch. I’m sure that is very disappointing to the children that come there. Isn’t that supposed to be the fun part? Otherwise, just why not just go to a regular drive thru window. To top it off, they don’t bring you a tray to set onto or next to your car window. They just handed my hubz a paper bag with a greasy cardboard tray inside of it with our horrible food inside of it. Never again. I wish that I could give this place MINUS stars.

Not your Oklahoma or Texas Sonic for sure. For whatever reason they just can’t get it right in Wappingers and Newburgh. The quality is all over the place with it being bad more often than good. I’d say 1 out of 20 visits I will get acceptable food at either of these locations. There was a period there when it wasn’t bad. They had brought in someone to take over the management(I tend to believe he worked for the franchisee) and quality went up substantially. Then all of a sudden it went downhill again and I found that the original manager was back. Ever since, the quality is below expectation, just as it was before the other manager’s stay there. I really don’t know what to say other than if you’re going into insulin shock or something and need to eat it would be adequate. But, if you’re looking for consistently good or even acceptable food you may as well forget these two Sonic locations.

I remember when this stupid godforsaken place opened. Lines that were legit 20 mins long and had ppl wrapped around the shopping center all for a wait in the car slots. More like car Sluts! The food is sub-par and thats being kind. My family and I ordered about 45 $ worth for all 6 of us to get a taste of varying things; burgers, tots, chicken, slushees. We were left utterly disappointed and I was pissed that I wasted my time standing outside in the freakin cold to get this crap burger. This is no Happy Days ppl! I just remember feeling like I as eating a dried out bun and an overcooked cattle burger that was dry and with no flavor, condiments, no love! I suppose if you are a high school kid this place could be fun in the warmer weather and with friends b/c its unique compared to other fast food– but its still that, Fast Food. And not good shit either. Just shit shit. I wouldn’t come here again. I’d rather hit up the chinese around the corner

When I lived in Texas, the Sonic there was great. So I was excited when this Sonic opened. However, I’ve had 3 incidents that make me not want to go there anymore.(Although I still will maybe once every few months.) Once I drove away and the chicken strips from my order were missing. I didn’t notice until I was home. From now on I will always check to make sure I have everything. Another time, I found a twisty-tie IN my burger! Again, I was already home or else I would’ve complained. Once I asked for onion rings and they were out. It wasn’t super late at night or anything. Seems like a pretty popular thing to be out of. The quality also isn’t up to par with the Sonics in other areas of the country. I’m glad they finally opened one here, but it could be better.

We love Sonic. What do we love about it compared to just about every other«fast food» joint around here? 1) The menu: everything is both good and interesting. The burgers are fresh and tasty; the produce is crisp; even the pickles are rocking. The chicken toasters are not to be bypassed, either. 2) The sides: the fries are infinitely less interesting than either the Tots or the Onion rings, which are both great. 3) The drinks: slushies for the kids. Funky limeades(which are really fruity sodas) for the grownups. Triple hooray for something other than Coke!!! 4) The service: quick and friendly and on rollerskates. I mean, again: hooray ++. My seven year-old, who has a pretty advanced burger and fries palate, pegs Sonic’s burger as among her favorites. I have to agree, they are darned darned good. Plus, we can eat them in the car, not have to move, and rock out to whatever music we want to. Viva Americana, right?

Sonic, you have been taunting Long Islanders for years with your hypnotizing commercials. I knew I had to try you. I guess I went on a good day, since the service was excellent, we did recieve a few looks for eating it outside(Sonic Blasts included) on a 50– degree evening. Ok, so from the commericials, the two things I knew I had to try are the Cherry Limeade and Reese’s Sonic Blast. Both rocked. Big pieces of Reese’s = inappropriate noises coming from me. Burger was also great, Onion rings were a nice change from crappy White Castle ones im used to. Honestly, it pays to visit my friends at Marist just for the prospect of coming here.
