So sad to say, but BeBop just is not the same anymore. It used to be my favorite place to grab a quick bite but not anymore. Went there around 1pm on a Saturday and there was only one girl working. She was very nice, but we waited for about 25 min because there was such a long line and only one person. Ordered a quesadilla and the cheese wasn’t melted and it was soft, clearly rushed because of the amount of people waiting to be served. Guacamole isn’t good anymore. The fresh salsa has a funny taste to it now, a bit vinegary. And prices went up. Overall so disappointing because it used to be so amazing.

I want to like this place more than I actually do. I appreciate that it is not a chain, making things from scratch and that it is close by, convenient and depending what I order, healthier option than most quick take-out places. As many people have commented, prices are slightly higher than some other places and the food is bland, especially the rice and beans. You can compensate by getting more salsa. The last time I went it was mid-afternoon and the lights were off even though the open flag was up. I went in and a man eventually did come out of the back. The food area was a bit of a mess and he rushed through making my bowl, putting things in I specifically said I didn’t want(cheese and sour cream). Usually when scooping the chicken and beans they use a slotted spoon and let it drain a bit. Not him. He also didn’t put my container in a bag like I usually get and on the way home liquid started leaking out all over my car! I got home to find out there was ½– 1 inch of liquid in the bottom of my container. Not impressed.

Always good food except for one time. The pork was a little green and off tasting. Needless to say that I did get sick from it. Maybe the pork was left out too long? I will still eat there but will watch out for spoiled meat.

Two stars may seem harsh but I really have«experienced better» and it actually wasn’t «A Ok». This seemed like the only option for a burrito in the area and I was happy about the prospect of supporting a mom and pop place instead of the bigger chains. The food area was a wreck. Lids and utensils scattered everywhere. Food bits strewn about and terrible lighting over the prep counter. I ordered the Veggie Burrito which is rice and beans, salsa, etc. I did like that they had spinach tortillas. BeBop needs to learn the value of a sprinkle of salt and a squeeze of lime. What I love about Mexican food is the spice and pizzazz of the flavors but BeBop was just bland and boring. No seasoning whatsoever on the rice or the beans. Nada. The salsa had no flavor to speak of. The guacamole had blackened in the storage container and also needed a good dose of salt and lime. The only thing going for them was the price. At $ 3 cheaper than Chipotle, I guess that’s a win but honestly, I’ll probably just make burritos at home next time.

I have been here twice now. My first time earned 1star because of the service. I was contacted less then 24 hours later by the owner. I applaud an owner that cares and reaches out to customers who are dissatisfied. He was interested in my experience and was hopeful I would give his place another shot. For the skeptics, he didnt offer me a free meal, just apologized and explained he was the new owner and was trying to improve. So, he showed me his customer’s feedback is important. Nice! I went there for a second time on 11⁄20 about 5pm. Was greeted by a friendly lady behind the counter. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered 2 burritos, Chicken and Pork. The Chicken was flavorful. The pork could use a little more seasoning in my opinion, but not bad. Nice extras, corn salsa, lettuce, peppers, etc. I only wish the salsas were better. They were out of the Medium tomatillo salsa. The mild was 98% tomato so had little other flavor, and the hot was too much like tomato paste. I had lived many years in San Diego and love fresh, nice salsas. They aren’t hard to do and these could use some improvement. But hey, that’s just me. I’ll come back. I like my fresh Mexican food. I think the Burritos are good. I think the Service was 100% improved. I think the salsa could improve. I give HUGE props for an owner that cares. Nice job Alphonse and best of luck.

I love this place. Sure they have an occasional bad day but that doesn’t phase me. I like to swing by on a Saturday afternoon and relax with a corona and a tasty burrito. The pork is delicious as is are the fish tacos. These are actually the best fish tacos I have had outside of California! My wife like the coconut shrimp burrito and my kids love the chips and salsa and quesodillas. If you get there and there is more than 3 — 4 people in line you may end up waiting a little but like I said, who cares! If your uptight and in a big rush I can recommend a lovely burger joint like McDonald’s or Burger King. If you want good fresh food made to order this is a great spot. I don’t mind if a place like this runs out of menu items. That means to me they are ordering fresh ingredients and not pulling from the freezer like most places

We have been frequenting BeBop since it’s opening and have been pleased every time. It is a great success for our Family. We haven’t had any of the meat options, but the kids are always pleased with bean and cheese quesadillas and chips. My husband loves the fish tacos and I always love the seasonal vegetarian with the ratatouille(being vegan it is great to have a burrito made without cheese or sc). Yammy fries are great as well. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming to our family. In fact after writing this we may go tonight!

I pass it all the time, after living in Texas for some time I gave in to curiosity. It was exactly what I expected. Quick, really fresh ingredients with a decent portion. I got a veggie burrito bowl and it was pretty good. It wasn’t extremely flavorful and I’ll definitely add some extra sauce and spicier salsa next time. It was no Texas style burrito place but, it was pretty good and the citrus slaw was amazing! It was an extremely quick, inexpensive and filling dinner. Exactly what I expected. I’ll definitely come back and try more they have to offer, the chili smelled delicious. I just wish they had jalepenos today: o(

I wouldn’t say this was my favorite burrito place, but BeBop is definitely a contender for quick weekday meal when I don’t feel like driving into the city or any of my regular«spots». The food is fresh(the chicken is a little bland, so definitely load up on the hot sauce) and the specialty burritos like the coconut shrimp are unique and delicious.

I’ve been meaning to try Bebop Burrito for a long time, just never actually made it down there. My dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in February, had his left lung removed in July and just started his last 2 chemo sessions this past Monday 09÷19÷11. He started to feel the chemo more quickly this time around and the nauseousness has made it difficult for him to eat and has left him with no appetite. So, when he said he felt like having Mexican tonight I was willing to travel to the ends of the earth to get him what he wanted. Luckily, he said he wanted to try Bebop so of course, I was totally down! Our Order: 1 Pork Burrito 1 Chicken Quesadilla 1 Ground Beef Tacos w/the fresh Tomato Salsa on the side(3 tacos) 1 Chicken Tacos w/the fresh Tomato Salsa on the side(3 tacos) 1 side of Guacamole The Good: My mom went in to pick up the food while I waited in the car and she said it smelled fantastic inside! She also noted that all the«cooks» were wearing gloves and the place looked REALLY clean. They were pretty busy for a Monday night but our food didn’t take long at all. By the time we got home and opened our food we were all salivating and couldn’t wait to dig in. My mom’s Quesadilla was packed with fresh ingredients including cheese, chicken in «Chipotle» sauce(supposedly it was Chipotle, more on that later), onions, peppers, and salsa. she said it was good, although slightly bland, but she enjoyed it anyway! My dad’s pork burrito was smaller(lengthwise) than we expected but was very thick and had A LOT of meat and fillings… very filling despite first looks! I couldn’t decide which tacos I wanted so I got one order of both the Chicken and the Ground Beef and figured mom or dad could eat what I knew I wasn’t gonna be able to finish! lol The tacos had a nice amount of meat and the salsa came on the side as requested. The lettuce they use is Romaine and was very fresh and crispy, I just wish it was shredded and not chopped in big chunks… but that’s a personal preference The Bad: I had forgotten to order Guacamole for my mom(she loves the stuff… ew lol) so my mom added it on when she picked up the food. She was charged for it and she paid for it, yet we never actually got the Guacamole… bummer! We didn’t feel like going back so she just dealt without it… strike 1. My tacos were supposed to have sour cream in them… which they did, but it was just a teeny tiny amount so I had to add my own. The tacos were also supposed to have cheese in them but all I could find were maybe 20 shreds TOTAL in all 6 tacos… what’s a taco without cheese!!! My dad’s Burrito also had very little sour cream and cheese. The chicken in my tacos and my mom’s Quesadilla had this«chipotle» sauce on it but I have no idea what was«Chipotle» about it… it tasted like tomato paste with some seasonings. The last of the bad has to do, again, with my tacos. They were swimming, literally, in water/juices; strain the meat, strain the lettuce, strain, Strain, STRAIN! I «poured» out as much of the watery mess as I could but my tacos were still completely soaked and all soggy. And, in case you’re wondering, the amount of «water» poured out of my 3 Beef tacos was equal to a little under 1⁄3 cup… gross. The Ugly: Even though«the bad» was pretty bad, both my father and I would’ve been able to deal and enjoy our food. What completely ruined our meal was that the food was TASTELESS. I’m not even over reacting! Neither the ground beef nor the pork had any flavor, like it was cooked without even the littlest pinch of salt or pepper… really?! What’s the point of using fresh ingredients and locally raised beef, when you don’t season your meat? My dad was soooo looking forward to his burrito and he barely ate half. He ended up eating a piece of my mom’s Quesadilla and 1 of my chicken tacos instead of finishing his burrito and he even commented on the blandness of those items too. All in all, we were very disappointed and probably won’t go back again. What a shame too, because this place looked promising and is conveniently located. Oh well, I guess we should’ve gone to Taco Bell… and that’s saying something!

I was so looking forward to trying out Chipotle’s «competition.» Alas, the Chipotle gods intervened — in the form of terrible customer service. I was planning on using a Rhode Deal(think Groupon for Rhode Islanders), but the expiration date crept up on me. The day the deal expired was the same day we had a terrible rain storm… and I wasn’t about to risk a 20 minute drive(on good weather) for a burrito. So instead, I went the day after. I’ll be honest, a part of me was really hoping that they would be nice and give me the full deal. But if they didn’t/couldn’t I could at least expect they honor the price I paid for the deal(as was indicated in the not-so-small small print). Once I arrived, the girl working there said she couldn’t accept the deal — according to some ‘store-wide memo’ distributed that day(they only have one location — and the place is small). She said I should come back in the morning, when the manager would be there. Seeing how I was not going to trek back just to accommodate the manager’s schedule, I asked if I could at least have the amount I paid be honored… reasonable enough … She didn’t have the power to work the cashier to take deal for the amount paid. Sigh. I wasn’t going to give up. I was there, I was hungry, and I had already paid $ 10. So I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to. She offered to call the manager. I waited. And what was the response? That they would give me a $ 5 discount, because that was what they would get from the deal. I was dumbfounded. I don’t care what deal you made with RhodeDeal… I paid $ 10, I want $ 10 worth of food. The terms and conditions for the deal also clearly say that I am entitled to the amount paid following expiration. Rules are rules — and this time the customer was right. I left obviously … and made my way to Chipotle to grab dinner. If you’re thinking about making your way to BeBop… don’t bother.

Decent«fresh style» burritos and other take out ‘mexican.” When I lived in Boston(and was a mostly poor bachelor) I lived off places like this. BeBop is an «A-OK» version(hence the 3 star review!) As a self proclaimed«hot sauce» guy I find their selection in this area lacking. They have a salsa option that is crazy hot — but everything else is a bit bland(although very fresh — which is nice.) Also — as of my last visit — they have NO jalapeños on site. Which is weird. The world needs more jalapeños — especially the world of texmex/mexican food. Worth it — due to lack of options — but not all it could be. Or maybe I’m just cranky tonight.

Never again. Price to value — not worth it. Attitude on the phone — maddening. Note to the owner — I don’t care about the problems of your 20 something crew. When I call about an incomplete order my watermark isn’t what you put into your computer. It is what I requested in the first place. I hired you because I’ve had a long week and want to keep it simple. If you’re having a self esteem problem call your mother.
We ordered two burritos, one order of yammie fries(a small handful) and an order of guacomole for which they forgot the chips. The cost $ 24.00 but I guess the attitude came free. Gotta go. I finished my food and now it’s time to make a sandwich.

OK let’s review this again because I’ve been back again and again since my first review. First let’s talk about Salsa. If you’re getting Mexican you might as well get chips and salsa. There is no happy medium of hotness between the very mild Tomatoes & Chiles Salsa(aka HOT) and the burn-your-face-off«Habanero Hottie» salsa(aka SERIOUSLYHOT). Anyone I’ve seen attempt dipping a chip in the Habanero Hottie has barely survived the coughing and gagging fit it triggers. So… I recommend the good, but not very spicy HOT salsa. So I’ve had the tacos, quesadillia and the bowls. I love the bowls(aka salads) because they’re always fresh and delicious. If you ask them to mix the HOT and SERIOUSLYHOT salsas together for this, it’s actually not too bad. The quesadilla is by far my favorite, and I think the chicken is your best bet as far as meat goes. It’s loaded with green peppers, which I love. Tip: order the quesadilla with extra cheese, it’s even better! Then we have the tacos, which I got soft shelled and with beef. I wasn’t entirely impressed. They were OK but I wished I’d gotten something else. Still haven’t tried a burrito, but I’m more of a quesadilla girl.

Simple menu choice Clean and crisp interior Warm up a little BeBop was an interesting experience. It was much cleaner than other ‘taco shops’ with similar menu’s. Without a hint of grease, trash or unpleasantness, the eat-in experience is altogether enjoyable, much like a sunny bistro. The menu is actually amazingly simply to navigate, with only a few options for meats and additives. You can pick a burrito, taco, quesadilla or lettuce bowl, with beef, chicken, veggies, pork, or seasonal vegetables… and that’s it. There are daily specials(today was fish taco’s, a favorite,) along with sides of slaw, guacamole, chips or fries. I had the braised and shredded beef burrito on a wheat wrap(bonus!) with black beans, rice, sour cream, cheese, salsa(more on that later) lettuce and guacamole. It wasn’t particularly large, but it was definitely rolled very densely and filled me up. The braised beef was flavorful, and shredded but not ripped into strings. While the burrito was excellent, with everything I wanted, it was a bit lukewarm. It seems like the steam table could be turned up a notch or two, because all the ingredients(including the meat) are just hanging out there waiting for you! The salsa offerings range from mild to spicy. I took the hot tomato and chilies on the burrito and the medium tomatillo for dipping the chips. The hot was not particularly hot, I would have gone with the habanero if I would have known. The tomatillo was the worst part of the whole meal. I’m a fan of green salsa’s, but I found it to be almost inedible. It had a mossy flavor and was incredibly watery. While I would certainly go back here(and almost certainly will,) I would suggest eating in house and upping the spice if that’s your thing.

It’s okay, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. RI Monthly named them 2009’s «best quickie mexican fix», but I think they should add an «in warren» to that. The portions are way too small for the price, and they skimp on the salsa. The staff is friendly but less than fully competent. Also they tend to talk in great detail with each other about their personal problems, which depending on how much of a voyeur you are can be good or bad. The sweet potato fries are very good, the quesadillas aren’t bad, the salsa has potential, but they really should be ashamed of their Jenny Craig sized burritos. I prefer No Problemo in New Bedford and Nacho Mamma’s in Bristol, but if I happen to be starving to death in Warren, BeBop is okay.

Picture Chipotle with a soul. There are gorgeous, intensely tropical canvas photos and paintings on the walls, and the place –smells– authentic. It smells like they really cook food here. Which they do, and do well. After hearing some folks in my office rave in state of blissful satiety over the citrus slaw and chicken burrito, I realized that my life was missing this very meal, and immediately set things to rights — sort of — with a vegetarian friendly option, the Ratatouille Burrito. I am presently making a career of volunteering, so $ 8.00 is kind of an investment for me… but money well spent. There was a definite, and perfect, roasted garlic flavor to the guacamole — and I believe there was just the slightest touch of cinnamon to the ratatouille(several veggies — eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, onion, sundried and roasted tomatoes), which was also just right — not overbearing at all. I’ll definitely be back to BeBop! My life finally complete, I headed one street over to Del’s for a little cup of frozen heaven. To quote Ice Cube… it was a good day.
