On the way to Charlottesville with my husband, we soon realized after passing Centreville, then Gainesville, we were soon about to be out of any options for dinner other than McDonald’s. After a quick search on Unilocal of what was up ahead, we decided that Sibby’s would be a great option. As other reviews have mentioned, it’s off the main downtown street in Warrenton, but we found it pretty easy to find after parking at a bank across the street. Upon coming into the restaurant, we were greeted by two friendly women who were manning the hostess station and were promptly seated. After reviewing the menu, I decided on a pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes, while my husband ordered the cream of crab soup and a barbeque chicken sandwich with fries. We received our orders about 15 minutes after ordering, which was perfectly reasonable. My husband’s soup was a little watery, and didn’t seem to have a lot of crab. However, we arrived pretty late(a little after 8 p.m.), so we didn’t think the soup was as good as it could have been earlier in the evening. Otherwise, everything else was pretty good! Both of our sandwiches had a huge portion of meat, and we both ended up taking home leftovers. I got my pulled pork with their mild BBQ sauce which I thought had the perfect amount of sweetness. My only regret is not ordering the corn bread! If we’re down this way again, I would definitely stop by again to give it a try.

Very good barbecue. I had the brisket sub and it was tender and very flavorful. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and it tasted excellent. The collard greens were perfect but we thought the Mac and cheese was so-so. Avoid the kids hamburger. It tasted like a frozen patty and the kids meals are overpriced for what you get($ 7.25). The service was very good but we were the only ones in the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

One of the best BBQ places in Warrenton. Great homestyle cooking and relaxed atmosphere. Great soul food and soul music on the jukebox. Love the family-style feel here, like coming home. Generous portions and the BBQ sauce is fabulous. Brisket tasted great but was pretty fatty.

We found this restaurant Friday and oh my what a delicious meal we had. I had the beef brisket with the best collard greens and smashed sweet potatoes. My boyfriend had pulled pork and fries. The meat was tender and melted in your mouth. Our server was great she kept checking on us. The cornbread and bread pudding is delicious also. I can’t wait to go back to have something else to try. They were clean inside and had about 12 tables.

This place is a gem with some of the best BBQ we can remember having. Pulled pork was a favorite. Cornbread was also delivered to our table to snack on, and it was fall-apart-fluffy(very tasty). Mac and cheese was home style(penne pasta) more like what my mother-in-law makes than what you receive at chain restaurants. Couldn’t leave without trying the bread pudding… it had raisins which aren’t my preference, but these plumped nicely in the bourbon sauce and I found I didn’t really mind them after all. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal. Will definitely stop in again if we’re in the area!

I get this place recommended to me and decide I have to try it. I was surprised at the location as it was essentially in an alley off a downtown street. My navigation system kept telling me to turn and I thought«Where? Up that alley?» So I pull into the alley and there it is and as I wondered if it was open I could see the open sign. Always a good sign! So we park and walk back up the hill. From the outside it looked rather small but it looked MUCH bigger on the inside and apparently even has an upstairs. My wife ordered their foot long hot dog and I ordered their beef brisket sub and told them to leave off the pickle that comes with the sandwich. My wife got the unsweetened tea and I was going to order that also but our waitress(Sibby?) thought they had no limes to go with the tea(turned out they did but she didn’t realize it at the time) so I ordered coke. The meal was pretty impressive and my wife liked her hot dog. When we came in we were the only customers but soon many more started showing up including a birthday group upstairs. A very interesting place with interesting food. I would have given it 4 ½ stars if I could have. I got ice cream for dessert and it tasted VERY fresh and good. The sandwich was so big I had to get a carry out box. Oh yes, the fries were very good also, not those awful coated fries. I would like to come back soon but the place is a haul from Dale City. One complaint which is that the BBQ sauce was too sweet for my taste! I didn’t try the corn bread but a remark from another reviewer leads me to suspect they put sugar in it. I think southern corn bread has no sugar but norther corn bread seems to always come with sugar. Funny too as I thought VA was part of the south. Oh yes, the soup. I ordered the crab soup. When it came out it looked like someone had poured milk into a bowl. It made me think of the tasteless soup I had gotten recently at Giorgio’s, their cheddar and mushroom soup with no flavor. BUT this soup, while seemingly a bit thin had a wonderful taste and I enjoyed every drop. And here it is the next day and I find myself wishing I were back there AGAIN for some more of that wonderful soup!

5 stars for the pulled pork. Spicy BBQ sauce made it divine. Great family-run, black-owned business and I was more than happy to support it! Also tried the greens, corn bread, fries, and burger, which were on point. Only miss was the mac ‘n cheese but forgivable.

Hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had. No matter what kind you like — I’m a fan of Carolina vinegar sauces over VA-style sweet BBQ — They have it. Slow cooked pulled pork is the best. Would recommend this spot to all BBQ lovers.

Good to very good BBQ and sides. Friendly staff. The location could be better though as it is inside a very old building and there was a mildew smell. Not easy access for anyone with mobility issues. It is on a side street off of Main Street with very limited street parking or you can park further away and walk over. Sibby’s is one of the best places as far as the quality of the food in Warrenton.

What a wonderful discovery! Sibby is a wonderful lady and the food is fantastic! I enjoyed the BBQ ribs with sides of beans and Mac and cheese. My wife had the pulled pork with collard greens and mashed sweet potatoes. Wow! All were great. Highly recommend Sibby’s!

This is a great little soul food/bbq joint in Warrenton Va. On our visit we had the Pulled pork sandwich combo as well as the fried catfish. Both meals were delicious, and the sides were amazing as well. This is a great place to swing by, and have some truly good soul food while exploring this part of Virginia.

I almost dont want to write this review, but i think the secret is out :) Stumbled onto this place coming back from Sperryville(thanks Unilocal!!!) — as I walked in I was greeted by Sibby herself! What a pleasant person, and my god what delicious BBQ. Based on another Unilocal review I got the combination platter(which is not on the menu), which came with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Heaven. Don’t let the plain appearance of the building or interior fool you — this place is serious business when it comes to BBQ. Go. Go now.

I have been here a few times now, and it is always very good. Staff is always friendly and food is always excellent. I have tried a few different entrees and the catfish is the best. When you out this way, checked them out.

I can’t believe that I just found this joint. In my defense, it is slightly off of the beaten path. We went on a double date, so I was able to try so much! The cornbread may have been the best I have ever had. It was served steaming hot, moist, and just enough sweetness. The ribs were fall off the bone, with a nice smokey flavor. The brisket had me like woah. Super tender, as in I was able to cut it with a fork. The mashed potatoes and gravy reminded me of something my grandparents would have served on a Sunday afternoon. Down. Home. The greens came as they should, with little tid-bits of ham hock. Our server was great… very accommodating. The place itself isn’t all that pretty. It’s really kind of plain and boring inside. However, with food like that, who cares about the artwork or lack there of on the walls. Thank you Unilocal for turning me onto this gem!

This BBQ joint is right in downtown Warrenton and had great Unilocal reviews, so we decided to check it out. We went there for lunch around 12:30 on a Sunday and we were immediately told that they didn’t have ribs or brisket, so we were a bit bummed by that. We went for the pulled pork and that came with 2 sides. I got the mac & cheese and sweet mashed potatoes. The pulled pork was awesome, full of flavor and tender. The bbq sauce that came on the side was good and a little sweet. The sides were good and I could tell they were homemade. The service was good and our waitress was nice, but it was clear that she was working short handed and needed help. The décor of the place isn’t great, but we came to eat good BBQ and not necessarily enjoy the décor, but just be warned that Martha Stewart didn’t decorate this place. It has good BBQ and I look forward to come back and get to try the ribs.

Ok, let me start off by saying the brisket here is the best I’ve ever had. I may not be a world-class BBQ connoisseur, but I usually find brisket dry and bland at most restaurants. Not here. It’s so tender your fork can barely lift it without it disintegrating… Ribs. Let’s talk about ribs. Now, I like my ribs to be NOT-QUITE fall off the bone… but that’s a personal preference. At Sibby’s you can just tug on the bone, I mean you can’t even lift one off the plate as the bone just separates from the meat! This makes it easy to eat, anything that doesn’t melt like butter is either bone or cartilage, something you probably don’t want to eat. We split a rack between three people and everyone loved it. The ONLY ribs I liked better than Sibby’s was at Pappy’s in STL. Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

We stopped in here for an early dinner on a Wednesday in June and had a fabulous meal. We had the Beef Brisket, nicely seasoned and smoked, and a half Rack of Smoked Baby Back Ribs. The ribs were the best I’ve ever had, meaty and expertly smoked. For sides, we had French fries(very good), mixed vegetables(very good), and the best Collard Greens I’ve ever had. Hard to beat two all-time bests in one meal! The owner, Sibby herself, served us. This«mom & pop» place is doing everything right.

WOW! AMAZING!!! My friends and I found this place on Unilocal as we were driving back after a day of hiking. This was the perfect place to gain back all those calories that we had just hiked away! I got the half rack of baby back ribs, mac and cheese and veggies, and I couldn’t be happier! My friend got a whole rack, and he couldn’t even finish half of it! Someone got the pulled pork and that looked and smelled amazing. My other friend got salmon, and it may have been good, but you don’t go to Sibby’s for salmon. ;-) Definitely order one of their bbq meat dishes. That’s the only way to go. Our waitress was also amazing. We asked if her mom cooked everything, she said no. Her dad does and her mom makes all the sauces! Amazing!!! Sounds like such a great family business. I will definitely go back if I’m ever around Warrenton again.

Would’ve gotten 4 stars if they weren’t out of brisket! WTH! They said they were out of ribs too, then checked, and came back to say they were wrong. Ribs were good and tender. The greens were good, so were the mashed potatoes and cornbread. The baked beans and mac/cheese were less than stellar. Service was great. And they had TVs to watch the NCAA games!
