Great brunch experience! I was afraid that this place would be crowded on a Sunday for brunch so I went ahead and made a reservation online. Not sure if we needed it because the restaurant wasn’t too crowded, but I rather be safe than sorry. Anyways, my friends and I all ordered the brunch special, which is $ 29 for one appetizer, one entrée, and bottomless mimosas. The mimosas were delicious, and our wait staff were on point with refills. We never had to ask. I ordered the kale salad for starters, and it was pretty good. My friends all ordered the salmon rillette, which ended up being a table favorite. All of us ordered the pork and polenta for our entrée. The pork was okay but the polenta and egg were good. Our waitress was nice, though she seemed a little stressed. She forgot our biscuits at first, but it was fine because we ended up getting them later. Overall, our experience was a good one. We would definitely come back.

This place was an awesome date night. King salmon was divine. I’ve never had salmon that tender. It almost melted in my mouth. Mussel chowder reminded me of she crab soup and the wife had the mussels and shrimp. All delicious! Love this spot.

Only came for drinks but The Arsonist was phenomenal! A must try if you order a drink, you won’t regret it.

Ardeo/Bardeo is a Cleveland Park staple. Luckily they also have brunch with bottomless mimosas or champagne with two courses for $ 28! You can also get items a la carte. Starting out we got bread baskets that had these super delicious warm scones. They were so delicious that it was hard to not reach for a second. For my dishes, I started with the crab beignets, which were super yummy! I was afraid they might be too oily or greasy, but they were perfect. Then, I went for the Huevos Rancheros which was delicious too. I just wish there was a little more food in that dish(eg. I only had a few small pieces of potato. I thought they were hidden under the eggs, but they weren’t!) If you’re super hungry, I’d probably aim for the Nutella French Toast or the burger. Over all, I found the food good, but not mind blowing. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to seek out brunch here again, but it’s a solid choice in the Cleveland Park/Van Ness/Woodley Park areas. They were able to accommodate our large group when we booked in advance. It wasn’t any issue that some members of my party didn’t get the bottomless mimosas brunch.

It was definitely expensive, but worth it. Me and my man were around the area so we decided to go there for dinner. The place is cozy, just a little empty even though it was dinner time. We both got a glass of pinot noir for dinner, and ordered the seafood pasta, the prosciutto pizza and the potato croquettes. The food was great!

Went here for brunch with my boyfriend. Pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I actually have not stopped talking about the truffle burger I had. He ordered the duck waffles — he was more jealous of mine :) we loved the 28 bottomless mimosa or champagne deal for sure! One app each and a main. I’ll def go back. Great service also!

This place had excellent food. Fresh and delicious. They accommodated an allergy at the table enthusiastically. And the service was really good. The rolls were really good. It’s not five stars because it was a little expensive for the portion sizes including the wine.

Amazing drinks and appetizers! We got the amethyst rock drink, olives and manchego cheese. Definitely recommend it! The Atmosphere is very mellow too.

I am so disappointed with our experience here after hyping it up to my friends beforehand. I’ve eaten here for brunch before and it had been absolutely fantastic. Granted, that was 2 or 3 years ago, but still!!! Talk about a complete 180. The service for brunch here was incredibly slow. From start to finish we must’ve been there for almost 3 hours just waiting for our seats/our waiter/our food(should have only taken half the time in a normal situation). Although our waiter was nice, he did not seem to be around much; all the tables around us as well looked disgruntled from waiting for so long for their food. I’m sure there had to have been a huge kitchen backup; there’s no other way why we would have had to wait so long. The food itself was definitely not as good as it has been in the past. My duck and waffles were mediocre; the duck was tough and the waffles were not anything to get excited over. I should have gotten what a couple of my other friends had gotten, the steak and eggs(which was really tender and flavored well). The only saving grace to the meal was having the warm pastries(their biscuits are incredibly light and flavorful!) come out at first, which helped to ease our hunger as the waiting game began. Step up your game, Ardeo!

Dirty and gross. I can overlook my friends’ cold hard eggs Benedict and weird mushroom growth in a fennel omelette. I can overlook the lack of winter radishes in my winter radish salad. These things might happen during a busy brunch. I can even skim past the lack of staff and resulting poor service. I get it– it’s brunch, you’re busy. But I can’t overlook dirt and trash and unclean surfaces. No and no. Not going back.

As always Ardero Bardero delights with both the neighborhood feel as well as food and service. After numerous dinners here, I recently went here for brunch for the first time. Brunch is as good as dinner and absolutely a great time. The best deal is the $ 28 deal that includes an appetizer, an entrée and bottomless mimosas(or for those who prefer your mimosa, hold the OJ, there is also champagne included in this deal). Everything is delicious, however I do have to say that the nutella french toast is stellar. Let’s also talk about the fresh based bread and scones they put at the table. These in itself are reason enough to come for brunch(they have savory versions of these for dinner). Service is always spot on, not intrusive, not sparse, just right though. All drinks, esp the bottomless mimosas magically stay full the entire time without one noticing that the glass has been filled. I really can’t say enough about how much I like this spot.

Met a friend on a weekday about 8pm. Good amount of people. Not crowded, not dead. After a martini which was perfectly made, we ordered the chic pea appetizer and a pizza. The chic peas were awesome. They are swap fried and seasoned with cumin and coriander among other spices I am sure. I wasn’t sure how to eat them(spoon? hands?) and asked the friendly bartender. He said he’s seen it all. I ate them with my hands. I got the mushroom pizza. It was good. I prefer a thinner crust but still ate the whole thing. Yummy!

We visited Ardeo for brunch Saturday morning at 11am because Ripple was closed :-(However, Ardeo also does a $ 28 bottomless champs brunch with your choice of any first and second course. My bf opted for the crab fritters(actually I wanted them but I don’t like ordering the same thing as the other person I’m dining with) and I ordered the porkquettas. He definitely had the better one. The fig marmalade that the porkquettas were served in was entirely too sweet and overwhelmed the savory. For our entrée he ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered the veggie omlette. Mine was fine, but his was excellent, bursting with so much flavor; I particularly loved the avocado mousse. The champs was flowing so we decided to try their toffee & chocolate bread pudding. I had a couple bites, nothing too spectacular. But then I’m not a huge bread pudding fan. Overall this was a solid brunch; a touch on the stuffy side, but service was prompt and friendly and we had a nice window seat to look out onto the wonderful neighborhood of Cleveland Park.

I came to know this place even existed because of event hosted by a very popular blogger. We were treated to two course menu with unlimited mimosas and champagne. I stuck with the champagne and thank goodness because the orange juice had a lot of pulp. YUCK to pulp! For the first course I got the Deviled Eggs. And for the 2nd course I got a Beef Burger. Both were delicious, especially the burger. The fries were alright; not really a fan of fries that still has the skin. I will say that it took too long for the food from both courses to arrive. Maybe they waited for the go ahead from the host; maybe due to the large quantity of people(we took up the whole 2nd floor). Who knows. But let’s just say I got heavily tipsy from the champagne I was downing while waiting on the first course. Some side notes: Parking is atrocious. We got lucky finding a spot right near the restaurant. Be aware of these pressed ass parking cops! We found a ticket placed under the window shield wiper for not having a ticket on the window shield. Despite the fact that I paid for our parking via Park Mobile. Shouldn’t the parking violation cop be knowledgeable of Park Mobile? So frustrating.(Ticket was $ 25, by the way). No elevator. Women’s bathroom with only two stalls. And as stated, a 2nd floor. There’s an adjoining rooftop terrace there, too.

Great first experience. Been wanting to try for a while as I live in the neighborhood and had heard good things. Decided to go for restaraunt week. Later reservation, very crowded as expected but we were given choice of seat. Interior is coozy, nice, has a trendy vibe but not in a bad way. The service was slow but that happens during restaraunt week. Waitress was very apologetic. Cucumber magarita was good, not too strong refreshing. The tomato salad app was excellent. Different kinds of tomato whipped goat cheese. The dish was seasoned and spiced perfectly. I had the salmon with black rice. Also very good. Perfectly cooked, tender rice. Gf was equally pleased with her swordfish and crab app. Last course was desert both got the donuts. Came out warm with cinnamon sugar under a cherry jelly. Side of coffee and vanilla bean cream. Soooo good. The wait was longest between the last two courses and the hostess/manager brought us complimentary glass of port and some apple wine to go with desert. I already thought the handled the crowd well but that kinda of extra service during restaraunt week is impressive. I will be back for brunch and to try more of the small plates for sure.

It had become a frequent tradition over the last year or so for me to find myself walking into Nannys and pausing for a moment as I look at Ardeos just a few doors down and wonder to myself what treasures were hiding within, but then I would just go into Nannys and forget my troubles. Finally, enough was enough, and I had to experience it for myself. I’m glad I did. Things started off strong when a basket of some soft, warm, fresh bread was put down on the table, and it was seasoned perfectly with some light garlic. So good. We had to ask for more. Seriously, some of the best free table bread I have had in a long time. For appetizers we tried the crab beignets. Tasty stuff. For entrees we split one simple dish, the burger, and one more substantial, the garlic gnocchi. Both were on point. For a pasta dish, the gnocchi was surprisingly light and fresh. And I love that garlic. The drink menu is a nice mix of wine and cocktails with a few beers thrown in. I had an arsonist, a smoky bourbon based drink. It was a little too smoky for my tastes, but that is not the bartender’s fault — the flavors were mixed well, and I can’t wait to try another concoction next time.

This is actually my favorite restaurant in Cleveland Park. The service is impeccable, the outdoor space is very intimate, and the wine list is quite impressive. I had the gnocchi, which was served with an egg on top that could be stirred into the sauce. Amazing flavor! This is the perfect spot for a date night or happy hour and quite the popular location for millenials.

Came here for brunch this past Saturday(Memorial Day weekend) and had a great time! Service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is modern, but cozy. We got the huevos rancheros and the ratatouille frittata to eat, with Bloody Marys and a pot of coffee on the side. The huevos rancheros was amazingly good! It’s beautifully plated and the eggs were perfectly runny. The dish is on the smaller side, which was a little surprising, but it’s still filling. The frittata, on the the other hand, was humongous – at least 4 eggs – with plenty of vegetables and onions. The texture was perfect and fluffy, but I personally found it a little on the bland side. The coffee is $ 6 for a pot of french press, which ended up being just over 3 cups between the two of us. The Bloody Marys were great as well.

*** brunch review *** Solid spot for brunch. You can make reservations for brunch time, which is super sweet. Brunch menu has about 10 items on it, and you’re bound to find something you’ll like. I went for the pork and grits($ 19), as it sounded the most original. However, I was not very impressed. The grits, in particular, were more like a risotto, and the flavor overall was not salty enough. However, I gotta give it up for the relatively cheap and strong bloody mary’s and tasty bread basket.

Fellow Unilocalers have reviewed this place pretty accurately. The food is not memorable, and for the price, you’re better off going somewhere else. The pork-quettas are very good, but the description of them, «braised pork, fontina, fig marmalade» fails to mention that they come in three fried balls. Still delicious, but you should know what you’re getting. I didn’t order the lamb based on other reviews, but my friend and I each split the Hanger Setak Au Frites and the Amish Half Chicken. Both were considerable sized portions, but neither incredibly flavorful. The steak was very chewy. The ambiance was nice, and so was the server, but you could tell she didn’t want to be there. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I probably won’t go back. If you do decide to try it, it’s a very close walk to the Cleveland Park metro, and they have valet($ 8).
